  • After measuring hundreds of thousands of swings, we know what separates the good players from the not-so-good players. Our friends at GOLF.com have taken this data and looked at the skills that separate these players at impact. And now VP of Instruction, Nick Clearwater, and Director of Teaching Quality, Patrick Nuber, are expanding on this information and sharing show you can use this knowledge to better your swing at impact.

Thanks Brad. Much appreciate and realize you have lots of content that might be informational rather than retail instruction. Technology is great and allows us to gather all the stats, etc.
I truly appreciate your commentary re "Shift" rather than "turn"/twist. Much better fundamental thought than "turn" which gets everyone twisting their hips and often results in reverse pivot for newer golfers. If you shadow box a "shift" into your right side your back will be pretty much point at target automatically. We have all seen the X factor discussed whereas the hips have minimal twits and yet back gets much deep behind target. Thanks again!

At about 7:50 Nick mentions he will talk about how to set up one's cellphone to video yourself but then never get's back to that so is there any chance of the bullet points on how to do that set-up? Looking forward to my next Golftec lesson now that things are opening up here in Ontario, Canada.

Hey Christian, Brad here with GOLFTEC. Ideally getting a cheap tri pod that you can setup at hand height and position the middle of the camera right on your hands. This is the same angle we use in our hitting bays. Hope that helps

I enjoyed watching this video. I came across these three items about a month ago on my own because I had started hooking the ball. When I consistently 1) shift my hips first, 2) tilt my shoulders slightly, and 3) turn my hips towards the target through impact, I get some of my best golf hits (which is a great feeling for a high handicap player). I worked on each of these three items individually until I felt comfortable. I added a 4th step which is I am now more mindful of the clubface direction through what I call the "impact zone" (i.e., about 3 inches before and after the ball). This video helped put into words and reinforced what I had been working on recently out of necessity. 😊(FYI, I learned how to swing a golf club at GoftTech 15 years ago. It's good to see GolfTec still helping people play good golf.)

Just want to clarify, when swaying the hips at impact/start of downswing, the shoulders don't sway forward at all?
