Hi, I`m student of industrial engineering (in Chile... then sorry for my bad english!) I have two years old in the university in this career... Industrial eng. is better than any other engineering because is a flexible career in all areas... Tough in Chile is a little diferent, ind. eng. is, in us essence, for modeled all situations and solve this models... If you are a person who likes the sistems and solves, this carreer is for you..
Yeah right, be proud of being industrial engineer, we are the leader of other engineers. We are the head/brain of the system of all process,We make this life being better and better. We are genius..
I just graduated from industrial engineering last year and this is the best engineering for me, it is related with almost everything, it's a flexible career where you can develop yourself in any field you can imagine
I graduated with a civil engineering degree and always planned to go into management either 15-20 years into my career. Designing can get boring. I might have the opportunity to work right away as an industrial engineer.
its the bridge between engineering and management, IE is about optimizing operations in order to maximize profits. You are a business engineer in fact.
Mechanical engineer understands mechanisms and machines and may invent, develop or design various machines. Industrial engineers redesigns them to make them economically productive, that means less costly to produce and sell.
Im IIE, and basically you´re looking for improve all the operations in the company, and how you made that? well, all is about to make efficient all the process (admin and productives areas) and the basis is reduce costs with the same proefficiente or improve this...with what i can made that? thats what you and your genius can do....but basically is reducing costs or improve the activities of your company.
@speedycatz Simply, IEs job is optimum utilization of available resources to achieve the best outcome of the project/ activity. @speedycatz, if you are a good "technical" and "real" engineer in this engineering world, we might hire you. Yes, it seems that you are a good resource.
i have just been promoted. from now on ill be an industrial engineer and i got no idea how to do my job. i used to be just a simple car mechanic. fuck this shit only hope i can manage but seems like this job is well beyond me
I can't help but notice they're trying to sell it as the stereotypical dream job. I mean, Disneyland and a chocolate factory? Ah hell, I'll still probably end up going into it.
I'd go for industrial engineering mainly because it'll benefit me. I'm a nurse and IT professional so getting some background in ergonomics, production systems, and operations research (stuff that're common concepts in IE) would definitely be helpful to augment in my capacity as a health informaticist.
No....is no the true, I recomend that you read the book of Shigeo Shingo, after that. if you want studie IEE you are welcome, im working in Quality Control and i dont need any Mechanical background, i have some but is not need it at all unless you work on the machining area. like cnc lathe or something like that...

Your in the right Course than other Engineering course... IE is the best... in terms of Problem solvers...
This video is homework for my class and it also is very informative and interesting.
I'm a Senior in Industrial Engineering at NC State. Average starting salary is around $57,000. And yes, that software was Arena.

Really informational video, I'm considering majoring in industrial engineering in college.
Its great that after 4 years in IT you realize this is what you rather want to do...
i love studying industrial engineer... is the best career for me! :)

مشاء الله....مشاء الله....☝
Engineering is quite difficult. I was top 3% on many canadian national contests, yet i had problems with the exams/tests.
@TheAlankwits
one could argue, that it could be called, "Economy of Scale Engineering".
What the different between industrial engineer and mechanical engineer
Mechanical engineer understands mechanisms and machines and may invent, develop or design various machines. Industrial engineers redesigns them to make them economically productive, that means less costly to produce and sell.
Great presentation on engineering.
great videos, i think ie still have lots development space, with the technology innovation.
i'm from china, senior student of dept.I.E.

that's what i realy need to know
It's my job wonderful ♥️
proud to be an IEM student
I have the same question, I'm getting an IE degree but have not idea where is the difference...
it was a great share really
thanks for posting
I totally agree
I want to learn to use that simulation software, was it Arena???
IE superb!!!
I learned that industrial engineers use potato cams.

@AlohaBay really?? do they get paid more than business majors?
nice.. thx girl..

wat are the prerequisites !!!

Sold
Which engineering major includes less math then other engineering majors?
Every engineering has a huge portion dedicated to maths. It is inevitable
juan rolas multi million dollar maker gave me a scholarship for any of the top universities in the U.S just so i become a industrial engineer
out of civil, industrial, mechanical and electrical which would you choose? im trying to decide

cool thanks
IE are suits with some math and physics.
@pincus27 - If you are sitting on an Ergonomic Chair comfortably, give thanks to IE. It is our imagination.
hummm, the maths are a strong part of the engeniering, but there is nothing that a few nights without any sleep could fix

Two words...too expensive
Why ALWAYS educational stuff is bad quality. I wonder a College which have $1 billion Dollars in its bank account , can buy a HD Camera!!
WATERLOO MANAGEMENT ENG!
Thanks for 286,000$ on a year.
HD babe -_-
It's an engineering degree for people who fail in the "real" engineering world. Can't do any technical engineering design to save their asses.
engineers are problem solvers
Female engineers are so rough and masculine >:(
just kidding :D
