A real advantage of the hard plastic interior parts, is that it is very easy to clean, in a very short time.

One thing you failed to mention (unless I just missed it entirely) is the Rio is the ONLY car in the segment that offers a heated steering wheel - and that the heated front seats and steering wheel are STANDARD, even on the lowest base trim. It's an incredible value in this segment, and hopefully going to be parked in my driveway by fall. I had an '03 Rio RX-V when it was new ... and boy, has Kia come a long way since then.
