Definitely perfect time for releasing this one, I had split thoughts to buy Linea Mini or one other machine and now Linea Mini has everything I desired for and it's definitely go go go...!
Someone will spend some money soon :D
This video makes black look so much better than it did on the last model, but I'm sticking with white. I noticed they swapped the brew and steam pressure gauges to match the Micra, which makes sense given the steam wand is on the right. I also like that the front panel in the brew area is now matches the main body, making the look a little more contemporary and easier to clean.
gonna buy one next year
Looks stunning.
I wish new iphones came with this insane level of new features with each release. Any one of these features alone would justify the upgrade. La Marzocci blazing ahead as always!
nice machine for sure! love my mini
looks amazing in all black!
Well is it Valentines day or is it Valentines day? My heart is on another planet
The upgrades here are excellent! Lots of upgrades without a price increase is surprising. The cool touch wand alone used to be a $700 upgrade - now included standard!
Why would a plastic tube added in the wand be $700 extra?
@@SGspecial84 Plastic tube?
Pro Touch wand is still a $700 upgrade, the Cool Touch wand is different.
Plastic steam tip and portafilter spout for $8kAUD+. Wild.
And it’s a De’Longhi.
Having literally bought the now "old model" a few weeks ago, most likely while this video was being shot under embargo, and picking the old model up from the showroom while they had the old model in the warehouse... well let me just say I am not impressed. I feel like I was used to move obsolete stock at full price.
-I do love the Linea Mini, but my concern is more about the ethical (or otherwise) behaviour of LM Aus-
After contacting LM Aus directly we have worked out our differences. Due credit to them.
Still loving the Mini
Same fate for me mate. Disgusting strategy of LM. It is not a coincidence, this was intended
@ROOWATT How’d that conversation go?
Love it
what a beauty
Very clear review. Thank you. I have the old Linea mini, I don’t think I need to upgrade. But true a nice update tho.
La marzocco gotta launch the new Linea Mini before it got killed by Micra.
for sure haha the micra killed the mini in sales. They had to do something
Excellent video my friend.
Thank you very much!
Looks great have a hard time for a home getting this over the perfectly awesome Micra though.
Wonder if they will do a similar update to the linea micra...
Nice option for home use
Yes more "food safe" material on high end machine, that
is what people want, Gaggia Boliergate rocks!
I have only just purchased the old mini not realising the new machine was on its way, however I’m pretty sure you can do the pre-saturation on the existing mini? Does this one operate any differently?
Cool video, very informative! Can I ask you which brand and model scale you're using? Thanks!
very speedrun video, but lookin forward to this one!
Beautiful machine and review, if possible can a lever machine review be done on the odyssey espresso argos
I would be all over this if it had a proper pre infusion. Can't justify the upgrade from my BDB until it does, even if I really want one because of the beautiful design.
Just wish La Marzocco would abandon the whole app idea or at least make it optional, having pre-wet and pid funtions locked down in an app makes a machine that would otherwise last a lifetime, last as long as they update their software. I truly wish they would just stick to what the are amazing at: the machines! and not software.
Nah won;t happen especially since De'Longhi bought them.
Yeah. Not a fan of an app. So everyone has to install the app to use the machine? Just put a screen on the thing already. I just want these things to be internet connected so they can receive firmware updates but also for any machine that has auto on and off it’s important to correct drift.
I have used the app on two GS3s and a Linea mini that I’ve owned and love the app. Its interface is fantastic.
Honestly I like the app. Is not perfect but still good.
Nope the app is great and allows far more adjustability than some clumsy PID that traditional E61 machines have. I am happy to use my app on my Micra as I can control all the parameters that I want to....
Old LMLM still has my vote. I feel like the coffee people who will get the most out of the LMLM want the strictly manual features found on the original (old) version. The pre-infusion and easy pump pressure adjustment are the biggest wins here but don't think those warrant the upgrade from the original so I totally agree with you here!
I think the same, also I made my own preinfusion (put the paddle in the middle) mod using the same materials that La Marzocco use in the factory. Now have fully manual control on the prefusion and brew pressure just moving the paddle. The new LMLM is wonderful, the only request I have is lower the price of the cool touch (steam wand) for existent LM owners.
