The Pelzer Sluice one sounds like a dream tbh, the mix of gritty drug cartel intrigue and “a guy literally turns into a blob of skin via a giant Who Framed Roger Rabbit type machine and then gets sniffed like a sweater” surrealism feels like dreams I’ve had. Also I can’t imagine a POV style human being skinned alive showing on TV lmao
i wouldn't be surprised at all if it was a misremembered dream, i mean the evil farming game was literally a vinesauce stream and i know i've gotten dreams and reality mixed up!
Yeah, I had that same thought. You definitely wouldn't be allowed to show something like that on cable TV unless it was actually much milder than they remembered it being (which does definitely happen in these types of cases sometimes, especially if they were a kid when they saw it.)
I totally agree, the whole time I was hearing about it I was reminded of a dream I had once where you saw infrared footage from the inside of a machine that a man accidentally fell into on a game show. I also think the detail of the cartel leader staring at the machine while you hear the guy screaming for like 20 seconds sounds weirdly excessively long to be real, but idk!
Does one die if they get their skin removed? I read a book where an archmage punishes one of her servants with a spell that removes her skin and I guess she sends her to hell after that. The thing is she didn't die.
@@juliankohler5086 I imagine she was kept alive with magic or something in your book. Although wouldn't being sent to hell imply that she died? In real life, having a large portion of your body skinned would result in and enormous amount of pain and would cause shock, which sometimes can result in death. If you didn't die from the shock, you would get a serious infection from all the contact with bacteria and stuff that your skin would have normally been a barrier against, and that would likely kill you. There are situations though where it's a small enough amount of skin, such as in de-gloving, that doctors are able to do skin grafts (or possibly just use the same skin that got de-gloved? I don't know about that though) and keep the area protected and clean enough. Theoretically you could get a skin graft for a large amount of your body, but since you wouldn't have much/any skin left, it couldn't be grafted from your own body. So they would use a donor, and I'm pretty sure that just like with an organ being donated, there's the possibility of it being rejected. Also that kind of surgery is extremely difficult and takes a very long time. I'm not a doctor or anything lol, I just have a lot of medical knowledge and enjoy reading about shit like this.
Idk why but the Pelzer Sluice story is so funny to me. Just the name and the image of Italian mobsters ordering his henchmen to "throw him in the Pelzer Sluice" along with him smelling his skin like a sweater is sending me. "The smell of a naysayer" is also a great line
Just an observation on the "Pelzer Sluice" thing - there's a minor location in Xenoblade Chronicles 2 called 'Pelza's Sluice'. I checked OP's profile and he is indeed a Xenoblade Chronicles player. Draw your own conclusions.
i saw that too! i wonder if op just had a really vivid dream w a something close to a phrase from his real life thrown in there by his subconscious. bc i can’t imagine that level of gore being allowed on tv tbh, unless it was less gory than he remembers.
@@catrinamercado6373 He never addressed this when it was brought up to him on the original reddit post so I think it was either a dream and he's too embarrassed to admit it, or he just lied about the whole thing. Probably the former.
This sub helped me find an old ass computer game called Dare To Dream 2. I remember it being dark, dreadful, and frightening, with a monster waiting for you across a bridge. Come to find out, it's actually a cute little whimsical game, but I'm still happy to have that memory put to rest
Ha! I remember a downright terrifying scene of a dinosaur museum game where you’re in a hallway, hiding, and a T. rex slowly walks by, absolutely dwarfing you and being terrifying- roaring and sniffing for you. Asked the sub, and turns out it was a small T. rex, you aren’t hiding, and it passes by you without looking for you or roaring.
If the clown short is ever found, i would hope the audience never stopped laughing. Honestly would give a artsy feel, symbolic about how cruel the world is and how that can often take tolls on people
The Pelzer Sluice one sounds like it could be a dark comedy, seeing how over-the-top and comical it is. Especially how the Mob Boss sniffs the skin and follows it up with a catchphrase lol.
I can't believe the first lost media case I recognised!! Before it was even mentioned I was saying to myself "and he couldn't wash off his makeup, right?" ... I've definitely seen this and can visualise it, albeit vaguely because it was a long time ago. I'm tempted to suggest "grizzly tales for gruesome kids" as a show to have a look through, especially since some people mentioned recognising it from the UK.. I haven't done any deep diving into if it could be a possibility, but it does track for style! Looks like I'm going to have to try do some searching now too Edit to add; VERY great video!! I got so caught up in realising I knew one personally that I almost forgot to say how much I enjoyed watching!! 😅
i've loved seeing the few people that remember some of these comment on here! some others remembered the vampire one. it's really cool you've seen it before, and thank you so much! :)
i've just checked the wiki page that lists every grizzly tales for gruesome kids episodes and none of the descriptions match the episode sadly, i hope it gets found though!
i’m pretty sure i have the Pelzer Sluice one solved. It was likely a dream. I’m a massive fan of the Xenoblade Chronicles series and it instantly made me think of something. In Xenoblade 2 there’s a location in the kingdom of Uraya called “Pelzas Sluice”. Looking at OPs post history they have posted in r/XenobladeChronicles before so i think it’s very likely that they had a dream where they heard the name.
