@Ribby The Party Frog To be fair, I bought some Neca ones since I saw this video, and now I believe Neca is garbage; the sculpts are cool, but the quality of the joints is trash, and a lot of the paint rubs off. Sold them off and now I'll never touch anything Neca again. Super 7 makes solid figures. 👍
Tbf, I think that assessment is fair, Harder Container Plastic ensure it doesn’t bend or break if you’re all about keeping boxes mint. Also ensures you don’t have accesories and pieces flying out before even opening the figure.

@Ribby The Party Frog I've not only heard of a lot of people having issues with Neca figs across the board, but also speaking from personal experience. I've handled a few different figs, and they don't even stand up to Marvel Legends quality if you ask me. Search YT for "necaphilia" and watch the first video that comes up (from RetroBlasting). It's entertaining and informative! Might shock you...
@Ribby The Party Frog I have a Doc Brown and Marty McFly from Neca. Yesterday, due to the tight joints not letting him stand properly, my Doc Brown fell from where I had him displayed and his foot broke. Comparing that to Legends and SHF which have fallen from higher heights, the plastic Neca uses is very brittle. After the Frankenstein I preordered, I think I’m done with Neca.
Thanks for doing this in depth comparison. Been staying away from collecting Turtles, but all these new reveals is making it so difficult to resist! I'm leaning also towards Super7, and I'm thinking my first turtle will be either this Raphael or the BBTS exclusive Raphael in disguise! Thanks again! You've got yourself another subscriber! is that a version 2 super 7? doesn't seem to show the shading too good in this video. i just got raph, shredder, and leo off amazon for the cheap. my shredder is missing a shin guard and it is driving me nuts lol
I agree. I like the super7 one more. I’ve been considering selling my neca cartoon turtles for a while now. I’ve been wanting comic style ninja turtles team. So this looks cool👍

The Neca communicators and figures are more show accurate and Super7 is 80's toy accurate. I personally enjoy the Neca line because I wanted a show accurate line and not a remake of the toys I had as a child. I still have my old collection so it only makes sense to go with Neca for me.
Why can’t this guy mention the most obvious neca advantage, they look exactly like the cartoon it’s based on?! The super7 look exactly like the 80s figures we’ve already seen 30 years ago.

One of my biggest gripes w neca cartoon is their dwarfed by movie & super 7 versions.

I like these videos, but it was a little long, I think you could say what you want and make your points in 10 minutes or less. It would make it more entertaining.

Awesome video although I felt that it should've been a tie between the two in terms of sculpt. Only because they both represent different versions of the turtles. Neca represents the 80s cartoon and Super7 the 80s toy line. Both achieve that perfectly to me.
They seem pretty much equal- Super7 is a slightly better toy, but not as good of a collectible. Given NECA costs about half as much, for me, it's not close.
I love super7's packaging more.
One of these looks like the source material and the other doesn't. That alone is why neca wins.
Not really fair how you compared packaging. Super7 packaging isn't meant to be displayed on shelves. It has the slip case to protect it during shipping. Why not compare without the slip case where the actual imagery is?
That being said, I think you did an overall good job comparing the figures. You might've double-dipped a bit on the point reductions for NECA, but overall I agree with a lot of your assessment. I've been getting frustrated by a few people complaining about Super7 figures, specifically over dumb reasons like having too many accessories or too good packaging.
The original playmate tmnt toys broke the mold for tmnt toys so.... Just saying.🐢
Hey man, I am not sure if you noticed, but Super7 Raphael that is based of the old vintage toys from 88 has a wrong skin color. He got Mickeys skin color. Taking a look at the old vintage figurines Raphael is supposed to have more like a grass green color, lighter green to him. So I wonder why they did not manage to put the right color up for him. Does this means that the 4 brothers from Super7 will only have two differently colors to them, instead of 4? Like Donatello and Leonardo might have the same, and Mickey and Raphael might have the same color? Thanks!

Not sure what went wrong with yours Raphael under production, but it is supposed to be the colors of the one Pixel Dan has.
The Super 7 is cooler, but the NECA one looks better.
Everything else aside the Neca figure looks much better to me. QC issues and lousy distribution aside, I just don’t like the sculpts on the Super7 turtles very much
I love both lol, but NECA is just way more affordable. If I was a hardcore Turtles collector I’d probably get the Super7’s but I’m totally fine with what NECA’s doing, they just need to improve distribution.
Cool video. On the topic of price, I think both these figures cost the same in the real world. Although NECA has a retail price of about $25 per fig, these are so extremely hard to find at Target at regular retail price the only way to get these is through the secondary market. As a result, the real-world market rate for the NECAs is about $35 to $40 per figure, so they’re essentially even. Super7 blows NECA outta the water with their ability to take direct pre-orders!

It sucks super 7 is so much more expensive but they are better it just sucks to say after collecting Neca and dealing with all the paint chips and breaks. Pinless joints makes a big difference to me and the second heads on the super 7 probably make the line! They are two totally different depictions of TMNT but when having both in hand super 7 is just superior!
I see you were trying to sound fair. But this is a very biased comparison:
-Way too much time invested in packaging .It is important, just not that important.
-Paint. Super7 loses. Pure and simple. Basic paint and haphazard shading doesn't make give them points. Neca definitely has paint chipping issues. But it's usually at the joints,nowhere near as noticeable in the figure unless you really look. So the mat paint with cartoon highlights looks waay better.
-Accessories. The pizza slice in Super7 looks more realistic? No. No it does not. It looks like a toy pizza. The zai from Neca has a better paint job than all 3 of Super7's zai. Super7 has the better looking communicator.
-Articulation. This is where your bias really shows. You didn't ever bother noticing that Neca has a neck joint and double jointed knees. Heck, s7 Raph can't even really look down. Let's not forget looseness. S7 Raph will barely be able to stand straight after a while and I don't know about anyone, but for the price I'm paying , this shouldn't be an issue. Neca definitely has a history of poor joints and bad plastic. But it's usually stiffness. I rather stiff joints than loose ones.
All in all I think ppl give Super7 waay too much much credit for their sculpts and their vintage line appeal. That usually skewer ppls perspective on them. The four horsemen definitely made exceptional looking sculpts and some aspects about s7 tmnt are genuinely better than the cartoon tmnt. But not enough to make them better than Neca's offerings.
They're tied. But I wouldn't say that it's final. Since Neca has had a new updated version for their cartoon line. Two actually.
Maybe you could do a redo with that in mind?
