Hey guys, Been wanting to do this episode for a while, although this was chosen instead of another SOAG, as the episode that was suppose to go out is a bigger project than I thought. Either way, I had a great time with this one, so I hope you enjoy it too :) Thanks for the continued support of the show and the channel, I really appreciate it! Andy
After zero explodes himself and you defeat vile, use the charged ice-gun and stay looking to the oposite direction Zero will be. Now, Zero is dying, and X is´nt even looking at him!
He must have wanted to do a badass unflinching walk away from Zero as he exploded. "X... I'm dying... Come here so I can give you-" "Quiet Zero, I'm doing a thing!"
Fantastic video! I played every inch of MMX multiple times as a kid and I never encountered these glitches. Finding others who have such extensive individual experience with the same game is like finding long lost family!
I think you're one of the only youtubers I've ever seen who has straight up ZERO dislikes on a video when over a thousand people have seen it already. Amazing video as always! :)
Wow, I certainly didn't expect this game to be glitched today! It's my second favourite game on the SNES after Megaman X2. Great video! But you forgot the iconic bad password glitch which gets you weird things like barely any health and all Mavericks defeated.
For all of my love for Megaman X as a franchise, I'd never considered it could even have glitches, having played it encountering none at all for a large portion of my childhood - really enjoyed watching this! Thanks Andy - love your work!
I can show you the world Shining, shimmering, splendid Tell me, Ciel, now when did you last Iet your heart decide? I can open your eyes Take you wonder by wonder Over, sideways, and under On a glitchy carpet ride...
I didn't know about any of these glitches. I gotta admit they were pretty amusing though. It's funny how doing seemingly harmless things can completely break the game and make sprites and backgrounds go all wonky. Also, gotta love that charged hadoken buster!
THIS IS MY FAVOURITE GAME!! YOU SIR HAVE DESTROYED MY BRAIN.......................I had no Idea these glitches existed, and I've been playing this game EVERY DAY OF MY LIFE for the past like, 7/8 years now..................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
The Carlz0r X2 is great as well, I play it almost as much as X1. X2 has the best Full Armour in the series though, and the Double Buster Shot thing is awesome!
Did you know that, doing the flame mammoth stage glitch, if you go up to the dr. light capsule in the stage(doesn't have to be there), and THEN go to the green glitch area, the enemies will become glitched of sprites, and they look hilarious
Saw the title of the video and was shocked, not because I love Megaman X (in fact i suck at it) but because I forgot that this show was at episode 52. Wow.
You can softlock the ending cutscene in the same way as the Vile cutscene if you die at roughly the same time as the final boss does, as me and my friend Sparky discovered.
Theres also a glitch with the sting chameleon stage where there is a cave with falling rocks and large rocks that transform into enemies, shoot at them before they transform then you automatically get the power up of sting chameleon.
I LOVED the commentaries! XD perfectly hilarious. I've played Megaman X since I was a kid, never have encountered any of those other than an annoying glitch which I can't shoot any 'metal' thing without it sending me to the beginning's stage. XP
Ysmahely Filho I see. :o I wouldn't mind the glitch if wasn't by the fact that it keeps on accidentally happening on battles as well, such as against Chill Penguin, when he does a belly dash and reflects the shots. Sent me straight forward to the beginning stage with me calling it quits.
+Carol Paiva Beating Armored Armadillo would be hell then. But there are "benedicial" uses to this glitch that my brother discovered, like destroying that whale warship in Launch Octopus stage, thus skipping the boss fight AND obtaining his weapon. (By the way your name imply you're BR, am i right? [I am too])
Ysmahely Filho (Yes, you'd be right! XD my bad I didn't recognized before!) Verdade!
Tirando alguns desse canal e aquele das summons stones infinitas no Secret of Evermore.
8:04 Just to clarify, the way that the SNES renders graphics in the current mode it's in is by using so-called "character graphics", which are defined by 8x8 pixel-sized "patterns" (which is a method shared by many similar-era consoles, e.g. NES, Sega Genesis/Megadrive, etc.) The console has a limited number of these patterns (as can fit in its video memory space) and so you need to manage their usage. For example, only load the graphics required for the weapon that X currently has selected so you can reuse particular pattern slots to accommodate all graphics that need to display simultaneously. So it's really not an issue of number of sprites on-screen (which leads to vanishing graphics etc.) but rather a "fight" between a graphics cue to load the graphics for the fully charged buster versus the Hadoken. Clearly it was assumed that both would never be on-screen at the same time so they are using the same pattern slots in the video memory space. This is also the same explanation for many of the other graphical glitches in this video.
Ahh good Old Megaman X, one of my fav. games for the SNES. Specially that memorable introductory stage :D Note: Megaman X6 has an introductory stage like this one as well, enjoyed both of their respective background music.
Aaaandy u destroyed my childhood :D Actually it was a relief that at least one of The glitches dont work on European MMX Love this series. Keep it going
And the most amazing if it all is that I was reading faqs and walkthroughs of the games I liked and looked at speedruns and glitch videos about them in the past 8-14 years, yet still you keep supplying glitches that I never ever heard about... Like, I only knew one of these. *What magic is this?!* Why was I spending afternoons reading gamefaqs?! *What was I researching fooooooor?!*
Here with a small continuation of the Flame Mammoth Glitch! So, I was messing around with the game today, and tried out the glitch. After I made it back to the end of the 'green area', I decided to go back and redo the glitch right after I performed it. It still happened, but this time, the enemies were visible, but their textures were absolutely destroyed! Just wanted to post my findings.
Ah, that phantom grab, such a beautiful glitch. I love watching speedruns of this game, specially races. It's exiciting to see the racers ahead screw up iceless and get caught up by who was behind!
This is pretty cool! all of these glitches exploit sprite memory, it seems. My guess (just because I feel like writing) you go into an area the game expects to only have a boss, for example, so it fills its memory with all the necessary sprites to load that boss, but if you move to the next screen where it should contain some other random enemy WITH the boss following you, now the boss object lookup table for sprites will start loading the sprites of the new zone.
At 8:10, I suspect the glitch has nothing to do with the sprite limit. In short, obviously graphics memory isn't big enough to hold all of the game's graphics, so generally a weapons graphics is only loaded when you CAN use this weapon. I suspect both the hadouken and the charge shot use the same graphics memory space. The thing is, you're not supposed to be able to use the hadouken and a charge shot at the same time, here it's only possible because you move at about the same speed as the hadouken. If you'd hit the sprite limit, then sprites would simply flicker or disappear altogether.
The problem with Flame Mammoth's stage is when going up the tube that disposses the scrapped Sea snake heads is when going to the second part of the game with the glitched green background that the area there can't scroll down further clearly making a death pit
LOL, that pipe wasn't solid...😅 Also, this was patched on the Europan version, by removing colision on pipe's sides...And it was fully fixed on the PSP remake by removing the walls at all.
The hadoken charge glitch also works if you press L or R to swap your weapon while on the mine cart. The buster shot will become the same sprite as the weapon icon you swap to.
I remember finding all of these glitches when I was younger. For the Flame Mammoth stage, I honestly thought it was an easter egg with something awesome hidden in the room ( this was when I was 7... I didn't know what a glitch was).