The second story sounds very familiar. I remembered the first line being more like "oh how we truly are the victims of our own sins" or something to that affect. I remembered finding it weird because it was similar to a Bible verse and I remembered it had ALOT of religious, somewhat heretical, undertones. But for the life of me I can't remember what it was called.
Update: I just remembered this particular story was in one of those books with a ton of short stories, and I belived it was a translated story from another country. I remembered checking it out when i was in high school and had to go to the international books section and write a review on it. I think it was either European or swedish? I barely remember.
@Kevin Pazos There's a few libraries in my area, including my school's with fairly good international sections. I'll have to take a look through them when I find the time, because I'm very intrigued..
@@Sadie-rai I read this around 12 or 13 years ago when I was back in high school. All I remembered was it was some book with a ton of short stories, and it was one of the last ones.
omg you're onto it! I don't think it's actually Goncharov but the failed animated Goncharov series of shorts where they show the fates of the minor characters. I reckon this scene is Mario being tortured for his betrayal.
Love these obscure ones, very cool for you to put them out to the world like this, hopefully the right person sees it. Loved the visuals on this vid, helped me to visualize what the op was getting at. Awesome vid as always, and Happy Halloween!
I know that Pelzer was a hydro company and a sluice is a type of water gate that would let water come through very quickly and powerfully. Also, in Pelzer South Carolina there is a large hydroelectric project with a very significant dam. Dams need a sluice to run. They’re a gate that can be opened for a pressurized stream of water to go through. Basically a sluice is a channel, controlled with a gate that can direct a significant amount of water. When he said Pelzer Sluice, he could be referring to putting someone in a small channel to make something come out of it later. Assuming he didn’t mishear it, maybe that’s it.
I vividly remember seeing a smokey the bear commercial where it shows a forest on fire, you can hear the crackling of the flames, and then like 2 or 3 times as loud as the fire, a voice goes, "Why? WHY?" and then it cuts to smokey going "Only you can prevent forest fires." super innocuous, but scared the shit out of like 8 year old me at 11 or 12 at night. I've watched a ton of Smokey commercials in recent years trying to find it, but have had no luck. Hopefully I'll be able to watch it again one day and laugh at my younger self.
ua-cam.com/video/92xPM7JR2NU/v-deo.html I know this isn't a Smokey the Bear PSA, but is this possibly what you are remembering? It seems similar to what you were describing. Warning, it's kind of disturbing
I generally dont like reddit, but tomt, rbi, lostmedia, unresolvedmysteries, and lostwave have kept me on reddit whenever i come close to deleting it. Its such awsome forum for niche interests. A lil while ago, tomt helped me find a song my old job played on the intercom once. Turns out, it was an incredibly popular song. Since then, ive been trying to motivate myself to write another tomt requests, but this time, of an old commercial from either 2006 to 2008. I remember seeing it at least twice and getting scared of it both times, despite it not being the intention of the commercial. I remember a lot of the details around the commercial, but not the actual thing it was advertising, nor the network it was on, but i have some educated guesses. The things keeping me from writing it, is the idea that tomt is already oversaturated with requests for old, obscure commercials, and those seem impossible to find. I also think i dont remember enough conclusive specific details about the commercial for anyone to know what it is, even if it turns out to be a well known commercial. I just really want to know what it was even advertising, if it was actually scary, and if someone else also knows or has seen the commercial. Also, sick use of Boards of Canada lol
I spent several years obsessing over a game that I couldn't remember the name of. The key points were a pixel art style, definitely rpg, and that you could play from multiple character's perspectives and different time periods. I never thought to ask about it on reddit, but I'd ask friends every so often, whenever I thought about it. Everyone always suggested Earthbound, Chrono Trigger, and Octopath Traveler, but it was none of those. I couldn't fathom why I couldn't find anything about it, as googling didn't bring anything up either, usually just Chrono Trigger. Then we got the localization. I was just watching a new Nintendo direct as usual and suddenly.. It turned out it was Live A Live, and since it was exclusive to Japan that explains why it was elusive. That reveal day was just about the happiest moment of my life at that point. It's such a relief to finally get closure for something that's been bugging you for years, and I'm very glad a subreddit like this exists.
The TOMT reddit is a godsend. I remember watching a TV series on public TV as a kid in the early 90s about a guy who traveled into the future and showed people of his own time that the burgeoning Environmental movement succeeds in making Earth a paradise. This spurs Humanity to work hard towards that future. Years pass and the elderly chrononaut is interviewed by a reporter and he confesses that he faked the footage and with the date he traveled to looming and people waiting for the craft to fly overhead the guy whose death will happen soon asks the reporter to activate a hologram projector of the time craft to keep the deception going. The reporter ends up destroying his story and turns on the hologram. I asked TOMT about it and got a hit almost immediately. It was an episode of The Ray Bradbury Theater titled "The Toynbee Convector" which is here to watch on UA-cam.
tomt is impressive, they managed to help me find a graphic novel despite me misremembering some major details. the book being The Sleepwalkers by vivian shwarz
I definitely remember watching a horror short on one of those channels like Alter that shows indie horror short films that fits the description of the vampire story. The isolated woman depressed about a miscarriage, the vampires, starting and ending with that exact same line. I can't recall the name or if there was definitely fetus-eating or not, but I know the woman killing her baby and then forgetting about it was for sure an element of the story. I wonder if someone based their short on the story in question, or if the op is remembering it as a story when it was actually that short?
