It seems amazing to me that they are still working on I-75 through Toledo. ODOT has been reconstructing I-75 for seemingly an enternity. Nice work on the video.
Thank you! At this point, I'm not even shocked to see construction around the Toledo area. Every time I make a trip down that way there's always something being done. Also probably why their roads are in such great condition.
I really liked the ride! I have been through those highways MANY times as I used to visit Toledo a lot as I had an aunt who lived in the area and I would go with her around the area- and so I got to know Toledo well! I remember when the draw bridge was the bridge you went on over I-280 and I really love riding the new Skyway! It is a beauty! Nice to see all the upgrades as I have not been through Toledo in 12 years sadly!
Glad you've enjoyed the ride! I agree, the Skyway is definitely a blast to drive across, and it really reminds me of our Zilwaukee Bridge that used to be a drawbridge as well (completely different bridge style though of course). Hopefully you'll get the chance to head that way soon as well. The amount of infrastructure upgrades there these past couple of years has been incredible.
I don’t normally comment on UA-cam videos, but I think this is well warranted. Sorry for any broken English, typing on mobile is difficult. I’ve been a frequent viewer of your channel since about 2018 and I’m simply impressed with how amazing the quality of your videos have became. As a fellow road geek, Michigander, and starter Road video producer its nice to know that theres someone else out there representing the The Great Lakes State, and in such stunning quality too. I hope to have the equipment and editing skills as you someday but only time will tell. Also, video suggestion. If you happen to find yourself in the Lansing Area sometime this year Id recommend checking out I-496 (more specifically the reconstructed portion) it may not be as impressive as I-475 in Flint or I-696 in the North Metro region but its still kinda cool, just watch out for the other drivers. Would have loved to have seen the rest of the footage but hey, accidents happen. Great video tho nonetheless
Thank you so much for the kind words. I'm happy to see see a fellow Michigander taking an interest in my videos even with my poor upload schedule. And a good camera and lots of video editing practice is really all it takes. Will be looking forward to checking out some of your videos! As for I-496, I'm actually planning on making a video in that area once the weather clears up a bit. Thanks for watching and best of luck to your road geek endeavors!
@@EdwardW98 Your most certainly welcome, and don’t worry about the upload schedule, mine isn’t any better. I think you’ll really like I-496, I had the privilege of driving the Eastbound side in October 2020 (westbound was still under construction) its really nice to drive on and a much needed improvement. Below is a link to my 2021 Video Playlist witch this is some of my best work to date, much of my videos follow a FreewayJim style format witch works out perfectly for me. I mostly cover the Mid-Michigan Region but I have videos from Northern MI, and even The U.P. 2021 Playlist: ua-cam.com/play/PL2Et4KiJGoRTeZIFpiYbClfS9_FvrMkbR.html
When I took a trip to Michigan this past summer and crossed the state line from Ohio to Michigan on I-75, the condition of I-75 was, dare I say, less than desirable.
Yeah as a Michigan resident, I apologize on behalf of the state. That stretch of I-75 is really no way to welcome visitors! Hoping to see the remaining crumbling section of I-75 reconstructed within the next 2 years.
Those monotube gantries after 4:30 look quite out of place in Ohio, yet they match well (aesthetically) with the curved highway lights. I've always associated monotubes with highways in the Western USA (Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, etc.) given their extensive usage there. On the other hand, even here in Dallas-Fort Worth, we have monotube gantries on NTTA toll roads. Elsewhere in Texas, I know monotube gantries are used in the El Paso area... which in my view, only reinforces monotubes as being a "western" thing, as El Paso is the only major Texas city I'd describe as being in the Western USA. That said, just to my north, Oklahoma has increasingly used monotube gantries on newer and reconstructed highways, including in the Oklahoma City area.
You have it backwards. Most other States have green mile markers. Blue mile markers must be a Michigan thing. 1:43 My father would love to talk to you about I-69. 🙃
Ah sorry, that comment in the video was probably poorly worded. What I meant was that I've only seen the blue mile markers in the states of Ohio and Indiana. I haven't seen any blue mile markers in Michigan - only green ones. The first time I've ever seen the blue signs was on the Borman Expressway through Indiana. And your father is absolutely right about I-69 lol. That one completely slipped my mind since I don't get to drive it much, but I'm happy to say that they've just finished up reconstructing 22 miles of I-69 from Charlotte to about I-94 (even almost a year ahead of schedule I believe). Arguably the freeway that needed to be reconstructed the most in the entire state at the time.
I love how Detroit,Toledo and Chicago is so close....but I love the video...keep up the great work 😊
Much appreciated! It definitely is pretty convenient to have the two cities this close together.

@@EdwardW98 my home state just had that bridge collapse which thankfully didn't kill anybody.

Hi Edward! You have some great videos. We'd like to use one of them in our film. Do you have an email we can reach you at? Thanks :)
