Ya I like it. And I’m cutting anything in site to test the magnacut. And to be honest I can’t tell any difference yet. It’s a nice steel and the edge has held up.
I may have missed it but if u have any issues go back and flip that other washer on the pivot side and give the bearings 50-100 flips to break in. If you give the bearings a fresh washer it helps because the stock ones already wore a path into the washer, and if it isn’t the same as the skiffs you may not get the best results. Of course if its good as is, leave it alone 😂. Thanks for the entertainment. Now i know what its like watching me fumble through one 😆
I’ll give it a try when I’m back home. I’d like to think I’m better at it without the camera in front of me but I’ve lost shit on the floor when there have been zero distractions.
@@ScotchNThings if you don’t want to mess with taking that pivot out, i know it can be a pain, just use a magnet to pull the washer out and flip it over.
LeftyEDC that’s a good idea. Speaking of magnet’s wish I had a flashlight last night. We lost power in the hotel and man it’s a pain in the ass using your phone
I tend to enjoy disassembly vids to be honest. Something satisfying about them for me, i out skiffs in mine also and after a few hours it was some of the best action I had on a knife
The stamped steel clips on the old benchmade and emersons are the best clips in my opinion. They don't catch on stuff easily and if they do they bend right back. The titanium clips on striders are tough as nails as well. I haven't had to bend any of them back.
My Slim MIDI screws are T6 and the pivot is a T30 Medford must have switched to T6 body screws... Over travel stop is also a T6.. Just put some skiff's in 👊🏼
I Bought a new Slim Midi i decided to start breaking it in At First i could not push the detent ball out so i used two hands and worked it back and forth until i could push the detent out using two fingers and then flipping it out after i flipped it several Times now i have Lock Stick Bad , I have to use a plastic rod , i hate stick . That tells me when i can push the detent ball out with one finger it will only get worse because it will be flipping quicker ? I have Four Medfords But My Favorite Knife is a Spyderco Shawman I replaced scales polished everything and i like the blade . The Medford is so well built you can feel the quality fit the detent ball on the Medford is so small but you can feel how Rugged they are Built until the Lock Stick started? I do not know about The pencil lead fix , I am going to take it apart now soon as i order The Skiff bearings i might as well Fix everything my Clip is touching The scale ,not much That Knife is slick very slick i feel like i could flip the whole knife out of my hand . That will be The last Knife i buy with no texture ? The Praterion's i have are big enough to hold on to .Thanks for The Video .
Ya I’m not a fan of his new slick finish. If the stick doesn’t work it’s way out I’d probably send it in to them. My buddy sent a knife to them for stick and the turn around time was pretty good.
I was a big fan of his knives. I love his work but I’ve heard too many horror stories and sold all of them. I hope you will be an exception and get your knife back one day
Funny, you would think when your paying $500 and up for a knife like Medfords the maker would at least use quality bearings rather than those cheap ass open caged garbage that probably cost a cent to make over in China. this is why I change out all bearings to skiff style bearings on every knife I buy regardless of whether it's a cheap $65 Civivi or a custom $1k Grimsmo Norseman. come on knife makers, yinz all know what we as customers want in our knives so why yinz keep using cheap materials? I could be wrong but only 2 companies I've seen that use quality bearings like these are Skiff (obviously) and Shirogorov. are there others idk about? lmk. willing to bet Marfione customs use quality bearings as well but idk because I don't own anything from them. buddy owns a Matrix tri-tone carbon fiber crusader but has never taken it apart, hell I don't think he's ever even carried it let alone used it for anything which imo is just sad as hell. idk if I paid $5k for a knife, it's gonna be used regardless of price. stop babying your knifes and use them. they are tools after all.
@@ScotchNThings I only own 1 Shiro (to date) and it's absolutely amazing. I also love my Grimsmo but for some reason I don't use the Grimsmo that often. I do not own anything that Mick Strider makes or has made but would love to own at least one custom from him. I'd be highly upset/pissed if I had a tip break off on a 3k knife. so far I've only had that happen to one knife and that's my We Esprit. currently my Rockstead Ryo is the most expensive knife I own which I used to use almost daily but I honestly have to say since I decided to pick up a Kansept Bulldozer (titanium handles, 20cv blade with timascus clip/pivot spacers) I find myself using it more than anything I own. idk why i gravitate to it more than others now but I absolutely love the feel of the Bulldozer and it just rips through cardboard (which I cut a lot of at work) like it's a hot knife through butter. as of rite now knifes are being put on hold because I have 3 80% lower AR-15s and 2 80% lower AR-10s I need to finish getting parts for so I can get them all built. at least need to get 1 done so my parents have something reliable and effective for their home. any chance you contacted Strider to see if he could do anything about the blade being that you paid soo much for it? just curious.
Sounds like you have found and fixed the issue. Glad to hear that even the limited use you’ve done with it that’s it is overall a great knife

Ya it’s still got some grit to it but I’m hoping it smooths out
What lube did u use on the Medford pivot?
Gunny glide

Ya I’d be completely happy with a stamped clip over a milled one.

Ya the skiffs were a huge improvement on mine. I have no idea why he would use T6.
@@ScotchNThings yeah I was kind of bummed out when I realized they were T6 My birth dates May 9th 2022
Wish someone made deep carry clips for medfords. Great video..!
Ya that would be great. Or just a better clip. I like the clip he pilots on the praetorian slim. It just works better
I wish they’d go back to washers on these babies! I think Medford does great washer action
A my praetorian is buttery smooth
Scotch what oil are you using for the knife?
Gunny juice
Clips don’t catch often but when they do 🍻😤
Ya I’ve had a couple pop out of the pocket on job sites. I’ll be walking around and then see my knife on the ground.
It's probably a T8 IP.. The T8 ip is a size between T8 and T9.
Good to know thanks

It's a hex screw on the clip.
Don’t send Dwyer your knife you’ll never get it back
I’m seeing that now. He’s had it since November
