Convert an Antique Fire Extinguisher into a Victorian Parlor Lamp!

In this video I'll show you how to turn a vintage antique fire extinguisher into a cool retro style Victorian parlor lamp. This fire extinguisher sports the "Queen" model name and was made by Harker Manufacturing Company in Cincinnati, Ohio probably sometime between 1930 and 1950. In this video, we'll use a light fixture from ebay, which was intended as a ceiling fixture to transform the fire extinguisher into something much cooler.

Just be careful when you empty one of these. They contain soda acid which can become unstable over the years. I worked as an extinguisher tech for 20 years and I saw a few people get acid burns and one even lost their eyesight from messing with these. If you unscrew the top and remove the cartridge, be careful and use gloves and eye protection. Dispose of the acid responsively. Sometimes the acid becomes neutralized over the years but be sure use caution. Hope this helps.
