Bob I’ve always appreciated your lessons and you’re playing but I really had to admit that after seeing you with the Jeffrey Keyser trio and also playing the open studios Brazil session I kind of stood straighter with my eyes wide open and realize I should really be listening hard to what you’re conveying

Hi Etienne. Thank you, that's very kind of you to say! Thanks for watching

This tremendous. I've been recording my practice sessions and I immediately heard how my quarter notes were not fat and wide. Problem was I didn't know how to fix it. Thank you Bob! Every beginner should watch this.

Wow, this video really makes me wanna get a bass right away! Being a drummer, understanding the bass more must be very beneficial anyway :)

Nice Knut! Yes indeed, in a similar way for bassists to understand the drums better!! I'm always studying more drums....

The best way to develop "legato" (energietic, connected flowing) quarter notes playing pizzicato is working with the bow because you will learn to keep the string closed for as long as you want the sound to continue.

I like his approach (musical philosophy) and the communication thereof.

    Thank you, Mr. DeBoo.
You mentioned your strings, and I like the way they sound. What make are they exactly?

My pleasure and thanks for watching! For this video I was using all Evah Pirazzi Weichs (I often will use an 'Oliv' G string as well...)
