MAX 1748, MAX 8746, FUNCTION

The MAX1748/MAX8726 triple output DC-DC converters are housed in a TSSOP package and provide the voltages required by the active matrix thin film transistor (TFT) of liquid crystal displays (LCDs). The chip features a high-power DC-DC converter, 1 MHz current-mode PWM boost regulator, and high-power main output up to +13 V at ±1% accuracy from an internal power mosfet, and two low-power charge pumps to convert the +3.3V to +5V input supply voltage into three independent output voltages. The main converter operating at a working frequency of 1 MHz generates a boosted output voltage (VMAIN) of up to 13 V using ceramic inductors and capacitors. The low resistance (0.35 Ω) BiCMOS low power control circuitry of the integrated power MOSFET enables up to 93% efficiency. The MAX1748/MAX8726 are available in an ultra-slim TSSOP package (1.1mm maximum height).
