5:53 i see them directors i don't blame you their energy is infectious i was jamming too. the director from Howard who reminds me of donny Hathaway..... his arrangements wow me and I'm hard to impress. Forgive me for not remembering his name but he's the truth!
Good job Hampton song selection was great. Gotta work on intonation though. Tuning is everything especially in the high brass on melodies. That said Hampton had great energy & the sousaphones were humping & SOS always makes me dance.
12:44 trombones i know first game little mistake. Go in sectionals and clean it up its OK. At least the 2 that played had good tone and were projecting they weren't scared which is good. 10:04 Woodwinds i love the movements make sure you put your horns up together so it looks clean and crisp and purposeful. Overall great job i can tell y'all working hard the sound is paramount! I mean it was great last year its even more polished and full sounding and very balanced this year. THIS #WorldFamedAlumni Approves y'all got me geeked for the 16th! See you in the hole

@@Hampton86 mean spirited people are crazy to me. For me a black woman who attended a black institution to be mean to a bunch of young black folks that i don't know at another black institution makes no sense. All the hate i see in comment sections just because it's another school is out of control! We competitor's not enemies. Neither band was flawless hell its the first game. Everybody has time to improve. You be blessed too #hbcuLove

@deemanDavid Very true. Just pointing out that they were the 1st to do it & many were confused as to what the song was & why they would perform such a song. It sounded great when they did it & showed their musicality & the same applies to GSU. Great song performed by great bands. I heard this in person in Jesey & was super impressed by GSU. Kudos to their program.
Grambling was FAR more polished but at least Hampton had energy… they GOT to fix that upper brass intonation.

Bands were so far apart from each other !! You had to stand in the middle of that big ass stadium to get a idea of the bands these stadiums aren’t for bands

What happened to our size, our 26 tubas, and 6 more of every other instrument? Everyone in the SWAC is cranking this year, Mississippi Valley got 22 tubas and looks like Southern on the field (34 tubas), FAMU, and Bethune Cookman still look like a crowd of folks,. Song, "All the way live," was played too fast. The "G" sound was precision in motion!
Florida high school bands just be big for nothing really they so embrace by BCU and FAMU they just generally go to those colleges just to have size but no sound

Hampton had 13 Trumpets 🎺
Grambling had 18 Trumpets
no space for anymore trumpets.
They are up 3 from summer band camp! GSU had 23 last yr... and 18 aint gonna cut it with the low brass overpowering them.
Recruitment is obviously the issue…
@deejay3140 cuz all the Trumpets in the state wanna go to SU, and with the Louisiana ties to TxSU, it's even more of a strain they down like 5 tubas too
Hampton packed energy and balled out for there size difference, grambling lack style at times and the euphoniums are overpowering everything else