@@sombertoboggly I remember seeing it at least a few years ago, and Alter frequently shows shorts that are 10-15 years old so it would potentially fit the timeline either as the original medium or as a piece inspired by the story. I recognized the story immediately and now it's going to bother me that I can't remember the title. 🤣🤦♀ I'll have to grab the link to the OP when I get a chance, maybe someone on the thread will know what the short was called.
@@zoeaylward95 I have not found it yet, but I'm also not giving up! I wish there were some way to search through your viewing history on UA-cam by specific channels, that would make it so much easier! I'll definitely come back and post here if I ever manage to find it. I asked a couple friends too if I might have shared it with them but nobody else remembered seeing it. For now, the hunt continues.
the vampire one sounds SO familiar to me but I have no idea from where. I love mysteries like these and I hope all of them get solved. amazing coverage!
the plezer sluice reminds me of a surreal nightmare i once had. there were these tourists who were led by their guide to a factory, where they were to receive a factory tour. in this dream i was watching this unfold on an old box tv in my parents' bedroom, which is a really strange perspective in a dream. anyway, the tourists went into the factory and got on this raft, similar to one you would see at a water theme park log flume ride. they were sent adrift on a conveyor belt, and there were odd cartoon sound effects playing on the tv as the sequence continued. then there was this big wheel with small holes in it attached to the ceiling as the conveyor belt slowly went up towards it. the tour guide watched the people inside as they were crushed under the wheel. the cartoon effects stopped and there was screaming, then crunching, squishing, very unpleasant sounds. in the dream i tried to look away from the tv but then my mother came in and told me to keep watching. the camera went back to the tour guide who smiled and said "they've been turned into human olives!" and then it showed the deflated raft, post crushing, and the people, who had been pressed into a gruesome and melted-looking sheet of flesh with weird bumps where the holes of the wheel had been.
Old comment, but I can't help but wonder if that wasn't inspired by a scene from a movie called Nothing but Trouble. There was a few scenes with a rollercoaster called 'Mr. Bonestripper', which did something similar.
Something about the Pelzer Sluice one gives me the creeps - I think it's the mystery of not knowing what the fuck a pelzer sluice is, a "nothing is scarier" kind of thing, so I kinda hope it never gets solved lol. That whale one is so interesting though and I really hope that one gets found, I'm so curious if the plot really was what OP remembered it to be!
It's amazing that one of my favourite games, Kenshi, was mentioned here. That peeler machine is actually called a Skin Peeler, and it's a machine exclusively to a faction called the "Skin Bandits", comprised of Skeletons (not boney skeletons, but machine people), that hunt down humans and stick them in the Skin Peeler, and the sole purpose is so they can wear their skin and fulfil their beliefs that they're human, and pretend that they are. Amusingly, the leader of the Skin Bandits, Savant, is a human who somehow manipulated the Skin Bandits into thinking he's one of them.
Could ABSOLUTELY be wrong about this considering the differences, but the fish short immediately reminded me of episode one of the series of animated shorts called Mr stain on junk alley. There's nothing about an old man preparing a fish, however there is a cartoony cutesy fish and someone getting eaten by it with the fish being eaten at the end. It's also definitely foreign (it's Japanese) and was animated in the early 2000s. Not sure if it has any connection to HBO though.
Me and my mom had one of these of our own that lasted at least a decade. All we could remember was cartoon aliens saying “donuuuuts” in a stereotypical alien voice when I was a kid and taking them from some other characters. Over the years I went between thinking it was from Kipper the Dog or the claymation show Dragon, and maybe Babar for a time.. . Turns out it was from George and Martha, which is stylistically similar to Kipper, and also aired on HBO Kids around the same time Dragon and Babar did. My mom literally called me when she found the clip earlier this year and we lost our shit over it. Ironically, I’m almost certain had I been old enough to remember the clip a bit more than my mom’s impression I probably would have been able to figure it out. One of them was voiced by Nathan Lane of all people, and I’m a huge theatre and Disney person.
The clown one hit a little close to home with the whole it must be hard seeing a piece of media with suicide as a kid that age. I saw something like that as a kid and I've been trying to deal with it recently although I know what media I saw I still can't sit through that scene yet. I respect the op in that story a lot for wanting to face that trauma I can't imagine what it must be like to have something so traumatising being seemingly lost
hi! i wanna say, i just found your channel and i love the type of content you make! something about mysteries or the way your videos make me feel.. its unsettling and creepy but in a fun way anyway, thanks for reading may you always have joy in your heart
I love your music choices!! Love the electronic vibe & I’ve only rarely heard Boards of Canada be used for videos, I love them & it’s nice hearing them pop up in a video :)
I hope some of these mysteries in both parts of this video get solved, some of the films sound really interesting. Your channel is pretty nice for talking about this more obscure stuff, keep up the good work !
