I became a contestant on the X Factor UK at the age of 60 with this song and also a traditional Welsh Lullaby Suo Gân. It will be interesting to follow your lesson, thanks! Yes, I love it too.... Wow, my family lived in Montreal for two generation, Pierre and Phillip de Rigaud, who were actually the French governors a few centuries ago. How interesting. Didn't know Leonard Cohen was a Canadian.

Hi Barbara, many thanks for your reply.... well, I do my best....... Wow, you know Suo Gân! I feel in love with it ever since I watched Empire of the Sun, thinking that it was sung in Japanese (ouch), and only discovered much later on that it was actually Welsh. When I started to sing I had to sing it in Welsh while the choir sings in English. I love to arrange my songs...... Quite naturally I became a Classical Crossover Singer, as I love to sing all songs I love and usually I say that songs also find me. I was musically educated in the classical world, but not as a singer. Thanks for your interest.... after huge problems in my private life and having wasted a lot of invaluable time I am starting to sing................ again............. Actually I never, ever thought of becoming a singer until I was 58, then met my currant husband who had a recording studio and was a videographer and he thought that I had potential, so I thought... why not.... but things took off too quickly and he didn't like it, so after years of struggles he gave up on everything, just by then singing had become very important to me and it is now a lifeline.

Many of the recordings were done some years ago, when I knew nothing about singing. I am now trying to learn how to record myself, so the quality is not best either and editing my own videos. Hopefully I will also come up with a way of filming myself. It has been a very difficult journey, but one I feel that I had to be on. I was also a semi-finalist on Holland's Got Talent (2018), and last November I sang Handel's Messiah in the Royal Albert Hall. Never thought that I would ever do all this.... I never even thought that I would ever be able to sing solo. That sounded absolutely terrifying.
