Hi everyone! I hope you are doing good.
Last week, I went to the Hobonichi Techo 2024 Lineup Reveal Event and Meeting Caravan at their headquarters for the first time. I actually applied for the event last month and was lucky enough to be one of the participants! So excited to join them, and I’m sharing a little bit about how we spent there.
So, it’s been an exciting, but busy week since Hobonichi announced the new techo lineup last week. I guess many of you have already checked lineup videos (so many times!), but I hope this helps you decide on your purchase in some ways and let me know which one you’re gonna pick for the 2024 new techo.

I already have my 2024 books and covers but fighting with myself not to get the natural leather One Piece, I remember watching the series with a friend of mine when I was house-sharing so this takes me back to those days. I need to watch the series again - it will drive his wife crazy (she does not like anything animated) but I might be able to get his son to join us when I visit them in The Netherlands - how cool it would be to be able to journal in the One Piece book - nooo I’m supposed to be taking myself out of spending more, not getting excited about buying another cover!!

Like you mentioned, how cool to use ONE PIECE book or cover and exciting it is to open up with going merry charm on the front, and see the nautical chart of the interior, which I really love. Sorry I’m not familiar with ONE PIECE story, because I haven’t have a chance to watch or read their mangas when I was a child, but having said that, it is really fascinating to me. So no wonder someone like you who used to watch the series during the childhood are so excited about it! Actually I went to TOBICHI yesterday again and check all the ONE PIECE lineups, making me realized I might need the black cover!! I think I could resist because I have already got all the cover I needed for 2024, but no one knows😂 And you picked Laurent Garigue! Also I really appreciate their dedication and enthusiasm toward making techos. Really admirable. That's why Hobonichi techos attract peope from all over the world! And it would be definitely great to be one of the Hobonichi members!

That's so true. You can see their dedication and enthusiasm through the amazing products. It's very admirable.
For the covers I hope to get the Yumi Kitagishi illustrated design, Liberty Fabric Hollyhocks and/or the black gingham. For Weeks, I'm tossing up between Hiroko Kubota, Tomitaro Makino, or the Taro Okamoto design because I really love Tower of the Sun 🌞 I will let you know which ones I actually choose ☺️

Your reveal video is wonderful! I ordered directly from 1101 as soon as it released. I will have the tiny dragons HON and the star sparklers keep falling in weeks. I couldn't wait for them to be released in English! The otter you showed in weeks was adorable. I don't think it was available from 1101. I would definitely have gotten it. You are lucky to have such beautiful stationery available in Japan. Thanks for sharing ❤

I'm jealous about the Back to the Future books and some others at that same area. They are not sold on the website, but I would have bought several of them.
Sorry about that, but it's so hard for us even living Japan to get some items because some of them are competitive and exclusive, and already sold out. I wish I could help with that in some ways.

Also in your video I could notice some things I hadn’t realised before. For example, the botanical Hons are not the same colour as the matching Weeks!

What color from your video would you say the water green leather cover is?
It’s so hard to describe the exact name of the color because I have no idea. I’m so sorry. I think it’s slightly different between the color what you saw in my video and the color you see in person. I didn’t use the filter at all when I edited , but I would say the color 9:45 is close to the actual color, and 09:51 is slightly darker, not actual one. If you have any further questions, just let me know😊
