I have a budgie and please don’t swing it or try to hit back just blow some wind on them until they stop they are like babies and if you blow on them while resting on your hand they will trust you fast and will sleep they are very cute
Well that’s probably because 1. Cage is to small 2. Improper toys and accessories in cage that I can see 3. You literally waited for it to happen, once he steps up .. don’t jiggle him around to provoke him Let him hop off and reward him for stepping up without biting Also budgies are naturally more skittish than other parrots and your hand entering the cage can be viewed as threatening Try getting it to come out on its own and then step up
My budgie bit in between my thumb ad finger, right on the sensitive webbing, worst bite yet but never shake ur finger like that, always just wait for them to stop or you can lose trust. Also ur cage is pretty small
They’re not buying .. skin around our fingers is hardened dried skin they try to bite that skin my buggies only bite on that part not to hurt me just to sharp their pointy
Hey sorry for this comment but that cage is too small for a budgie consider upgrading make sure they have lots of vegetables and pellets I just organic ones since they Are the best make sure to get small ones for your budgie because they are loving being too
Tip 1, don't wiggle ur finger around when it's on you. Tip 2, don't react when it bites u, even if it bites hard. Tip 3, it may bite u because it is territorial. Tip 4, don't punish the bird. Finally, tip 5, u may want to try using gloves as protection if it hurts too much. Hope this helps
@@crazyparakeet99the only thing that work with mine is where heavy duty gloves an hold it an let it bite you multiple times until it sees it doesn’t hurt you
If u want your budgie not to bite you use food to distract it or use powder free gloves and when your budgie bites u try not to react and don’t shake your hand when your budgie bites u.😊😊 Hopefully that helps
The cage to small and needs toys and more stick but first you get a bigger cage because that like being trapped in a bathroom for you like would you want live In a small little house I feel so bad for the budgies
So even though I don't own a budgie, what I know from my futile preparation tells me that the best way is to just discourage this behavior, not punish it. Use mild inconveniences as a deterrent or whatever, like slightly blowing on it or slightly tipping your finger so it gets off balance, when you notice that it’s about to bite you. It will start associating those inconveniences to biting you, which discourages it from continuing that behavior. But don’t do anything like that when it HASN'T done anything. They prefer the finger to be still and calm, not stressful. Like imagine it as yourself.
Mine speed bites but doesn't break the skin lol it's honestly funny but I don't laugh or yell I just put it down..when it finally starts to be picked up with out biting I'll give it a treat..build the reward dynamic
then will he stop biting? I have a friendly, playful Budgie “3 months old” but he tries to bite my finger and then walks away. “His bite is light, but if i shake finger, his reactions and the bite becomes stronger.”
What's wrong with everyone here 😂. They're wild birds, of course they're going to bite, well in this case, the nibble, they don't have sharp beaks to actually bite or bite hard. Everyone here needs to calm down
That was the calm before the storm. And they tend to go for the cuticles or the crevice of the nails.