UA-cam recommended a bunch of your videos to me and I've been enjoying them a lot--you've earned a subscriber! (I know this video is slightly older but it's the most recent one I've watched, haha.) Also I just wanted to say that seeing all these Reddit mysteries made me finally decide to try to look into an old toy I've had for as long as I could remember. I almost posted on Reddit about it, only to notice the copyright info on it, which led me down a rabbit trail to find my toy was of a character from an obscure 80s anime that I'd NEVER heard of until now. So uhh... thanks for spurring me into looking this up! %D;
The vampire story sounds vaguely familiar to The Vegetarian, a Korean horror novel that has similar themes of nightmares and meat, although in The Vegetarian she has a disgust for meat. No vampires though!
The 3DS app that lannd_fury mentioned at 24:29 was probably Nintendo Video, though looking at the Wikipedia page for it, none of the listed plot synopses seem to even mention fish. "Too Cool Cartoons!" is listed as being various shorts from Cartoon Hangover, but it's listed as a comedy, and I'm not sure Frederator would make something in the style described? It's possible that it was simply missed, but I watched stuff put on Nintendo Video as a kid, and I don't remember this. ... Though, to be honest, I really only mostly remember watching Bee and Puppy cat on there back then, haha.
Loving the video so far! I had to pause during the clown bit to say something real quick - Darkdubh says that they're Irish in their original forum post, which implies that the "dubh" part of their u/n should be pronounced similarly to the English word "dove". "Dubh" is Irish Gaelic for the color black - so their u/n would be "dark black"
Some of these may be short films. There are several on UA-cam. Also there's several anthology films and one is called ABCs of death. I wouldn't be surprised if at least one of these came from that movie.
I can't help but suspect that the fish animation was actually supposed to be a dark comedy and OP was just too young for that sort of thing to land right; I had a lot of experiences like that as a kid.
i vividly remember a book i read in elementary school, and ive posted about it incessantly, but nobody ever responds to me. i have no idea what it was called, who the author was, or even what the cover looked like (other than that it may have been a white wall), but the story... it was about this woman living in an abandoned asylum. she didn't realize it was abandoned, she was just aware that she did not get served food anymore and had to eat the paint off of the walls. i don't remember her name, i don't think she had one, but most of the book was her recounting her life, and i believe she had a daughter? who was a major part of the story, however i might be making thar part up. i've been looking for this book for YEARS, i just want to reread it again 😭
@@nikkydalby7126 not sure exactly how to answer that. again, she was recounting memories, those involved other people, but as for the present (in the book) she was alone
I think I read a webcomic/manga once about a woman carrying a vampire child, maybe based on the same story? I don't know, it just reminded me of that. anyways, can I just say how much I appreciate your excellent choice of music for your videos!!
Pelzer Sluice isn't German for the following reasons: 1. The word Pelz means "fur" in German, or metaphorically "fur coat". The focus is on the hair, not on the skin. The adjective pelzig means "furry" or "shaggy". There is no word Pelzer. That's just not how German works - it sounds like someone without any knowledge of the language was trying to contruct the equivalent to the English word "skinner". It can't be a skinning machine, because that's not how you make leather or fur coats. Body shapes are irregular, so when you skin an animal, you can't just insert it into a machine and the machine does all the work. You may work with an electric scalpell or something like that, but the main work would have to be done or closely supervised by a person in order to not ruin the skin, especially when you're in the high end fur coat business. Theoretically, if such a machine existed, it would be called Enthäuter in German - literally "de-skinner". 2. Sluice can't be German, because the combination S followed by L only exists in a handful of foreign loanwords (like slang or slogan). It's not common and definitely not an originally German word. English words of Germanic origin, that start with SL start with SCHL in German: Sling = Schlinge Sleep = Schlaf To slide = schlittern Sluice sounds like someone without any knowledge of German was trying to construct the equivalent of the English word "to slice". There's no German word, that comes close to this. Schneiden means "to slice" or "to cut". 3. Words starting with SL are more common in Dutch, but I'm not an expert. As far as I can tell with my limited knowledge of Dutch, it doesn't make any sense in that language either. Neither of the words work in Russian, just to get the Goncharov remark out of your minds. To me the whole Pelzer Sluicer thing sounds like someone incompetent was trying to make up a scary German term for a story. It's of course possible, that someone did that for a movie or TV show. This bull$hit excuse for actual words is about the level of German, that Hollywood executives usually manage to reach in big budget productions, tbh. But I think it's something that someone did in their spare time after a 3 minute search on a bad translation app after midnight. 4. I'll spare you the effort of looking up what "meat grinder" means in German. It's Fleischwolf - literally "meat wolf". And properly cleaned, with different cutters inside the device, you can also make about 6 different types of Christmas cookies with a good one.