How long before this stuff makes it over to the Micra. Asking for a friend. ;)
Love how LM keeps pushing everyone to say "Polymer" instead of Plastic. Nonetheless I think they did a great job with this machine, it will sell like fresh baked bread
On one hand $5K+ for an espresso machine seems frivolous. On the other, how many of us readily add $10k+ in unnecessary options to a vehicle without thinking twice?
Is the extra room between the portafilter and tray worth the extra money over the lower price of the Micra? The Micra has a small space for a large cup.
I was hoping they would update it!! Going to get one in the coming months!!!
Congrats give a 6 month update would you? Enjoy your intelligent purchase.
Love the connected scale! Ingenious!! Is it possible to use it for my Micra?
No, it's not compatible with the Micra
Yes, you need to obtain the special ACAIA scale for La Marzocco to sync to the espresso machine. Is expensive but works.
@@fgarced it is not compatible with the micra
@@fgarced ATTENTION: The brew-by-weight function can only be used with the Linea MINI. Not with the Linea MICRA.
@goldenbrowncoffee what’s the chances the Micra will get updated anytime soon with some of the features (eg shot timer, or pre infusion)?
I like your denim jacket very much! What brand is that?❤
I wonder what exactly the second solenoid tries to achieve. It seems like with the old version, theoretically you can achieve the three brew phases if the software allowed it. maybe the extra solenoid is trying to prevent coffee from going too far up the brew chamber?
The old lines mini is just turning the brew pressure on and off. The second solenoid means they can offer just running water without the 9 bars. The coffee machinist was offering this as an upgrade. I’d love to know more about how it works
@@s0041464 hmm maybe I’m misunderstanding, but can’t you just turn the pump off but keep the brew solenoid on in order to allow water to run without depressurizing?
I took a look at the coffee machinist's mod and it looks like with that, you are able to do a low pressure preinfusion that's adjustable by a needle valve. it makes sense that this requires an extra solenoid since there's two paths - one unobstructed one for full pressure, and one with the needle valve for lower pressure. but in this case it doesn't seem like the linea mini allows for a low pressure preinfusion?
Do you know how many time can you extract espresso in a row?
Does the heating time still stay the same?
Great upgrade but they forgot about one hugely annoying thing. The hot water tap withought a mixing valve. The hot water direct from the boiler is far too hot. It destroys a coffee.
Would be good if they put pump pressure into the lever...
Is the brew by weight function available on older linea mini’s?
Of course
What type of scale did you use to connect to the machine and bluetooth
maybe if I win the lottery, one day I will own this.
I do have a question where can I geht this fancy ass cup 😂
Can you adjust the pre-infusion pressure or time?
Yes but is not the same as Slayer have (on slayer you can control the stop and start pre-infusion at any time), this LM is a timer and need to be completed then pump reach 9 BARS.
Hey there, can u include the model names for the grinder and tamper thay are in frame please? Thx
Its the LM Pico grinder with Puq Press
Does it have the same dimensions?
For $8,500 I wish they would include a scale that maybe cost the $20 to produce
RIP, no more red logo
Do you can change the temperature from the app?
yes
Nice upgrades but the Mini now feels more like a Micra plus now. For me the Micra is perfect and £2k cheaper. There is nothing the Mini has that i would want on my Micra.
Wow they added pre infusion…
What an amazing new idea and it’ll only run you 6k 😂
The old version also has pre infusion.
Does anybody know how fast the heating time is?
Review of Kaffeemacher stated 10 mins inkl. one 20 sec flush for the basket
Is the same, 3.5L takes around 10 mins to brew and 15 mins to steam milk.
Help a fella out: Do I want this a Rocket or a San Remo You? Upgrading from a failing Sage /Breville Oracle and looking for a machine that is capable of cafe-grade coffee.
So the paddle still can NOT be a manual pre-infusion paddle, like on a Slayer?
I assume the slayer paddle design probably have design rights to the competitors.
Is the way of the 2 solenoid works using the paddle
@@fgarced La Marzocco's Manual Paddle with two-stage infusion predates Slayer even existing, by about 30 years. They could implement this easily enough.
