I think your initial inclination with Winnipeg was correct: 3-7 in their last 10 with 4 straight losses with no significant changes in their roster health to explain such an implosion.
I’ve been a Sharks fan for nearly 2 decades now. I’ve never been so excited for this team, Celebrini brings a championship energy. The future looks bright.
As a Chicago fan, I’m flirting with anger only because we’ve seen that this team is *capable* of being competitive, but the inconsistency has been maddening-and for me, the coaching has been majorly head-scratching. Look, no one is picking Chicago for the playoffs. But with the way the team has showed it *can* play, and the number of leads the Hawks have taken into the third only to acquiesce and wind up losing, the fact of the matter is we should be significantly closer to a .500 team than we are. For a team that is desperate to find mojo where it can get it, these kinds of results have just been nightly gut punches.
Minnesota should be one tier lower on this index as of December 4th for 2 reasons; 1) Jonas Brodin could very easily be out long term if he doesn’t find some back relief, he’s already been out more than 2 weeks. 2) Eriksson Ek could be out medium term after taking a knee on knee yesterday. He’s listed week to week Not even mentioning Zucc who is a few more weeks out, Jacub Lauko who is a few weeks out… Minnesota is basically on life support as far as their starting roster goes. This will test Hynes’ structure like it hasn’t been yet this year. If Gus wasn’t our starting goalie we might be a bubble team at this date, with some of the injuries we’ve accumulated. Hynes already should be looked at as a Adams candidate but if they get through these injuries and stay top 3 in the central he should basically be a heavy lock
As a sharks fan, we're still very realistic of where the team is. That said... This season so far has been "gravy". The buzz is growing, more tickets are being sold... They're being talked about (finally!!) on local sports radio. The sharks are the only bay area team that's on their way up.. the franchise has a big opportunity with that.
Dallas has played well recently, but Seguin out for the season while Robo and Johnston are still struggling in the Pavelski vacuum definitely warrants ok-at-best in the vibes category. We're all waiting for the trade deadline.
For the canes it is "the other shoe dropping". The run in the beginning was a happy surprise but now their weakness is showing from the off season moves.
With the Jackets, Im definitely in the concerned column. BUT Im also happy we are doing well enough that i can even have enough expectations of the team to BE concerned. Its a strange feeling.
Sorry but Pittsburgh is still panicking, and they should be. They are an awful team, and we aren’t fooled by a modest 4 game winning streak. Even one of those games we blew a 3 goal lead, and one of them we almost blew a 5-1 lead. The defense is terrible, might be the worst penguins defense core I’ve ever seen in my lifetime, and both goalies are over 3.00 GAA and under .900 sv%. That’s just absurdly bad.
As a ducks fan, I would have probably put them one row down to Panic. Im just not convinced we’ve made a huge stride as apposed to last year. Our offense still feels weak, and we don’t have a clear Star. It just seems very boring, despite the young talent we have. We don’t have that one player who everyone is excited about and is making great plays every game. We are facing two playoff teams back to back, so goodbye to .500. That, and no news on trades despite having over 20 mil in cap space is frustrating. It feels like no one wants to come here.
Definitely know some fans that panicking a little as a Chicago fan, but as you said we were not expecting anything this season realistically. We wanted to be better than last year and have a better team which I think we did not by like 300% but we have improved and are still rebuilding
With Vancouver. I'm very happy. Considering all the injuries and all the players that have been in and out of the lineup, they've been able to stay afloat and stay in the hunt. DeBrusk has found his game. Pettersson is playing very well, and Quinn Hughes is doing well.
I hope so, when Georgie is in net, it could be 4 goals on five shots or 1 goal on 28 shots. He is the most inconsistent goalie in the league and I might need a new liver if he stays as the starter.
@@CamGoldberg3796 He's never close to Vezina. His wins are often the result of the Avs scoring 4+ goals. This season, he is actually negative on saves over expected. I think the Avs save % is 31st in the league. JA may have potential, but he also tends to give up early goals, and often does not stop the bleeding if he goes in in relief of Georgia. That is the same in reverse, too. Last night at least, Wedgewood came in cold, barely having time to introduce himself to the team after the trade, and shut the door for the rest of the game. You could see the Avs skaters gain confidence as the game progressed.