I love when people wants to find some media that scared them as children to face their fears. I believe everyone deserves that chance to heal their inner child.
hi! sorry to ask of this on an older video of yours, but it just seemed to be the best video to comment on. so ive wanted to make videos almost exactly like this one for years now, but ive just never had the courage or the knowledge to do so. but after watching this video, its inspired me to actually find topics to talk about that no one else has before, and i really think i can do it, but i just want to ask you a few questions to see if you can help me. 1: how do you find these hunts? do you just scroll on tomt until you find one interesting enough to include, or do you have any steps that you take to sort out any less interesting ones? 2: how do you make these videos? like, what editing software do you use and where do you get your clips from? and 3: do you have any general tips on how to make youtube videos? thank you, even if you dont see this!
i've spent a lot of time on reddit for years now, so some topics i cover are things i came across way before i started my channel and happened to remember. when i am on reddit in my free time i honestly just save posts that i find interesting and go from there! and for editing i am probably not the best person to ask, i currently do it all on my phone lmao but am going to get a computer soon. for now i use an app called VN editor, i get a lot of my clips from youtube too. hope that helps!
As someone else said, the animation with the fish could very well be Eskos (2009) but misremembered. It has 2 frail, robot like stickfigures which could be misremembered for an old man butchering a fish only for an intruder (not a human, a vulture-like bird) break in and eat everything they had stored for butchering. After their discover what happened, they begin hunting the bird down until eventually it all goes wrong with the bird escaping and one of the robots losing his hand.
I have a feeling the the “Pelzer Sluice” video is probably the Russian lathe accident mixed with a different gore video as the lathe turns the man into a fleshy blob as well.
Pelzer sluice being a mishearing would make sense, I don’t have an auditory processing disorder(only one that would relate would be autism spectrum disorder) as I tend to mishear stuff a lot and then just keep that mispronunciation until I learn the correct pronunciation but even then I have trouble correctly saying it(like pneumonia or specific) so it would make sense if the sluice was a mishear, the closest thing I could think it could be however is pelter suicide or pelter something or pelted juice or pelted something. Pelts seem correct to me for several reason not just the terms, but involving skin. I’ll search German and reply to this with updates
Ok done pelzer is a German occupational based surname meaning furrier and sluice gave a few options which include die schleuse which means lock, slucie(odd but ok), and floodgate being the closest. Slucie itself is a word which has 2 water related meanings, one is ‘a sliding gate or other device for controlling the flow of water, especially one in a lock gate’ the second is ‘an act of rinsing or showering with water’ so erm
the fish story reminds me of this weird i think Japanese movie that i watched as a kid called "swimming to sea" or "padak" its not exactly the same but OP was a child and might've misremembered it. Its about a bunch of fish being stuck in a tank outside a restaurant. They all have to try to work together to escape as one by one they die of pretty horrible deaths. I'm pretty sure one gets eaten because the others are hungry, one gets stuck in the filter, and a few get taken and violently butchered alive in the restaurant, i also remember some weird dream sequence in the middle. Its basically an echo of what OP talked about but its worth looking into.
I remember the clown one. it was awful for me, but i was really tiny at the time, like a little past toddler age, so my tiny brain just ran it through my head as i grew up. MIND YOU im born and raised in the US so i have no idea how i would watch a Colombian horror story on my tv without my parents knowing. i thought it was of american origin until now.
I love these videos bringing to light more obscure lost media cases, I'm reminded however of my own few lost media cases I was expecting that fish short to be an interpretation of the story about a fisherman and a wish granting fish, which reminded me of an animated short I saw specifically using Verizon's "video on demand" function back when I was a kid It's the story of an old lady's cat, and the cat has dreams of being able to travel the world. One day, some sort of British soldier guy visits the old woman, and when he leaves, he mistakes the cat for the hat and puts the cat on his head The cat is supposedly narrating the entire short, but when the cat realizes being mistaken for the soldier's hat now allows him to travel the world like he wanted, he exclaims "I'm seeing the world!" and is happy. It ends with the old lady being content with her new "lap cat" (aka; the soldier's original hat), and both the old lady and the cat basically get what they want (the cat traveling the world, and the old lady just wanting a lapcat) It drives me nuts that I can't find this one; most of my lost media goals are obscure internet content (deleted fanfics, youtube videos made by kids, deleted tumblr blogs), but this specific one being on Verizon's old "on demand" function makes it seem so close yet so far 😭😭😭
After scrolling through all of the posted and known videos that appeared on the 3DS “Nintendo Video” app, I can confirm that there were none that were similar to the last mystery mentioned. I do recall slightly unsettling things and a lot of differing animation styles, so it isn’t impossible that it was aired on the app like the last person from the story suggested they had seen it there. Hopefully it gets solved!
I for sure thought the vampire one was Poppy Z Brite! I've only read Lost Souls and in it, vampires are physically born but the process always kills the mother (even if she is also a vampire). I know the author has a lot of other stories based in that world, so maybe it's one of those?
