Hearing a mainly english speaking audience singing your song back to you in Korean must've just been an amazing experience for them. Music truly does transcend language. This song means so much to Jimin he got the words Young Forever tattooed on the back of his arms.

11:23 Purple means a lot to BTS and ARMY. Kim Taehyung a.k.a. V of BTS gave a new meaning to the word purple. Purple is the last colour on the rainbow. Purple means love, trust and loyalty. So technically if someone tells you "I purple you", that someone is saying "I'll trust you, love you, support you, and be loyal to you until my last breath." You'll also find a frequent use of purple hearts among us :)

This mv is so simple yet has SO MANY clues and hints for the upcoming videos and story line 💜
Okay so you know how you were talking about that upside-down cut meaning that Tae was a "reflection" of the other members? I actually took it the complete opposite way. I'm going to warn you because the next part is a bit of a spoiler, however you'll notice a lot if you know this. Tae's character is actually different from the others in the story in a very significant way. Putting it simply, he knows about the time loops because of these premonitional dreams he keeps having. You'll notice a lot in their videos after run, he has a lot of moments where he seems to be "separated" from them in a way. Like the upside-down scene. Or the scene that happens at 11:50. You can see him turn back to look towards the camera while every one else keeps running forward. Jin also has these from time to time. It shows that, even though they're having fun with the others, they know what truly happens to everyone, and that makes it so they they can't truly let go of their worries and enjoy their youth.
I think he said that the other members are a reflection and Tae is looking at the other members. Not the other way round

This is a personal appreciation... From this MV I love that yes, you can obviously relate it to the BU as it has clips from previous videos, and it's an important part of the storyline. But I also feel like it's a MV that can stand on itself. This song is extremely personal to them... you read the lyrics, you saw the emotion they put into their vocals, and the 2019 Wembley performance where ARMYs sang to them. Even Jimin tattooed the words "Young" and "Forever" on his arms.
(Story time: 2018 was a hard time for BTS. They were really exhausted, physically and mentally, and even contemplated disbanding. On a video that was uploaded in 2019, Jimin stated: "As this year (2018) came, I wondered: 'For what reason am I fighting with my life for this? For what reason am I doing this work with the feeling that no other path can cut it but this one?' (...) I looked up a lot of our videos, our music, our music videos, our performances, our photos. And while looking through these, I came to a video of us performing Young Forever. We were performing this song at a concert. But the video wasn't of us performing. It had captured the scene of our fans, singing the song. At that time we weren't singing, and only the fans were. When I watched that... I cried a lot. I don't know exactly what I was thinking at the time of watching it, or why I was crying. But I had the thought: 'THIS is the reason! Even if I'm not sure of other things, this is the reason'. It kind of felt as if... something hit me hard on the head.")
Probably when years pass, they'll watch this MV with the VHS style clips of them, and it will be very nostalgic. It is a beautiful video indeed. Thank you so much for your insight! Your comments about filmmaking are always interesting to hear :)

I like your thoughts on the upside down shot and in the maze when you said they were fighting their own struggles but they were all in the same maze. I think that’s on point.
Always remember that purple is the color BTS bestowed upon ARMY. You will see this color in everything. V made comment that he purples ARMY a long time ago and it became the color representation for ARMY. Or you may see Borahae which is also a term he coined, for the love of ARMY.
it's beautiful that they have this concept of a "see through" maze while they're talking about a hypothetical future where they might not have what they do now ;_; makes the impact of them seeing the finish line so to speak and it being not as bright and beautiful as their now that much more significant

The plane is referenced throughout the rest of the videos that are released after this e.g. 'Boy with luv' and 'Butter' to name a few ( the plane finally landed in the MV for Butter) this album was the start before perusing the west essentially and making a name for them selves in the US. With not knowing if they were going to see the next few months/next year because of the Korean audience and their company not have the finances, but ☺ here they are in 2021 with 'Butter'

(Apart from the BU references the lyrics also tell another story!) one of its meanings is that obviously, they're not going to stay young forever! one day they won't be as famous as they are now. one day they won't be able to make music, they won't be able to perform in stadiums and meet fans! because what happens when an idol's career is over? what do you do afterward? so this song represents their passion for music and their fans, and wanting to stay forever young to continue doing what they love!! (remember that this is just one of the many meanings of this song!) 💜😭

i genuenly love so much your interpretations because sometimes theres little details of the story that are told visually and you catch on to them and for me, as someone who doesnt know about filmaking, and have been liking them since 2014 there are still details i dont know? its really interesting to see :D

