I am very sad to write that Terry Clarke, the wonderful musician who wrote the words and sang this song, has died. He went on to have a critically acclaimed career as a solo artist, but I remember a warm, sensitive man with a marvellous gift for words and music.
+Edward Collier ....Hi Edward! What ever happened to the band?? Loved this song since I got hold of it it back in '83 (it was part of one of those bargain bags you used to get through mail order! Soz!!) Couldn't believe it was never a hit...still listen to it every week! Hope you don't mind me putting it up...Choccy x.
+choccystarfish1 Unfortunately the record company turned out to be either criminally incompetent or just plain criminal! Despite getting a LOT of radio 1 airplay there weren't enough copies pressed and they hadn't got them into the right shops, so it died a death. We released three more singles but we were an album band really - mostly a question of right place, wrong time. I'm absolutely ecstatic that you put it up - don't let anyone make you take it down. x
Hi Ed - from Henry who played bass with you and Terry and Simon Price in a later version of the band. These days I work as a mastering engineer and I remastered the Terry tracks that we recorded - just for my own pleasure really. If you want a copy let me know.
Hi Henry - good to hear from you! We made some great music together but I've lost all of it, so yes please - I'd really love a copy. Can you email me on edwardwill at gmail dot com? Thanks.
I´ve sold quite a lot of his solo albums last twenty years.......great artist, I was sorry to hear he passed away, had some contact with him through e-mail.......
Loved this when it came out and it has worn much better than the bulk of 8O's stuff. I was a music producer on BBC network TV at the time and tried to book you for a show Edward, but whoever was plugging it, didn't deliver :(
The sound of summer 1981...just 18 years old and this playing on the car radio...heaven!

Really sorry to hear that. I often play this - takes me right back to the great summer of ‘81, and always will.
I wrote this music and played keyboards on it - I haven't heard it for about twenty years, since I got rid of my turntable. Thanks for uploading it!

I remember Keith Butler playing it a lot on 210, as it was then. That's probably why!
