Well, duh. The abilities you select replace the abilities you would've had. So, Sleep Dart replaced Harmony Orb (which in a 1v1 setting would be useless anyway), Zarya's E Ability (Which is Projected Barrier, which is more than likely why it isn't working half the time for you since it doesn't apply itself to you) replaced Discord Orb (which would've been useful in a 1v1 to get more damage), Defense Matrix replaced Orb of Destruction Volley (AKA "Zenyatta Alternate fire"), and Graviton Surge replaced Transcendence.
