Simple Chicken Karaage Recipe

  • Here's the instructional video for a simple Chicken Karaage recipe! I make a lot of different fried chicken and this is by far the easiest one to make. This dish is great as an appetizer or as a main served with rice.
    Ingredients:
    4 chicken thighs (skin or skinless is fine)
    1tbsp grated ginger
    1 tbsp minced garlic
    2 tbsp soy sauce
    1/2 tsp sugar
    dash of salt and pepper
    3/4 cup cornstarch
    1/2 lemon
    cooking oil to fry
    Instructions:
    1. Cut thighs into bite size pieces
    2. Add thighs into the bowl along with ginger, garlic, soy sauce, sugar and dash of salt and pepper. Mix and let marinade for 15 minutes.
    3. Next add the cornstarch into the bowl with another dash of salt and pepper then coat all chicken pieces evenly.
    4. Heat pan with cooking oil enough to cover the chicken pieces and deep fry until crispy and golden. It is optional but you can double fry it if you want it extra crispy.
    5. Serve with some lemon slices.
