- The Mounted Patrol requires horses and riders to stay cool no matter what is going on. This video shows the tests they must pass in order to qualify for the Mounted Patrol. A volunteer organization, the Mounted Patrol does search and rescue, goes on patrol during times of natural disasters, and spreads good will in parades and demonstrations. This videos shows exercises that build trust and confidence between horses and riders. No set of exercises can bomb proof your horse, but these help. Make sure you do them under the supervision of a knowledgeable professional.
Me, too. It takes time to work with the horses. I've had horses for many years and they continue to astonish me.
I don't know, but I would imagine so. People in Mounted Patrol love it. Not only are there drills and trainings with the horses, but the Mounted Patrol helps in real search and rescue. We had a tornado here a few weeks ago and the Mounted Patrol patrolled a particularly devasattd area to protect against vandalism.

This was super helpful! I was thinking about training my horse for mounted posse but I don't think he could handle that :p he is 14 years old and all he is use to is trail riding.
I think your horse can handle it. if you have already done ground work, he is ready. If you have not, then I suggest you start with group work. Carson James and others have a lot of info on youtube on ground work.
Oh okay, he was already done all his groundwork. And is very broke to ride. Just he would need some work in desensitization.
To all horse lovers, I need your help. They're opening a horse slaughtering factory in Roswell NM soon. When the USDA inspector comes and inspects the factory they are up and running. They plan to process the meat for human consumption to be shipped to Russia and Asia. KOAT action 7 new in NM has been reporting this for the past several weeks. Please write your senators and governors to stop this cruel and insane act.