But then they wouldn’t sell as many gs3’s
@nd4262 Yes, La Marzocco must implement a pre-infusion paddle on their entire lineup. It's not difficult. It's a simple implementation. They could also sell a kit to retrofit existing Linea Minis and Micras. Here's another opportunity to make money and to cement and grow their reputation. La Marzocco needs to wake up and stop resting on their laurels. There's too much competition now.
I’d still rather have a high end lever machine.
how much does it take for it to heat up and be ready to use?
Should be the same as the last model, about 10 mins
@@slimigan plus another 10-20 to get the steam boiler up to pressure
@brian1264 not mine- steam ready to go at 10 mins
I really don’t like the portafilter design carried over from the micra
Just realized the 2.0 version doesn’t come with an extra pair of portafilter like the original mini does. I hate swapping plastic cap. It’s like they give us something and then took away something great like this. For 8k CDN is unacceptable!
Can we just call plastic plastic. Instead of "high grade polymer" 🙄
Adding wood on this machine make a big big difference.
price ?
im watching it and i cant afford any of that lol
“High grade polymer” … aka.. plastic🙂
all this money and no pressure profiling ?
I can’t believe it. I’m prob still gonna get the sanremo you
No, because that is reserved for the GS3. My guess is that there will be a new GS3 out soon that takes on the looks and functions of the new Strada X.
It's an overpriced machine for what it offers. These machines sell purely for the brand, not features.
Just get a second hand good condition LM and mod it with a gear pump mod. On the fly paddle profiling with top notch heat stability. SR you is way overpriced.
@@maheshprabhuit’s all name
Enjoy your plastic portafilter and wand, ill stick to brand like ECM that focus on the machine and not profit
Better to buy Nurri L-Type lever
Because everyone wants a lever machine right?
Just Nurri will do a better espresso shot than LM Mini
Nothing alarmingly different from the previous model. I just use the shot timer off the app. Not really worth upgrading if you already have a Mini.
Why does it seem like the biggest feature here is that they changed the angle of the back profile of the machine? Everything else you can find in almost any espresso machine these days for a fraction of the price and in many of them with more innovation. Honestly this and the Pico grinder just feel embarassing and lend to stereotype of "coffee snob".
Nothing quite like putting boiling water through “food safe” plastic. That’s like trying to boil water on the stove in a plastic pot, watching it melt and then calling it “food safe” 😂
Nothing to do with espresso machine, does anyone knows where to order coffee beans in the US that are consistently well roasted?
It'd be great if the machine did not cost a kidney!
Imo I still rather any e61 than mazzoco, I have profitec 500, and gives everything that you need. 3,4K aud. Against almost 9k mazz.
Free la Marzocco 6k!!! Lol… not even gonna watch this in so disgusted
So it just does constant pressure through the whole shot, and there's a screw you can change without knowing the actual pressure....
Why does anyone serious about coffee buy these machines any more?
So for all that money you get nothing new and just corner cutting plastic additions, wtf super overpriced and overrated
new features, no price increase. But still lots of $$$
A coffee machine with an app? no thanks. nersd gone too far now.
not so Mini
This is the comment to tell you: no, you dont need to buy a coffee machine for 8.500 Euros. Thats nuts.
well unsubscribing again since this channel is apparently way outside of my money purse.
great review - I feel myself an expert now . I wish tough that they would've improved the design into something more contemporary instead of this primitive block .
@georges_angeles
They are cheapening out this unit. ABs - plastic. Shot timer ⏲️ ugh 😩
The funny thing is, they likely looked at the modding community, requests from the market, and other features found in other manufactures machines. The shot timer is one of those. I wanted a black machine anyway, so for me this is a win. I can understand if some are worried about the look.... just buy the previous machine. I think it's a welcome addition. In regards to high grade polymer on the porter filter, I feel they found most people want to run a naked porter filter. I know I would.
The best thing they did and I feel no one is talking an out... they added all of these features/ enhancements and didn't touch the retail price. Thats a win.
@@rocketbrothers540 I think it takes a timeless Italian machine and makes it look like a large racillio pro x but much more expensive. Yes the black one is a win. They should have showcased that.
