She is so gentle with the clients hair. I am not necessarily a fan of added “hair”, because the chemicals in that fake stuff I believe can further damage our hair. Grandma’s own natural hair looks healthy and beautiful. ❤❤
Grandma's hair has really grown. Great job! Wish she could post a side by side pic of Grandma hair when she first started til now (or a journey timeline in pictures). 🤗🤗🤗
I am growing my natural hair and for me I always use a small strand of crochet hair and add to my hair to two strand twist and loop it 2 or 3 times at the root and then two strand twist the rest of the way. It keeps me from pulling on my hair and it curls at the end. Everyone thinks it's my hair because it makes my hair fuller. And it gives my hair some weight, so it makes my hair move. When I tell people it's weave, they don't believe me. I have to take it out to show that it's now mine. But my hair is just as long as the crochet hair. I always use hair that looks like mine with just a hint of color. And I pull through the crochet hair to make it mimic my hair. I have arthritis so this helps me and I never put in a lot of twists. Sometimes I just put in 1 ponytail and add the crochet hair on the ponytail and slick my hair back. I never want to put tension on my own hair. And this is the way I protective style my hair. I will never stop using extensions because to me it's fun. And the more you use it the more it looks like your hair. When I wash my hair, I put in colorful yarns in my hair to stretch it. And I always use oil on the yarn so it doesn't take the oil from my hair. And this stretches my washed hair and keeps it from shrinking back. I have found some beautiful hair that looks so much like mine. It is so much fun now to do my hair. Also I found out a medication I was taking was breaking off my hair. Have fun with your natural hair and tell me what y'all are doing to your hair.
Thank you Samantha for a very informative conversation especially moisture retention well done! Grandma's hair looks amazing journey to waist length yeah!
I stop detangling my hair while wet. i shampoo one day, add leave-in condition then take down and detangle the next day, once my hair is dry. I mist it with Aleo Vera juice then add my Shea Butter recipe and hair grease, let it sit on my hair for at least an hour or longer, then I start taking down my hair and detangling it. I have noticed it is so much easier to separate the hair and I am losing less hair. I shampoo once a month (while still in braids). I am still not putting NO heat on my hair. I stretch my hair by adding large hair clips whenever my hair is damp. I like doing the African threading as well but due to the damage in two of my fingers, it is difficult to do now.

Hi Sam I sent an inquiry from your website regarding pricing. I’m planning a trip from Florida to the Cayman island early next year and I wanted to know how much two styles were so that way I can be prepared. ❤️ shoulda I call instead? Thank you.
What exactly is Grandma’s name?!! I was just wondering about her recently and wondering how she and her hair journey was doing her hair is beautiful !!!! And her consistently keeping her appointments for her hair care goes to prove 😅 your hair will grow!!! I need to make an appt I like that you are gentle with the hair are these 2 strands? How do you make an appt with you? Coming from Washington state and California I could come once every 2 months! And I would love twists!!!
Very informative video Sam. I learned so much in just a few minutes. I was always confused about porosity but your explanations was great. I think I'm low porosity for sure. Thank you🙂
So beautiful! Hi Sam, I finally tried the Mango Butter, I followed the same recipe as with the Shea Butter but I have to say, I do not like it lol! I don't like the texture and it didn't make my hair feels as soft or any different when I used it. I will finish up with what I made but will return back to the Shea Butter recipe.
SAM I LIVE IN THE UK, AND SINCE I CAME UPON YOUR CHANNEL, I HAVE BEEN FOLLOWING WHAT YOU SAY. BUT MY HAIR WILL NOT GROW!! I AM ABOUT GRANDMAS AGE, AND I HAVE SEEN HOW LONG HER HAIR HAS GROWN.
What is the ingredients you use can I do the same with my hair it grows I needed it to continue to grow thank you I need to thicken up my hair her hair is beautiful
Have been growing my hair for a year now but having trouble with braiding it. It has gotten thicker and softer having problem giving self a protective style.
First time watching your hair videos, just want to say i have 4c hair it grows but not too long the one problem i have is the hair is just not getting thick, what can i do?
My hair is natural I keep it in a protective style by twisting it I always keep it for 3 days, when I comb it out I get a lot of breakage it that normal if not what should I do to stop it..thank you
I do the same because for me after 3 days the twist looks messy, so I have to refresh them. I use a head wrap at night but doesn't stop it from mess in up.
Do you tie your hair with a cloth hair band or scrunchie first? Do you tie the wrap tight enough, so it does not move and rub against your hair while sleeping?
I notice when you part her hair, you scratch what looks like dandruff before twisting. Is that dandruff? My mom who did my hair back in the day used to call this growing dandruff.
She doesn't have flakes or dandruff that's me applying the gel before twisting. Bear in mind that her hair is also freshly washed so even if she had flakes you wouldn't see them now.
@@nuyorkina1 Yes that explains what I was seeing. I think I'll look for that product. If it's helping to keep the scalp moisturized that may be helping the hair growth. I am amazed how all her clients have such beautiful, full, long natural hair. My hair is too thin to wear braids like her clients but I want to try that gel.
Hi Rita, Grandma hair is growing past bra strap length, shoulder blade length and is growing towards waist length. It just goes to show it is never to late to begin a journey.
@@nuyorkina1 also I wanted to add. I am 61 years old and my hair is natural 4c hair. I'm doing everything you're doing but my hair just stop growing for some reason. I also have a lot of shrinkage. It's like my hair just fall to sleep and won't wake up.
@@ritamoppins5154 Hello Rita, everyone’s growth rate is different. And your curl pattern is one of the curliest on the plant. There are curls smaller than 4c. Also shrinkage equals health. I agree with you if I saturate my hair with tangles with oil and let it sit it seems to loosen up the tangles on its own.

Yes indeed, we don't want her name out there hence Grandma
Good morning Sam. Are you using gel on grandma's hair?
I have a question that I hope does not offend anyone. If your hair is naturally curly/coily but straightened for "length" check is that truly acurate?
It is accurate, shrinkage does not show one's true length.
Yes because when it's curly it's very hard to tell how much it has grown.
What can I do to keep my roots strong. Thank you.
