  • Poached eggs are somewhat of a science for people. I’ve created two fuss-free methods to make the perfect poached eggs. You can try either of them but both are very simple Thermomix recipes that will get you going for breakfast. The whole egg method is perfect for large eggs at fridge temperature.
If you keep your eggs at room temperature, decrease the cooking time by one minute. If your eggs are smaller, again decrease the cooking time by another minute. If you are using the muffin mould method, you can use my perfect silicone muffin moulds which fit exactly into the Varoma dish and will produce the perfect results you need.

    Ingredients
    1300g water
    4 large eggs
    Olive oil or greasing
    Method
    Whole egg method
Place the water in the mixing bowl, add the simmering basket in and then carefully place in your eggs. Cook 19 Min. / 70 / Speed 4.
Once cooked, carefully remove the eggs from the basket. Crack the top and peal the shell away from the top of the egg a little bit. Pour the egg onto wherever you are serving!
    Muffin mould method
Boil the water first with a kettle. Place the water in the mixing bowl. Heat 3 Min. / Varoma / Speed 2. Meanwhile grease a silicone muffin mould with oil and crack the eggs into it. Insert dish into the Varoma tray. Once the water is boiling, place the Varoma on top of the mixing bowl. Cook 6 Min. / Varoma / Speed 2. If you have smaller eggs, simply reduce the cooking time by 30 seconds.
Once cooked, remove the silicone muffin mould and, using a spoon, serve the poached eggs straight onto your toast.

Thanks Sophia, I am the only one in our house that eats poached eggs, so I decided to try to make only one for myself . I used an individual silicone muffin mould and put it in the simmering basket and steamed it for the same length of time you suggested and it came out great. Thank you!

Another great video, thanks so much! I love the Varaoma® version best since I prefer my eggs to be cooked a little firmer. Again, you made it looks easy. I’m trying this with your Hollandaise Sauce tomorrow! Wish me luck. 🤞

Thanks.i love poached eggs. I will have to try this. I like the second way. My teen loves hard boiled eggs. I didn't think of using my tm6. But I will search and try that and omelette too.

Hello this timing is for eggs from the fridge ? Or room temperature? I made with room temperature and they were too cooked 😢

Followed your second method and did 5 eggs in the varoma silicone muffin mold - they were very raw in the middle, not nicely poached. Kept trying in 30sec increments and gave up after an extra 4mins. Won't use this recipe again

I don't have a Thermomix yet. I didn't understand why you pre-boiled the water in a separate kettle rather than boiling the water in the Thermomix?

Hi, I am not sure if after 4 months a reply is still valid, but I purchased my TM5 in UK two years ago; almost 1 year ago I moved to USA but I cannot use it because the voltage is different, so I will be compelled to sell it; I know that can be used in Europe with no issues. if interested we can agree on a fair price- my email is aidi75@hotmail.com- Thanks for your time.
