As you said, it literally did only take a couple of days for me to get up to speed with Avalonia’s brand of XAML, and the changes in how styles work is great. I have no CSS background, but find the Avalonia approach much easier to remember than the MS offering.

While I really like AvaloniaUI for the improvements over WPF (styling, ease of animating, small things like binding to observables), I now hate MS even more for not making WPF cross platform. It was possible for 3rd party to do, but not for MS? And they got all 3rd party controls working right away?
We got this joke of MAUI instead. This is a joke. Great job from Avalonia team, I will do my 2.0 version of the app in Avalonia for sure.

What's worse is Microsoft already had WPF mostly working across platforms with SilverLight.

The real question everyone wants the answer to is expressed thusly "Does Avalonia allow me to create an app to fire all the martin atomics from any platform day or night?". Given the domain of some of the apps in the presentation, I think I must conclude the answer is YES!

Is the HybridXPF licensed the same way as XPF ? Or to ask another way. Will the price of using external controls this way be the same as just using XPF ?

Pricing for Hybrid XPF is determined through individual customer negotiations, with the aim to offer a substantially more cost-effective solution compared to a full XPF licence.

Avalonia is great but it will remain for toy projects as long as it doesn't have a rich text box component.
