I have been watching big deadmans for nearly 40 years and that is one of the best. I used to hear the surf overnight from my childhood house at Allambie Heights which is miles away. Great footage well done.
Best Deadman’s I’ve seen. I used to surf it in the early 90s but never that good. Awesome footage and some killer rides made… great job capturing these chargers Justin. What a day! Wish I was there…
In Frisco, we have a "deadmans" it's a short ride , and one wrong move will get ya kilt dead, hmm , the name applies, but this place is wicked, and a nice long ride is possible , but that drop, wo, and that first section, my god , you boys got balls!
Best I've seen of the Deadman's... soundtrack and nat sound just right... a smidge of gamma and I would have been over the falls in love... top job, subbed.
@@JustinSpencers As good, if not better the second time around. It matters not what others think, in years to come you'll watch this, as we all will and enjoy it as much as you must have putting it together. Without those waves and the riders... just another Aussie ocean view :)
This is another masterpiece on the same level as your Gerroa wavesailing video. Amazing waves, video and reall[y good music... rare in surf windsurf videos. The musical transition in the middle of the video was handled professionally, are you a musician?
Hard to tell. I think he hit a bit of chop, the board slowed so he bailed. Seconds later the board was on the rocks. Surfer was ok just a long swim back.
Like Noosa, on certain conditions. Ive been on Manly harbour with my aunty, on a ferry that was swaying 90deg and a Hydrofoil literaly lept off a wave and pitched onto its side... If only there was UA-cam and streaming then.. I was a kid, 50+ now.
The ledgiest wave? Yeah if you wanna ignore the literally hundreds of way bigger gnarlier ledge slabs that exist in the southern states of Australia! I got 4 better slabs than that within a 10 minute drive
amazing waves incredible riding but please don’t zoom in tight… in any way shape or form. When you have waves of this magnitude and all sorts of buckles happen tens of metres in front of the surfer then reading the wave in front is everything, to the surfer and the person viewing the video. As soon as you close in tighter you lose 90% of that perspective. Beautifully panned, very clean work but it is absolutely unnecessary. There is no drama coming in tight. Obviously, one of my pet hates and it happens in rugby all the time.
@@JustinSpencers good on you justin and it is really hard to resist using that more tightly cropped shot because it seems to add drama and intensity but you obviously understood what I meant. It’s frustrating to not use it, but ideally you just find this perfect framing and stick with it and try to keep the surfer in the right hand quarter of the frame so you can see all the wave face ahead, if it’s a right hander of course.
So proud of all Manly Surfers. Exceptional courage.
Nothing but absolute respect for the homeies that paddle out there. Som of those guys are absolute chargers.
That fella that did the snap under the lip just went berko for a moment and cut sick

Im up at Beacon Hill, Allambie edge and can hear it easily at night as well. I can see Nth Curly point

SICK video
Epic visual story telling- congrats 👏
Thanks, much appreciated. Glad you liked it.
dude on the green board hands down
i saw that one live, it was absolutely incredible!!
I first saw pictures of this wave in a 60s made book about surfing Australia by Miget Farrely RIP but it was called Fairy Bower ! It was huge !
Fairy Bower is the point break. Deadmans is the reef break just to the east that breaks over the rocks
Nice edit, nice track
Thanks Joseph, much appreciated.
Savage footage Justin 🙏🏻
Thanks, much appreciated.
Legendary day to remember, especially kuey's wave of the day 30ft face

Ditto AWESOME WAVES
I'd never though i'd enjoy classical music.
This was contemporary music. Classical music doesn't loop like that.
Great to see you in slo mo Red

Looks like Winkie to me??
Regular Joe's being brave!
Epic effort!
What camera do you shoot with?
MARAVILHA. DEUS SEJA LOUVADO ! FORTE ABRAÇO
1st wave the hook!
2:00 what happened there? Did he hit something or did he just nose it?
Hard to tell. I think he hit a bit of chop, the board slowed so he bailed. Seconds later the board was on the rocks. Surfer was ok just a long swim back.
Epic
Nice one mate! any chance you got some of the waves at winki at that time?
Thanks Sebastian, I got a bit but couldn't get a good angle so it looks a bit ordinary. Sorry.
Estou apavorada, como eles são corajosos eu nunca mais entrei no mar desde que me afoguei.
Tu habites ds quel coin? Monique ( Griotte Mbf)
Awesome
Who'd a thunk Manly would be the home of the ledgiest wave since Sterns was discovered. I remember paddling out there and feeling totally spooked.

Did anyone die out there?
Thankfully no, just a few broken boards.
One chap even had a watermelon on his head

Thanks for the advice Greg, much appreciated. I’ll give it a go next time there’s some size to it.

When I was a grom .... it was just called the fairy bower
Never any 1/2 men lineup. Where are you Simon ?
The wave doesn’t really suit surfing. More a bodyboard wave
Some surfers don't have the level for this wave size yet they follow the herd. Very dangerous behavior.
Bruh
I can't take the slo mo. thumbs down.
