I am considering to check DR out by working there and see how I will like it. I used to work and live in Mexico before as an Eng. teacher. The problem is that in Mexico it is a very unstable pay for you only get paid for the hrs taught, so everyone scrambled to have as many classes as possible in a day if you were teaching adults at different companies which is what I used to do. Mind you, we always had to travel great distances between the classes which were not compensated at all, ever, having to pay for the transportation on our own. A lot of last minute contract cancellations happened, etc which we were not payed for so it was very stressful to find new classes asap so not to loose too much of an income. It's down right bullshit to be a teacher there. Is it more or less the same system there? If yes, it is not worth being a teacher. Is it paid well at least? Any benefits? In Mexico you get nothing, just the money you earn for teaching each class and adios.
