Cessna C210 - Bush flying in South Africa!
Вставка
- Опубліковано 26 вер 2024
- Here I am flying with my good friend Günter Schmitz, owner of the legendary C210 ZS-AVB.
Landing at a private airstrip at Ingwelala, South Africa.
During daytime it gets very turbulent due to thermals.
The first third of the runway was unusable at tis time.
Your comments and questions are always welcome!
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
Life is better since Guido has returned with new videos!
My New Year's resolution was to bring up more videos for you this year...
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
Nice to watch a master at the controls. I've enjoyed all of your flights. Thank You for sharing them with us.
Thank you!
In this flight my friend Günter Schmitz was on the control. He owns the airaft since many years and is highly experienced in bush flying.

I love this point of view.
Thank you. It took a lot of trial & error to find a good vantage point for the camera.

One of my all-time favorite a/c, the majestic Centurion!
I (sadly) have never flown it, but heard great things about it.
But I don't need others to tell me how beautiful this bird is.
The C210 is definitely one of the best single engine aircraft. When flown by an experienced pilot it can handle even challenging bush strips.
These are now all older aircraft, so proper maintenance is important.

absolutely incredible video as always, here as a CFII, started watching your videos as a student pilot. Many thanks for this continued high quality content
Great story! I wish you continued success for your flying career, wherever it will take you.
We do not have enough women in commercial aviation, around 6%. Interesting enough this corresponds with the percentage of female viewers of my aviation channel.
Although I do not care about gender, race or anything else in a person (I look only into a safe and professional handling of an aircraft), I think this should be changed and women encouraged to take n this profession. Now is the time to become a pilot.
Do not hesitate to contact me via my web site www.guido-warnecke.com if any questions come up.

For some reason your last video in this same plane landing in Namibia is a favorite of mine, being a Cessna guy I love the sights and sounds of that video!
Thank you!
The C210 is also my favorite single engine piston aircraft, very capable. especially this one with a turbocharge engine.

that flare ! landing at idle definitely a bush pilot
The pilot (owner of the C210) has huge experience in bush flying and landed probably more times on bush strips than big runways.

@@GuidoWarnecke I think you would enjoy it! I have implemented many skills from your videos into my flying :)
I love planes with steam gauges.
Hi Jose,
this one is a vintage C210.
Flies very well.

Nice to see the videos again - nearly 90k subscribers!! Is air law in south africa more similar to European or U.S rules?
I will do my best to upload many more videos this year.
80% of air law is international and 20% is country specific. There are some differences.
In the main lowers the countries need to adhere to ICAO Standards.

That was a long float for "bush flying"!
As I mentioned in the video description the first third of the runway was unusable due to recent rain falls.
You are correct: in a short bush strip there is no room for floating. Set it on the ground.

Hey Capt, what is that note on the compass? Are those your optimal air speeds? Another exciting landing from a professional.
This is the compass deviation table. A requirement in Sixth Africa to have it on the compass.
It shows the compass error fr the cardinal headings.

Hi Armando.
the C210 is the best of all Cessna single engine piston aircraft.

What’s a good way to build hours towards a commercial license?😊😊😃😃
Hi Adam,
I cannot give you final advice here. Fly for a charity organization, ask around at airports. The problem is that you are not allowed to fly for compensation without the commercial ticket. Some pilots I know have worked at the airports at FBOs and flight schools and spend the money on flying. Be around airports, airplanes and pilots. That is important!
Flying requires dedication and 100% effort, especially at the beginning.

Do you have (or need) type ratings for all of those aircraft you fly?
In the USA, most aircraft are covered under a blanket license if the weight is below 12,500lb.
I hold several type ratings which are very expensive to maintain current.

Looks very dusty there. Is this hard on the engine?
Not so much on the engine, the main concern ins the propeller.

@@redlock4004 Thank you very much for your loyalty and support of my channel.
Please tell your friends also.
Nice job. Were you navigating without GPS there ?
Hi Dave,
as you see that is a vintage C210.
We used a handheld GPS.
Günter, the owner of the C210 who was also pilot flying has been many times at Ingwelala, so navigation was not an issue.
Happy Landings,
