Years ago in the 90s i got a free ski doo Olympic snowmobile that wouldnt run. The original carb (tillotson hr) had a impulse hole, the replacement did not not. So before internet, we drove to a snowmobile junk yard and spent all day finding the right carb. We still have that snowmobile
Manny, Moe and Jack!!! Those pepped-up Boys!!!! LMFFAO! As a play on the PEP-BOYS cheapO parts that as a younger man kept several of my first beaters on the road!!! 😂😂😂!
A friend bought a MS250 that wouldn't run after the owner installed a new AM carb. The AM carb was missing the impulse hole and they scored the cylinder trying to get it to run.
I recently built a 61 white top and put the 52mm big bore with flat top piston. Didn't mess with port timing a whole lot just focused on air flow and lightened the piston and opened the windows to max and flowed out the transfers. Ran good but felt like there was more to gain. Sooo I put the horn and HS 228 and block from a 281xp on it and used the throttle plate rod from the 272 for linkage reasons then matched the intake port to the 281 block and simple muffler mod aaand it really brought out the power. I absolutely love it now
My. guy. I like the chimeras y'all are creating. If you ask me, the world needs more Frankensteins. To be clear, I mean the mad scientist. The world's got enough monsters for a while.
I've done this before! Swapping carbs from one brand to another. Same carb and size just one was external fed with a hose and the other was port fed like yours. It's crazy that it can run but mine did too! Just idled wouldn't Rev at all. I think you'll see 6 to 6.5 horse. Probly. More of a torque gain than anything but we'll see! Good job and great video!
Larry, Moe and Curly. Is perfect.
These video are fan-frickin-tastic. Thanks for sharing Joe
Thank you! I am glad you enjoy!
For some reason the new intro reminded me of home improvement … I have no idea why but I like it

I guess it runs?

I appreciate that!

That sounds like a very nice build!
@@dynojoemods2764 be nice to see someone with a good channel build a saw like I did and run it on a Dyno. Challenge!!
Although I am not a fan of chineseium saws, I like watching videos making them go fast!
Main reason is for sawfest classes. Otherwise I wouldn't be playing with them either. They are a good way to get into this hobby though.
I have 3 for homeowners who did dirt bikes and hotrods like me they are awesome I can get a commercial saw for the clamshell husky 450 rancher

Nice intro. 500i getting ready to be shipped over to you
They really like the free flowing foam filters
Thank you! We will take care of it for you!
Nice 👍👍👍
I did the carb swap w 46 carb n used the bottom impulse line n went thru hole in the filter base as it will attatch right on the cylinder
It’s seems that most the aftermarket hd carbs come with the impulse hole. Good video!
Good stuff as always! Thanks Joe!!
Been there.. when I did my 170 I forgot to drill the impulse on the carb I was using lol 😆
Crazy how quick it happens....
We have all been there. You're lying if you never had the wrong gasket or flipped it. Great lesson video.
Larry, Moe and Curly. Moa in Chinese means which, wizard, beginning or to sprout.
Could you please dyno a ms380/g388 one day, i think it will be interesting to see its so called low end powerband.
Winking blinking and nod
Hey Joe...are you going to get into the porting on these 361 series? Would love to see what they do! Awesome work as always
Eventually, that is the plan.
Joe,do you plan on installing a Lil red barn MS 361 pop up piston, since that mod wouldn't require machining either?
The Three Amigos Steve Martin Martin Short and Chevy Chase 😅
old blue or blue, china blue, papa smurf, bluey like the kids cartoon, blue bandit, midnight slasher.
Any tips on the least expensive location to pick up one of these saws. I need a large saw for ripping 71 cc or larger. I can't find any used around md
Bluesaws.com is where mine have come from. Great customer service
The Blue Ox.
The song from Jackal The Lumberjack Song would be cool in your intro but not sure about how "themtube" works.
👍🏻👏
I’m guessing you will gain .31hp with that bigger carb💪🏻
Walbro HD 18b???
That's what I heard too, he did say it's from an MS 291
So they are about 1.5hp off the stock ms362?
Most of the stock 362 come in around the 5.5-5.7hp range
@@dynojoemods2764 Dang that is pretty hot. I think stock rating is 4.5hp.
Stihl gas high standards so when it's worn they rate it @ 4.5 hp so technically you get what you pay for@@jeremydawkins8399
The new carb doesn't have an accelerator pump either.
Keren boss..
Hey a Ms170 with a 250 carb will do that too 😂😂
My 170s wouldn't even fire like that, this goofy thing was about ready to go cut wood...
Call it Greta
Stooges, seriously? How about Axl, Izzy and Slash or Paul, John and Ringo or even Ninja Turtle names? Come on you're killing me here.