I'll tell you that as a sens fan, I'm fucking livid that Korpisalo and Ullmark freaky-fridayed as soon as the trade went through... Ottawa is where goalies come to die!

I'm a Leafs' fan, who's overall happy. The Leafs have been a hearty hockey team, nothing glamorous playing a lunch pail gang style. If they keep working, keep getting wins, and bring this throughout to the playoffs, I'm happy.
The Red Wings are absolutely anger inducing right now. I've never seen a team of theirs with potential be so gutless night after night. Yzerman is looking more and more like a fraud.
So. Avs need a goalie that is good enough. The goalie doesn't have to be lights out. Just good enough. Avs won with Kuemper, who's not exactly a lights out goalie. He was just good enough. And for Avs fans wanting Gibson, not gonna happen. He has a no trade clause and he's making 6.4 this season. Avs can't afford it and he has to approve the trade anyway
With the Avs, I feel like they've been playing every first period with an empty net. And it's hard to be a defenseman when you don't feel your gt is solid back there.

Lou's legendary passivity has singlehandedly put that team in the doldrums, and the fact that there's been zero indication that he's going anywhere has been drawing no small amount of ire from the Isles fanbase. The moves that need to be made simply aren't because Lou refuses to pull the trigger, and as long as he remains sitting in the GM seat, I don't see that team going anywhere.

Coming from a Blackhawks fan, I can say confidently that there is a lot of panic from the fan base. I'm a Bruins fan and watched tonight. The Blackhawks didn't win, but I saw a lot of quality play from them. Their defense corps looks like a thin spot, but overall there seems to be great potential for this team. Hang in there :-)

Thanks for the video! Mostly good but I think the Pens might be more concerned because even the four wins doesn't have them in contention. We'll see if you drop them down in a couple of weeks.
Chicago is getting annoyed. They'll blow out Dallas 6-2, but then blow 2 goal leads and lose to Philly and Minnesota and blow 2-1 leads against San Jose and Anaheim, all those leads going into the 3rd period. I know this team isn't playoff worthy but come on they should be closer to .500 then they are now with this lineup. I will add an asterisk as 2024 overall for Chicago sports fans has been lets just say.... a bit rough
Definitely concerned for Carolina. Losing against the panthers and then being dominated by the kraken is not a good look. Things could be worse though. Coach rod didn’t seem too happy.
With the atlantic, is it that Buffalo, Ottawa, Detroit and Montreal aren't getting any better, or is it that Florida, Tampa, Toronto and to a lesser degree Boston get better every year as "destination" clubs?
As an Isles fan, I'm definitely in anger mode but never in waiting for a phone call mode. I have seen this team turn it around before and we are close to getting Barzal, Duclair, and Pelech back. If we can weather the storm for a little longer, look out.
I think the main question for the Islanders this year is: Is Cole Eiserman for real or is he Bellows & Wahlstrom chapter 3. If he's the real deal, and I hear he's doing pretty good in the NCAA, there's hope for the future. Does he play one more year in college or does he come up next year?
As a Flames fan, I'm happy. No one expected them to do anything this year and all I wanted was to see them be competitive. Even if they do fall off a cliff, we weren't supposed to be good this season anyway.
Zero panic in Carolina and it's really the OK type of "concern" where you always know injuries are possible and playoff spots have to be clinched and never taken for granted. If goalie interference didn't include goalies going outside the crease to shove players, the Canes win that game. Even going .500 for the next two months is fine for Carolina with everything being about how Andersen does on the return.
Carolina fan- concern mainly in net but I just felt like we didn’t really play well at all against Seattle. We’ll see what happens when Colorado comes to town.
Panic Index video.. Classic choice, wearing THG Hat & H2G2 jersey. Just need a small NHL logo towel over the shoulder. (one of the small ones players wipe their visors with would work nicely.)