There's one I've never been able to find, posted it everywhere - it's either a PSA or a TV show, British, and a kid is climbing over a fence. He slips and a spike goes through his chin under his jaw. Never been able to find anyone even discussing this except on my posts asking for help.
i know theres a real life event that happened in arizona USA where a man left his hotel key in the locked pool door behind him, so, wearing wet flip flops, he tried to crawl over the spiked fence, slipped, and impaled his jaw and neck. He was eventually found but he had to learn now to talk eat and swallow again
The stop motion fish animation sounds a lot like Eskos by Barnaby Dixon, not exactly the same but it is about 2 characters butchering a fish, then a thief comes in and attacks them, there are some major differences though
the 3ds service in the last one was definitely nintendo video. however a fan wiki's convenient list of like everything ever released through that probably doesn't seem to have such a Fish Short (closest thing to being promising was "swim swim swim" but i don't think that was it based on its thumbnail featuring a human swimmer. and i might have been desperate for Any Lead lol)
That Pelzer Sluice one just makes me think of the scene from Kingsman where the guy is put into a meat grinder: ua-cam.com/video/o5-yjO26ih0/v-deo.html Se says 'put him in the mincer', there's a first persion view as he's going inside it, and the machine spits out his clothes on one side and meat on the other. It's a pretty recent movie, so I don't think he'd confuse it so badly, but a lot of it kind of fits where you could see it getting confused with something else maybe
watching this made me vividly remember a movie i watched id like to say 2015-2016 time, most likely on a DVD. A girl was strapped to a chair and a dog was trying to save her.
A lot of the time when i remember names (like Pelzer) I'll kind of flip them around... Like "It was something like Leipzig sluice" If I'm confident I'm right then I'm usually right, but occasionally I'll go back and my mind will be blown that it's a totally different word that has the same vibe
I had one of these posted on one of these subs before but never had any bites. Thinking about this story I remember keeps me up some nights because I really want to read it again. But now that no one has replied I feel like maybe it was a dream or something? Not unheard of for that to happen as the evil farm game was also a mix of a dream and narration over a game.
There's this scene I remember watching as a kid. I don't know if it's from a movie or a show, but I only remember this one scene and nothing else. The guy who I assume was the main character is being confronted by two other people, telling him he wasn't a real person, telling him he was a robot with fake memories. He's in denial until one of them takes out a knife, cuts his arm open and instead of flesh, there's clearly metal underneath his skin. That's all I remember. This was mid 2000s at the latest. I've been trying to find this for a long time. I also have another one, but it comes second hand. I didn't watch this, my friend did. He said it was an "American Pie" style comedy, so probably early 2000s. He says the only scene he remembers is the 2 main characters going to a costume party, one of them dressed as a shower (similar to the shower costume from Karate Kid), and the other one was dressed as a penis. The movie was playing late at night and he fell asleep right after that. He's been trying to find what movie it was since then with no luck.
i think something similar to what you remember might happen in american horror story apocalypse? but that was only some years back so obviously isn't it. i also watched a decent amount of raunchy 2000s comedy movies when i was younger haha so i can look into both when i get the chance, thanks!
i remember the scene you're talking about too! i thought it might be from round the twist, an aussie show i didnt watch much as a kid but saw some scenes here and there, but looking at the wiki page about each episode none of the summaries match. in my head the argument took place in a house at the top of some stairs, by the railing? could definitely be making that part up tho lmao
@@Cecilia-wj8vw That's interesting. As far as I know, I've never watched that show, but I only remember that scene, so who knows. I don't really remember the *look* of the scene, more so what happened. But I believe, at least as far as I remember, that it might have happened in some hallway. Could still be a hallway at the top of some stairs. I wish I had a clearer image of what the scene looked like on the screen.
Great job Kylie!!! There's a super weird channel called GeeGee and I would love to hear your thoughts on it. I'm positive it's a regular art project but it's one of the creepiest things I've ever seen.
thank you! you mentioned that channel some months back so i took a look, and i'm pretty sure i actually used a clip from their channel in one of my videos. couldn't tell you which one though i don't remember haha. but i really liked some of those animations
@@sombertoboggly yes it's so weird, I really just wanted to hear your thoughts because the first time I saw the videos I was incredibly weirded out but entertained at the same time. It's my favorite combo, creeped out yet happy to have found some weird stuff to try to figure out. Some of the videos on that channel I HAD to figure out where the clips came from so I did some detective work and that was an adventure for real lol. Sorry I forgot I'd already told you, I hate sounding like a broken record but I'm super glad to pass that channel on to someone who is getting great use out of it
I don't have Reddit since I don't like the community around it, but I do want to try to find this movie my mom watched when I was younger. I remember coming into the room and laying on the couch, and it was some brutal 90s-looking alien movie, but I'm not sure if it was in that time. Cw for some pretty gross stuff. The scenes I remember included an alien taking a restrained pregnant woman's child out of her stomach, and the inside of wherever they were looked very fleshy. I also remember the ending scene where some police or investigator guy drove into the desert and some kind of end credits showed up that said something along the lines of "They haven't been found since" in reference to what I'm assuming is the alien abduction. I know it's not Skyline, but that's about as far as I could get. I know that if I did get Reddit and put this on TOMT, I wouldn't go back to check it simply because I don't like using the app, so I'm hoping putting this on a video about it will get somewhere.
