    Song: In Heaven Above
    Written: Jeff H. Ulrich (2011)
    Produced: Jeff H. Ulrich (2024)
    Lyrics:
    ~ Verse 1 ~
One day I hope to be at your feet Oh Jesus
Where I will play my instrument
And sing the songs that glorify Your name.
    ~ Chorus 1 ~
    In Heaven above
    Where the captive's free
    No more suffering
    And where there is love
    Eternal peace
    I want to be
    All about You
    I want to worship You
    Lord I want to see
    You smile upon me
    ~ Verse 2 ~
Today the lame can rise at the feet of Jesus
Where they could stand as they rejoice
Where they could dance to glorify His name
    ~ Verse 3 ~
Today the blind can see at the feet of Jesus
Where they could paint of portrait of Him
For they can see the smile upon His face.
    ~ Pre-Chorus ~
For all such things are possible at the feet of Jesus
    ~ Chorus 2 ~
    In Heaven above
    Where the captive's free
    In Heaven above
    Where the captive's free
    No more suffering
    And where there is love
    Where there is love
    Eternal peace
I want to be all about him
    I want to worship him
    Yes I want to see
    Him smile upon me
    ~ Chorus 3 ~
    In Heaven above
    Where the captive's free
    No more suffering
    And where there is love
    Eternal peace
I want to be all about Him
    I want to worship Him
    Yes I want to see
    Him smile upon me
    ~ Outro ~
I want to be all about Him
    I want to worship Him
    Yes I want to see
    Him smile upon me

Thank you for allowing me to share this dedication to my mother in whose footsteps I have followed. I nearly lost her over a month ago but for a miraculous answer to prayer. As the song goes, all such things are possible at the feet of Jesus. The message in this song literally speaks both our hearts as we now rejoice for the miracle of being given more time with one another.

Hi Steve. Thank you. Most special about this song is its dedication to my mother who I almost lost about a month ago. At 89 years old, she went into the hospital with sepsis. She was so incoherent for nearly 2 weeks, I did not know if I would ever again be able to converse with her. They told me chances for cognitive healing would be increased by as much familiar interaction as possible. I took that in earnest. My mother is a preacher’s kid who has played congregational piano since she was eight years old. She is both a saint and prodigy. And whatever good there is to say about either my heart or music, that came from her. Such has been at the heart of our relationship throughout my life. We speak in devotion all the time, often beginning sentences or ending sentences with scripture or lyrics of sacred hymns. I would also bounce my music off of her, as her blessing has meant everything to me as to what I do musically. I promised her in my youth that I would dedicate my soul to the Lord and my music to Him, and now you might further understand why I write what I write. I wrote this song in 2011, and I shared it with her then, although I did not produce and share it as it is. But I had shared with her the lyrics and the message of the song back then. The song is specific in expressing my longing. Fast forward up to a month ago when my mother was in the hospital, I felt powerfully moved to bring this forward to share with her toward healing her mind but also mending her spirit. The first verse and chorus very much speak her heart as a lifelong servant of music in the church. The fourth verse that talks about the blind being able to see at the feet of Jesus, such is also her heart for me. This song very much resonated with her. I thank the Lord today as I report that Mom has been restored by this and so many other efforts to help compel her out of the cognitive pit as well as the demoralized state she was in for weeks. So, this is a dedication to my mother and also to the Lord who granted us a miracle of healing. If only you had seen the condition she was in, you would know why I call this a miracle. Indeed, as the song goes, Mom and I both look forward to being at the feed of Jesus for eternity where all such things are possible. God bless you, my friend. Thank you for everything.
