    Dear Sir,
    Allow me first to thank you for the effort and knowledge you placed in the video.
    I have a question: can we run Stress corrosion cracking on the same shape of the specimen ( C-T ) in Abaqus ?

    Thanks for your good introduction, I have a question: in abaqus, how it calculates the stress intensity factor? through J integral? If so, why we can't choose J-integral? Why only KIC can be obtained through J-integral? Thanks very much!

    I have a question, how to get delta K (Kmax-Kmin) in this case? I dont know which is Kmax or Kmin. Thanks/

    Why does Abaqus show the values of KI, KII and KIII if the simulation was done in mode I? Thank you so much!

    • @FEADith
      @FEADith  3 роки тому

      yes.. thats the errors coming from the fact the the integration contour is not smooth and large enough... the geometry is also finite width...
      so actually, they will not be exactly zero... but if you compare, the K1 is much larger than K2 or K3.. like 100 to 1.. so they are negligible..

      @@FEADith Hi, do you know how to plot the K1 values obtained against the distance from the crack tip using Abaqus? Your help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks bro for making the video, but I think K threshold of material is more appropriate for crack initiation. K1C is the material property, upon reaching which the crack will become critical and without any further increase in load the crack grows at sonic speed and results in ductile tearing or results in unbounded crack growth as they call it.

    • @FEADith
      @FEADith  2 роки тому

      Not really K is only useful if you have precrack already.. thats why it is suitable only for crack growth.. not for initiation.
      If you dont have precrack.. the whole concept about stress intensity or K is no longer relevant.

      What you just explain about has nothing to do about initiation or propagation.. what u call sonic speed or critical crack length without anyfurther loading will propagates.. thats another story.. thats about stable or unstable crack growth..

    Sir, Thanks for sharing the knowledge. Just wanted to ask a doubt, is it possible to carry out the same analysis for high strain rates to find out the "Dynamic Stress Intensity Factor"??
    Thanks in advance

    • @FEADith
      @FEADith  3 роки тому

      Yes i think its possible. Just change to explicit dynamic step, so you activated the inertia terms.. and applied high speed loading.

    Hi. I want to plot crack length of delamination in mode I with vcct method,,I use crack in history output but I don't found it in result why? The crack in history output use just for xfem and integral contour or for all cracks

    0.08 seems little less to me. I'm having he same issue.my K1 values are through te roof in 18000, but its not possible because ansys gave me close to what i expect. i Think my boundary conditions need to be checked

    Terimakasih mas atas videonya!
    Kalau boleh tau, in case multi-material component, bisa ga ya mas simulate crack growth nya dan analisa perubahan plain stress ketika crack mulai meng-inisiasi material yang berbeda? (misalkan membuat Steel-Al-Steel-Al multi-layer component) Terimakasih mas. Semoga sukses selalu

    Sir, I followed all steps. But in my model there is crack growth for 1 mm displacement . What will be the possible errors ?

    • @FEADith
      @FEADith  3 роки тому

      When you create crack, maybe u choose xfem or vcct.. thats why crack growth.
      Make sure u choose stress contour. This way, u only evaluate stress concentration not growing