The vampire story IMMEDIATELY made me think of Sharons Baby [EDIT: Its actually Rosemarys Baby, misremembered the title] -- a movie where a pregant woman is cursed to girl birth to a baby possessed by the devil. From what I remember, she ALSO had a scene where she ate raw meat, but I could be wrong there. It's a movie that isn't exactly based on a book or vampries and isn't the SAME thing at ALL but that's the way the brain works I suppose
Isn't it called _Rosemary's_ Baby? Maybe you're misremembering as "Sharon's" baby because Sharon Tate Polanski was the name of the director's wife who was murdered by the Manson family. The director is called Roman Polanski. That film is very old and it's absolutely awesome still. I think it's on Amazon Prime.
@@juliankohler5086 Yes that was it!! I watched it at my grandmother's house way back when and her name is Sharon so that probably messed with my brain a little bit too. Thanks for the correction!!
My memory for my childhood days is horrible but I remember the Clown episode (?) short? I wish I can help a little more but I'm not sure on what channel I saw it, but I'm from Mexico so it must be a kind-of international distributed animation. I have the last scene so clear in my head, with the sound and everything as well as the laugh track... but... I was kind of a sensitive child so I remember putting it into the same mental box as Ren & Stimpy and other stuff in TV/early internet to close it and forget it and never talk about it.

"The smell of a naysayer" is also a great line
my sides were hurting bc of how many times pelzer sluice was said
I think it might be from a video game. It contains live action footage and it's called Harvester. It sounds like something from that game.

Before it was even mentioned I was saying to myself "and he couldn't wash off his makeup, right?" ... I've definitely seen this and can visualise it, albeit vaguely because it was a long time ago. i’m pretty sure i have the Pelzer Sluice one solved.
But for the life of me I can't remember what it was called.
sounds like you definitely read the same story, love to hear other people's encounters with these tomt posts!
Update: I just remembered this particular story was in one of those books with a ton of short stories, and I belived it was a translated story from another country. Pelzer Sluice is definitely a scene from the very obscure Scorsese film, Goncharov (1973)

I wonder if someone based their short on the story in question, or if the op is remembering it as a story when it was actually that short?
it being a short and not a story would explain why it wasn't found! definitely possible, or like you said one is based on the other.
@@sombertoboggly I remember seeing it at least a few years ago, and Alter frequently shows shorts that are 10-15 years old so it would potentially fit the timeline either as the original medium or as a piece inspired by the story. the plezer sluice reminds me of a surreal nightmare i once had. there were these tourists who were led by their guide to a factory, where they were to receive a factory tour. in this dream i was watching this unfold on an old box tv in my parents' bedroom, which is a really strange perspective in a dream. anyway, the tourists went into the factory and got on this raft, similar to one you would see at a water theme park log flume ride. they were sent adrift on a conveyor belt, and there were odd cartoon sound effects playing on the tv as the sequence continued. then there was this big wheel with small holes in it attached to the ceiling as the conveyor belt slowly went up towards it. the tour guide watched the people inside as they were crushed under the wheel. the cartoon effects stopped and there was screaming, then crunching, squishing, very unpleasant sounds. in the dream i tried to look away from the tv but then my mother came in and told me to keep watching. the camera went back to the tour guide who smiled and said "they've been turned into human olives!" and then it showed the deflated raft, post crushing, and the people, who had been pressed into a gruesome and melted-looking sheet of flesh with weird bumps where the holes of the wheel had been.
Jesus Christ that sounds terrifying
I don't want to know what's going on in your brain

I don’t know why but "Chuck him in the Pelzer Sluice" carries the same energy as "Prank em, John".
They're like the necron flayed ones?
Could ABSOLUTELY be wrong about this considering the differences, but the fish short immediately reminded me of episode one of the series of animated shorts called Mr stain on junk alley. There's nothing about an old man preparing a fish, however there is a cartoony cutesy fish and someone getting eaten by it with the fish being eaten at the end. It's also definitely foreign (it's Japanese) and was animated in the early 2000s. Not sure if it has any connection to HBO though.
It's also completely without dialogue, which also reminded me of the description.
This makes sense as it seems to be made by the same guys who did Popee the Performer which that show was edgy and violent as fuck

Pelzer Sluice isn't German for the following reasons:
English words of Germanic origin, that start with SL start with SCHL in German:
Sling = Schlinge
Sleep = Schlaf
To slide = schlittern
Sluice sounds like someone without any knowledge of German was trying to construct the equivalent of the English word "to slice".
And properly cleaned, with different cutters inside the device, you can also make about 6 different types of Christmas cookies with a good one.
your music choice is always spot on, love it
Spotted the clip from the "OBSCURE" pv by Dir en Grey during the grieving vampire mother portion. Class.
I love when people wants to find some media that scared them as children to face their fears. I believe everyone deserves that chance to heal their inner child.
Just found one of my new favorite channels !
hi! sorry to ask of this on an older video of yours, but it just seemed to be the best video to comment on. so ive wanted to make videos almost exactly like this one for years now, but ive just never had the courage or the knowledge to do so. but after watching this video, its inspired me to actually find topics to talk about that no one else has before, and i really think i can do it, but i just want to ask you a few questions to see if you can help me.
I love the search videos. I'd be interested in a video like this, but solved mysteries.
perhaps it is on the list for future videos
I really hope you make more of these. Not only are they enjoyable to listen to, but these are fun little rabbit holes to explore
it'll be an ongoing series!
