  • Luka Doncic isn't perfect. But we can ALL learn from the unorthodox qualities that make him unique.

I stopped watching nba after Jordan et Luka bring me back, what a beautiful player to see, i watched maybe 80% of the Mav's games the last 5 years. I still cant understand this trade, i am gonna be a Laker's fan now, they dont give me the choice, they will regret this trade for long time... oufff

Why the hell do people think a lack of abs = doesn’t work hard, is out of shape, or is not motivated? Literally no one has played more minutes in the last 6 years. No one has spent more time on the game or the things that matter in the game.
And the fact that he’s 250-260 (no, I don’t buy the 270 report - that’s Nico running cover) is part of what makes him impossible to guard. Listen to other players talk about it.
One more thing: the bad defense narrative have driven us Luka fans insane. He was top 3 in points per possession in ISO in the league this year, top two in the playoffs last year. He led the league in steals and deflections in the playoffs in every round. A fascinating video would be how he’s actually a great defender (objectively, in points given up per possession as primary defender) despite not being fast or a rim protector. Just a thought.
One more thing: Mavs defensive efficiency rating went down last year, and in the playoffs, and without him on the court this year. 🤔

Facts. It’s a shame casuals who don’t even WATCH Mavs games lap up the narrative spewed to them by talking heads who’ve never even played the game.

Almost 40 minutes every game almost 100 games last season. He forced himself to play injured to get his team into the finals. The reason his body couldnt heal and reacted that way this season

JJ, Luka, LeBron & Reaves will figure things out. I also know that the supporting staff is very good. Thank you for the video. You make some wonderful points.

This was good. he's got very good feel. Amazing vision and anticipation too. So I think if he gets motivated he'll be a pretty good help defender.
One thing that baffled me was how stressed out he got in the Finals because he's been a good loser in previous years. He's been to the Conference Finals and the Finals already. He's awesome when he's having fun. I think he Giannis and Joker are the best players right now, because they don't take things too serious. I hope he's able to find more joy in LA which can be pretty hard with their strange front office that talks in platitudes sometimes and BS other times. I think LA needs his fun side. I'm worried the kid will get burnt out too fast if he keeps complaining instead of feeling good about how good he is and how much better he can make a team.

Do you think his slow/'floaty' playstyle would work for a smaller guard? He is very deceptive and he plays with a lot of 'feel', a bit like zidane if you watch football. Please correct me if I'm wrong but it seems like playing at this slower pace gives him just enough time to process and react to the opposing team's setup, where it's somewhere in between conscious and subconscious. However, most of the smaller guards like steph/kyrie seem to be more aggressive in their dribbles, which means they fall victim to tunnel vision much more so than luka. The one guy that seems to be 'softer' in his approach is trae but he's less of a scoring threat than those two. Luka seems to be the only guard who can do both scoring and playmaking at an elite level, and I'm just wondering it is simply not possible for someone below 6'3. Please lmk your thoughts.

One thing I've noticed is he can get defenders on his hip and manipulate from that

The betrayal and secrecy was unnacceptable, you don't annouce to your 5 time all star franchise player you're trading him by calling his agent in the middle of the night when you have "loyalty never fades away" as a mantra on a Dirk statue outside your arena. That's simply vile, business or not. Just inhuman behavious in my opinion. Also I absolutely hate that his distress is now public spectacle for the world to consume.
But I kinda understand the trade. While basketball wise he was absolutely ready to win with the right team around him, leadership wise he isn't, that's why the Mavs got Brunson and then Kyrie. His basketball talent is way beyond his age, he was a prodigy, always played with older players and never took the leader role. I think he was stagnating in Dallas, and Kidd was at the end of what he could bring him. And with Kyrie and Klay they don't have time to waste so it's now Kyrie and Kidd's team.. This trade to LA with LeBron might be the best thing for him, he can't be the prodigy child anymore, he has to understand love and joy for the game isn't enough.

Media bias. Pure and simple. The fact that he was trailing behind SGA last year when Luka was averaging 33/9/9 is absolutely insane. Insane. That’s how clear the bias is against him.

You don't need to worry about this kid, he's a cleaner. Which also means that he doesn't give the media anything. L.A's going to despise him, just you watch. Doncic only has one goal, and that's to win, he sacrifices everything for it. So don't expect him to Hollywood or to please people, because he won't.

This video was more than likely made prior to the Dallas owners letter, which compared Luka’s work ethic to that of Shaq’s lackadaisical, work myself back into shape on the court approach.
That & the concerned teams visions played a huge role in this historic trade.

I might be wrong. But Luka and Lebron on the same side is scary. Basically like having Larry Bird and MJ on the same team. Won’t take long for this team to get new recruits even with less money on offer if you had these two as team mates. Luka is a special player with unique styles and the Mavs made a big mistake. I am sure ego might have played a part, however when you carry the team and finally get an all star to help you made the NBA finals. Imagine what they can do now in LA.

Lol gods aren’t real. You theists have a hard time conceptualizing the entire narrative you’ve bought into. From the beginning of the Bible to the end, you're getting a story about a narcissistic abuser that is constantly gaslighting and torturing his creation for not worshipping and obeying everything he wants because of the free will he gave them and the "curse" of sin he also created and the antics of a supernatural villain character(the devil)that he also created.
This god character fumbled so hard that he eventually has to just destroy it all and sort between the people who do worship and obey him and the people who do not. What an incredibly incompetent god you worship 😂🤦🏾. Luka is real though. GO LAKESHOW 🥰💜💛!!