Actually no matter how many music videos you see, at first you can't tell them apart lmao. U have to see their other videos like run episodes or atleast compilation videos and then you will be surprised at how quickly you can tell them apart and then you can't believe that you thought all them look alike🤣

Since you like the concept of paralax so much, I would suggest you listen to My Time from their album map of the soul 7. Its Jungkooks solo song and its korean name basically means "paralax". He talks about how time is sligtly different for him since he started working so young (lots of other layers too😆)
Idk if you wanna do a video about it though cause it doesnt have an mv, but I would recommend looking into it on your own time anyway.

The white ribbons on the fence in the beginning, it looks like in the MV 'Fire' which the ribbons were woven into the fence as the letter 'Youth'. RM is touching the last few pieces of Youth. That's how I see it.

in 9:47 that shot actually resembles a shot in the dna mv where v is also upside down but in the fake love mv we can see a writing behind v (with the cellphone wall set) that says 'im fine' but when you flip it upside down it says 'save me' there is actally a theory that v's dreams are actually jin's timelines when he goes back in time and that he sees it upside down thats why he can only see the word im fine instead of save me. more to this on their 'the notes'

Is that why when at the end of Film Out, V reached his hands out ( as in trying to help/reach out to Jin ), Jin fails to take it/disappears because he sees it as "I'm fine" rather than "save me". Because they was like some kind of wall between the two at the end ( maybe symbolising different dimensions/ parallel universe). One of the parallel universe is upside down, maybe the one of V as in DNA.

I'm not sure how well versed you are in the kpop entertainment industry, but idols have an "expiration date" so to speak. Most idol groups only last ~7 years, and afterwards public interest tends to wane, and newer and younger idol groups debut. "Young Forever" is BTS saying that even while knowing that their careers are to be short-lived, they want to, at least in this moment, be young forever. (Fyi this was before they reached massive international stardom)
ummm ...... no, that´s not what they are saying, is like black swan, an artist never knows what is going to happen, if it will last a short time because their fans stop supporting them for other reasons, because they decided to follow a different path or because the public simply lost interest. 2015, 2016 and 2017 were very difficult years for bts and army, the company was not so small but they were still in the shadow of the big companies that use all their power.
@@taequilasilver7183 You're absolutely right; it's a mix of both your and my answer actually (depending on interpretation)! An idol never knows what can happen in their career (injury, scandal, loss of popularity, company mistreatment, age/military, etc.) to cut it short. Your explanation ties into what I was saying about how an idol's career, therefore, really isn't very long. I brought up the 7 years "expiration date," because, although some idols do, most do not choose the renew their contracts, and disband.

Purple is actualy our colour (both BTS and army), Tae (V) use this phrase "we purple you" on a show one time and after became our thing. Purple means love.
When you talked that this colour bring the nostalgia feeling I also think that makes sense on us with them, we been making this amazing memories and one day the purple will mean feeling nostalgic, for a certain point of view.

For the ribbons, many think that it is connected to a certain clip in their Fire MV (but it’s not officially part of the BU so take it with a grain of salt, but so is Film Out which has a lot of BU symbolisms! Hahahaha). The ribbons form a certain word in fire and in this MV, the ribbons were unraveled or torn apart 😁

I love your channel. Whenever I see the new upload, I stop everything and click the play. When I watch this MV first time, I was crying but didn't know why. This MV reminded me all kinds of struggles I went through when I was young, and felt pain with nostalgia. Now I'm 55, this song always takes me my 20's. Thank you for reacting.

I am only half way through your video, but since I have not seen you mention this, so let me say this.
In the shots from above the maze shows all the members caged in their maze, but when see from the pov of the members in the ground we don't see all of them, we see 1 at a time. I find this very interesting. I interpret it as individuals when we stuck in a problem, we think we are the only one dealing with this. But when thinking from a larger perspective we can see all of us are stuck here... the theme of 'you never walk alone' and a major theme of BU (in BU all the members hide their pain, thinking they are alone, but if they could open up, they would know they are not alone).