I can’t believe that after all this time, this comment has no likes or replies!

YOU ARE DEAD. ACTUALLY, THAT'S A SUPRISE.
ProtoMario can you beat vile in ridearmor?
ProtoMario hi
It’s possible, if you’re low on health and run into him before he uses his paralysis attack you can die. Happened to me before
That last glitch has potential.

I LOVE IT
They could just fix his legs, since y'know, he's a robot.
But no worries, at least he can be repaired because well, he is a machine and machines can be rebuilt.

I didn't know about any of these glitches. I gotta admit they were pretty amusing though. It's funny how doing seemingly harmless things can completely break the game and make sprites and backgrounds go all wonky.
Also, gotta love that charged hadoken buster!
These glitches are also in the Legacy Collection version of the game because I have done the Flame Mammoth one on there before
The Hadouken glitch is probably my favorite, I mean you're shooting Hadoukens JUST from your charge shot, isn't that awesome?
Long Nguyễn Not to mention REALLY op (if it did the same damage)
It’s not a glitch.

It's amazing how I've played this game so much yet I have never seen any of these glitches.

Then I watched the rest of the video and my guess was already considered in the video :P
This has been one of my favorite games for over 20 years... I never knew about any of these(except for the legs glitch).
I really hope you do Twilight Princess, that game has SO MANY GLITCHES.
Hopefully right after an OoT speedrun.

+Official EnricosUt What about me?
you look basically the same. just slightly broken wings.
Oh cool! I played this when it first came out, but I didn't know about these glitches.
amazing, bro.
Saw the Magic Carpet Ride being implemented into speedruns a while ago, it's quite cool though a run-killer if you miss it.
X2 next?
At 8:10, I suspect the glitch has nothing to do with the sprite limit. In short, obviously graphics memory isn't big enough to hold all of the game's graphics, so generally a weapons graphics is only loaded when you CAN use this weapon. I suspect both the hadouken and the charge shot use the same graphics memory space. The thing is, you're not supposed to be able to use the hadouken and a charge shot at the same time, here it's only possible because you move at about the same speed as the hadouken.
If you'd hit the sprite limit, then sprites would simply flicker or disappear altogether.
Even better. This will be helpful to me. I love mega man but never played this one
i love this show it is hilarious and always makes me laugh also the haduken charged shot glitch is freakin epic
Awesome Andy. Best glitches ever bro
8:05 my god... an entire wave of Hadoukens... what have you done?! This thing will wipe out the entire world!
As someone who is becoming a fan of the X series, this was entertaining.
Great video Andy,even though i don't have this game,is still a funny video c:
The problem with Flame Mammoth's stage is when going up the tube that disposses the scrapped Sea snake heads is when going to the second part of the game with the glitched green background that the area there can't scroll down further clearly making a death pit
just playing this on my emulator, definitely gonna try some out! Thanks a lot :3

1:14 I think X has been playing too much of the original Super Mario Bros 🤣.

Also, this was patched on the Europan version, by removing colision on pipe's sides...And it was fully fixed on the PSP remake by removing the walls at all.
Do Mega Man Xtreme 1 and 2 for the GBC have any glitches? I think Wheel Gator had one in the rematch, but I can't remember now.
If so, can you make an episode showing the glitches of both game

The hadoken charge glitch also works if you press L or R to swap your weapon while on the mine cart. The buster shot will become the same sprite as the weapon icon you swap to.
