- Hello everyone Welcome back to another Powwow Vlog!! In this vlog we travel to Prior Lake, Minnesota where I got to attend MY FIRST Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community Wacipi Powwow!!! We traveled all the way from Moore, Oklahoma to Prior Lake, Minnesota. I am very blessed to have travel to this powwow and meet new people and see new things! @@sonnycrks5020 I grew up as a city Indian, haven't been to a powwow in years. I was at the shokopee powwow looking at all the dancer's, they reminded me of warrior's, and the female dancers were so good looking...the shokopee powwow is so different from the other one's, maybe it's the beautiful homes around the area? I live down the road from mystic so I'm used of seeing the wealthy natives. My kids are half white and they Love it. Makes them proud of their heritage.

I'm Ojibwe from northern m.n. I live about a mile down the road from mystic lake casino. Them shokopee tribe natives are living like movie star's. At least some of us Indians have it good.😊
Yup. I’ve been in a couple of their mansions. My sister lives in one on her boyfriends land and he lives in one next door. It’s crazy to see the difference in the way they live to poor reservations.
Hello , I also went to the Shakopee powwow the same weekend for the 1st time with one of my good friends! glad you got to see how we throw down in Minnesota, was a beautiful setting and had good weather. I am a White Earth Reservation enrolled member and enjoyed it as well, was set up so nice. hope you come back to check out other powwows up this way.

Thank you! It was really fun going to new places and meeting new people!! Very blessed to be on this trail! Those words are from my grandma I wasn’t much of a contest person but there was time where we did go to one around Oklahoma and that is what she would tell me each time!
@@NotSoJulio I still hold on to a lot of old teaching that my grandpa told me , I started driving him to ceremonies when I was 12 middle of the week in snow , get back 1 or 2 in the morning go to school and go again, there’s a lot of similar stories about how you represent you and your family during your performance, I’m not a contest person myself I go to enjoy dancing with my daughter and my dad .. looking forward to see where you go next 👍🏼👍🏼

Unfortunately, I didn't get DaeDae started 🤷 but Leia is taller than me buut idk, she's kinda goofy(absolutely not starting Grayson or Luke, their dad or mom is going to have to do that).. Jude will probably be about my height in 2 yrs but she's even goofier than Leia and Ivy I'm thinking Ivy will get it quick but she'll have to wait for 3 or so yrs
They had free feeds at one time, it's one of the better Powwow's in Minnesota but will never be as good as the Wolf Point Powwow.

I'm from Minneapolis and yes, they did used to have free feasts at many if these bigger powwows. Nowadays I hear they are charging like $15 for an Indian Taco and that is crazy!! But so glad you enjoyed Shakopee Powwow!
The year that they had a feed for one of their old chiefs passing was one of the best ones I ever been to. Northern Cree was singing when the fireworks were going off. It was lit