Oh no......
This channel is going to blow up soon!!! Love it!
Your youtube channel is so good I swear to god these videos are so entertaining thank you for existing
the fish story reminds me of this weird i think Japanese movie that i watched as a kid called "swimming to sea" or "padak" its not exactly the same but OP was a child and might've misremembered it. Its basically an echo of what OP talked about but its worth looking into.
i think steve reviews reviewed this. its called padak-padak or just padak. it was sooo messed up 😭
It's Korean by the way, Padak roughly translates to "flap", as in an onomatopoeia
I love these videos bringing to light more obscure lost media cases, I'm reminded however of my own few lost media cases
I was expecting that fish short to be an interpretation of the story about a fisherman and a wish granting fish, which reminded me of an animated short I saw specifically using Verizon's "video on demand" function back when I was a kid
It's the story of an old lady's cat, and the cat has dreams of being able to travel the world. One day, some sort of British soldier guy visits the old woman, and when he leaves, he mistakes the cat for the hat and puts the cat on his head
The cat is supposedly narrating the entire short, but when the cat realizes being mistaken for the soldier's hat now allows him to travel the world like he wanted, he exclaims "I'm seeing the world!" and is happy. It ends with the old lady being content with her new "lap cat" (aka; the soldier's original hat), and both the old lady and the cat basically get what they want (the cat traveling the world, and the old lady just wanting a lapcat)
It drives me nuts that I can't find this one; most of my lost media goals are obscure internet content (deleted fanfics, youtube videos made by kids, deleted tumblr blogs), but this specific one being on Verizon's old "on demand" function makes it seem so close yet so far 😭😭😭
It’s probably not this, but is it hot fuzz? It’s British and a character slips and impales his bottom jaw on the roof of a model church!
The stop motion fish animation sounds a lot like Eskos by Barnaby Dixon, not exactly the same but it is about 2 characters butchering a fish, then a thief comes in and attacks them, there are some major differences though
So glad i found this gem of a channel
I’m always looking forward your uploads, very cool!
I love these videos. I'd love to see more in the future!
happy to hear that, i plan on it! :)
the 3ds service in the last one was definitely nintendo video. however a fan wiki's convenient list of like everything ever released through that probably doesn't seem to have such a Fish Short (closest thing to being promising was "swim swim swim" but i don't think that was it based on its thumbnail featuring a human swimmer. and i might have been desperate for Any Lead lol)
That Pelzer Sluice one just makes me think of the scene from Kingsman where the guy is put into a meat grinder:
ua-cam.com/video/o5-yjO26ih0/v-deo.html
Se says 'put him in the mincer', there's a first persion view as he's going inside it, and the machine spits out his clothes on one side and meat on the other. It's a pretty recent movie, so I don't think he'd confuse it so badly, but a lot of it kind of fits where you could see it getting confused with something else maybe
this genuienly brightened my day, thanks!!
Awesome content! You have gained a new subscriber!
Hey Kylie I really went a maraton for all your videos, so cool! but I want to know what was that animation at 8:02 thnk you!
thanks! the animation that plays a few seconds after that is this ua-cam.com/video/Q-P52pl6l0Q/v-deo.html
11:57 maybe its pel ze instead of pelzer because pel ze means peal them in dutch
watching this made me vividly remember a movie i watched id like to say 2015-2016 time, most likely on a DVD. A girl was strapped to a chair and a dog was trying to save her.
A lot of the time when i remember names (like Pelzer) I'll kind of flip them around... Like "It was something like Leipzig sluice"
If I'm confident I'm right then I'm usually right, but occasionally I'll go back and my mind will be blown that it's a totally different word that has the same vibe
Oh also if they watched two shows/movies at the same time and got elements mixed up, not everything would need to match
you are doing a great job Kylie. Love your vids. Keep it up
thank you!
more of this pls!! great video ❤
Wait! The first one sounds like a twilight zone episode! Could it be the episode “In His Image”?
I was gonna say the same thing as the comment above me. Sounds like maybe a Twilight Zone episode (maybe the remake series in the early 2000s)
No way this video only have 600 views that's crazy I was actually shocked deserves way more
yo this vampire story must have been one hell of a chronic. god damn
Off topic, I love the silent hill songs you have in your videos! Love hearing clawfinger
Content warning? Oh yeah this video's gonna be amazing 😍
Love the use of Dir En Grey's "Obscure" music video as B-roll!!
Sorry I forgot I'd already told you, I hate sounding like a broken record but I'm super glad to pass that channel on to someone who is getting great use out of it
The fish one reminds me of the old anime Mr. Stain/Gar-Ra-Ku-Ta, might wanna pursue that lead.
I know that if I did get Reddit and put this on TOMT, I wouldn't go back to check it simply because I don't like using the app, so I'm hoping putting this on a video about it will get somewhere.
have no idea what this could be but i hope someone else might!
It's Rosemary's Baby.
Babe wake up new kylie upload
And for HALLOWEEN too
Was just wondering where you'd went
Pelzer Sluice really reminds me of something Dr evil from Austin Powers would have and use in a comedic way
