When I was young, regular gas was 29 cents a gallon. High test gas was 31 cents a gallon. I could fill up my VW bug for less than $3.00 I bought a new 3 bedroom, two bath home in a nice area for $39,000. My VW bug cost $1,890.00 brand new. Life was affordable. Food was affordable. I was a single parent and sometimes I just didn't have it! I had a daughter so I could not work overtime or 2 jobs. I had to make what I had stretch and the schools were poor mouthing all the time here in SC. Now to see them giving money away like it grows on trees to people that are here illegally is like a slap in the face to me!