@TheHockeyGuy Shannon, I agree with almost everything you posted for you panic index. Only ones I'm wavering on not are the Kings (overachieving) and Avalanche (have the horses to improve in the standings)... 1000% agreement are where you put the Rangers. If they are not in panic mode, when will they? I say if they lose at least 2 of the next 3 games. I was already saying through the last 4 games through Monday's embarrassing loss to the Devils, still nothing has been done yet. Fan frustration will boil over if the Rangers drop ALL of their upcoming games to the Penguins, Kraken and Blackhawks. Sure is possible. And IF it does, it will get really really ugly. Maybe benchings, Chris Drury losing his job or Peter Laviolette losing his. I don't support a coaching change.
as a leafs fan, the leafs definitely are not panicking. seems like berube lit a fire under their ass, well that and it being a contract year for tavares and marner, they're playing great.
I can't get over how bad this season has been for the Preds. They had looked to be one of the most improved teams and looked like they were going to be a beast come playoff time. Still could, but that ship is ready to leave port. Another team that befuddles me is the Rangers and I have to wonder if part of that is the concern that they might lose Shesterkin. And then the question becomes just how much money does it take to get him to sign and if you pay it are you going to ruin the entire team? Is it worth it? Who knows. One last team to mention here is Colorado. Good grief they have goalie miseries, for sure. I am a Stars fan, but to be honest, it would be a miserable shame to waste years with the talent they have because you can't find an adequate goalie. They don't need a Vezina Trophy winner, they need a good consistent NHL goalie with about a .915 save percentage.
The Flyers should always be in the concerned slot, no matter how well they're doing. Sincerely, a cautiously optimistic Flyers fan with more cautiousness than optimism...
With the mindset of this finally being the drop off year for Boston, they haven’t been doing too bad minus a couple rough games. Still like their cores chance to turn it around
I'm on board with the Penguins placement. For one, pre christmas winstreaks are a Pens tradition and also... I think most Pens fans have kind of adjusted their expectations at this point. See where it goes this year, maybe kick the Rangers out of a playoff spot which would be very funny, maybe even make the playoffs, or not, then tank next year. It's all good =)
I understand the desire to have Chicago in the East, even if I can't find a realignment to do that that makes sense. However, no matter how you align the conferences, they will only be in one division.

Have The 'Nucks play the five-game home stand in the Rink on Renfrew! It can't possibly make things any worse!
I have mild concern for Minnesota. There are some significant injuries piling up. But that said the underachievers are overachieving this year. It's still hard for me to believe that the team is as good as their record. Next year may be bonkers for the Wild!
Yeah, so far it's "concerned" not panic for Jets. I'm giving a bit of grace that they're exhausted from travelling what.... 10,000km in the past few weeks, and so many stops. If the next two weeks are the same, then panic sets in.
As a Wild fan. I’m enjoying the moment but there is a little bit of panic as it’s minnesota sports. it has to come crashing down right? Add the presidency trophy curse and we have to be swept in the first round. Whatever. I’ll enjoy it while I can.
Avalanche after coming back vs the Sabers down 4-0 should not be panicking, nor below Buffalo. Even with the proposed goalie situation I would swap those 2 teams places at minimum.
If the Sharks continue performing above expected, there is no reason to move them from the top row. That being said, If they go on a long losing streak and start getting blown out....It's anger. Going to the game tomorrow in Tampa. I have high hopes for a win/close defeat. I went last year and expected nothing and came away with a win in OT.
Agree with San Jose, we didn't expect anything this season but it's going better than expected and gives us a great look at what kind of future we might have. I was discussing Nashville at a Waffle House with one of their fans in the preseason. They were very concerned about their team but I couldn't believe it would be that bad. She was dead on.
I think most ducks fans are concerned. All I see in the Reddit and on social media are people overreacting to behind the scene stuff, line changes, and wanting Cronin to be fired desperately
Thing with Ducks fans is when they are winning the coach is the best coach ever and when they lose he's the worst ever. Very hot and cold fanbase. I know because that's me.
Speaking as a Columbus fan, given everything surroinding it I don't think the Calgarybgame should count. You're not wrong about their competing records, though, and I am concerned.
Panthers need a better Top 4 D-man. Adam Boqvist and Schmidt aren't exactly OEL and Montour replacements. I may be wrong, but do not be surprised if the Panthers take a D-man during the trade deadline, and maybe even a forward like Tarasenko.
Too much optimism with Pittsburgh. It's just been a steady decline for the past five years. Why would it suddenly completely reverse and 180 from lottery likely's to playoff team
I'm definitely concerned about the Avs goaltending. I'm not sure what they're going to do about it. Georgiev has been very inconsistent. Wedgewood looked good (in the one game he's played so far). I expect that they're still looking at the goalie market but idk if there's anything better out there.
Depends on what they can get. There's probably some goalies out there that wouldn't cost an arm and a leg, depending on the team. Maybe Talbot from the Red Wings. He's always been solid
I don't think the avs are that panicked. The offense proved it's still great, the stats show that the defense isn't as bad as it looks and if Wedgewood can be even league average we'll be fine. Yes id prefer an elite goalie but our cup with kuemper showed that consistent acceptable play is enough.
I think they need a step above Kuemper this year. They don't have quite the depth of the Cup team. They don't need, nor can they afford elite, but a step above average would be nice. Actually, anything above Georgiev would be great right now.

That's how oil is supposed to burn!
@ 🔥🔥🔥👌🏻
Go Flames Go!
@ hell yeah 🔥
The Canes were worse than awful against the Kraken but a correct call on goalie interference and the final score is probably 4-2 Carolina.
@ precisely. Goaltending is always a major concern with this team it seems
Panic Index video.. Classic choice, wearing THG Hat & H2G2 jersey.
Just need a small NHL logo towel over the shoulder. (one of the small ones players wipe their visors with would work nicely.)
LGW!!!! LETS GO WILD!!!!
im waiting for chicago draft pick but at this point that will probs be blacked out too
@TheHockeyGuy Shannon, I agree with almost everything you posted for you panic index. I don't support a coaching change.
as a leafs fan, the leafs definitely are not panicking. seems like berube lit a fire under their ass, well that and it being a contract year for tavares and marner, they're playing great.
the phone represents teams like Buffalo who just phone it in.....
THANKS
Bruins fan checking in to say I'm angry every time Pasta bobbles the puck. And that's a lot.
I have mild concern for Minnesota. There are some significant injuries piling up. But that said the underachievers are overachieving this year. It's still hard for me to believe that the team is as good as their record. Next year may be bonkers for the Wild!
I would say concerned for Dallas losing Seguin for 4-6 months
The Pacific is doing well, who knew ?!...
Yeah, so far it's "concerned" not panic for Jets. I'm giving a bit of grace that they're exhausted from travelling what.... 10,000km in the past few weeks, and so many stops. If the next two weeks are the same, then panic sets in.
Carolina should be panicking.
What an awesome Jersey!
The Hawks in the thumbnail?
Panic has become resignation in Chicago.
Great channel. Go Sharks!
Bardown panic index is ASS in comparison to the king
As a Wild fan. I’m enjoying the moment but there is a little bit of panic as it’s minnesota sports. it has to come crashing down right? Add the presidency trophy curse and we have to be swept in the first round. Whatever. I’ll enjoy it while I can.
Philip Tomasino, nuff said
Avalanche after coming back vs the Sabers down 4-0 should not be panicking, nor below Buffalo.
As a ducks fan I feel like they should be in the same tier as Seattle
The Avs honestly need to consider getting rid of Landy, his cap hit is costing the team on not being able to get a new goalie.
Where? And how? Have you seen his contract?
@@defaultuser1447And if he retires, the Avs are still on the hook for his contract. At least with him on LTIR, the Avs can use the money
@@defaultuser1447Can't. Unless they buy it out. Otherwise, the Avs are stuck with it. At least on LTIR, the Avs can use the money
@@soulknife20 Woo, a buyout. At his age, 2/3 of salary for four years, and the deferred signing bonus.
THG wears metal pants confirmed
It's panic time for the Rangers for sure!
As a vancouver fan were just happy were winning without 2 of our best players, and without hronek
If the Islanders fall hopelessly out of the race, maybe Varlamov back to Colorado?
Oooo. Varly? Back in Colorado? I think fans would be happy
The Avs leave Georgie out to dry way too much for it to be accidental, I think they don’t like him anymore.
I think they need a step above Kuemper this year. They don't have quite the depth of the Cup team. They don't need, nor can they afford elite, but a step above average would be nice.
Actually, anything above Georgiev would be great right now.
@@timdowney6721We do have the depth. They are just injured.
Anger will be very short lived for BUF fans. Many are already apathetic. All soon will be. These players need a mind enema.
