Love this. Ihave watched a lot of painting videos, but somehow yours are so fresh...just like your paintings! I also love your process. I think I can learn a lot from you!
The way you set up these intentions before is so simple yet brilliant at least for me. I really benefit from boundaries. I just get overwhelmed with all the techniques I’ve learned, different materials I’ve acquired, and the abundance of ideas that seems to happen the more I’ve developed in my practice.
I enjoy your content and like to paint while watching your channel. Your words of wisdom helps me improve my creativity journey and encourages me to create freely and spontaneously. Thank u 🙏
So inspiring as always, Orla! What a beautiful piece. I always come away from your videos with so many things I want to try...I think I have to start writing them down so I don't forget any 😂. I love the layers and textures...and where you end up is magical. Thank you!
Thanks so much Lianne! haha good idea, I'm an avid note taker too - I should start compiling my notes into a book of some sort - maybe a 2024 project to start :)
Aaaaarghhhhh I am so in LOVE with your color palette !!!🎨 puts me in a joyful mood despite the dark days!😊 thank you for sharing, your videos are always soothing and motivating!
It is a beautiful painting! I think you could have stopped at several places and it would have been complete~ That is the hard spot. Knowing when to stop. I've been stopping just before it might be finished. I have to get braver.
I cant stop watching your process. Its how i want to be, in the moment without any expectations. Loving your attitude and beautiful art. Jo in New Zealand 😊
Really enjoyed seeing how you took your sketches and produced the final work using the colour palette. I find taking the sketch part into a larger work really difficult so it was great to see your process. Thanks!

Thank you! I don’t, just the acrylics as is :) although can scrape and pull the medium more by playing with building layers when the paint is nearly dry, but not quite! Or by spraying water on top of recently dried / nearly dry layers to pull things back :)
Not at all, I use my mobile which I’ve just upgraded to a 15 pro specifically so I can film in 4k :) I added up, and this made more sense instead of buying a camera and lenses!

100% - sometimes it seems the more we know, the harder it is to paint 🎨 😅 I've found it really helps, hope it helps you too!
Love!!!!💖

@@OrlaStevens Thanks for responding to my comment.
I love watching your process, use of mark making tools, and eagerness to move past any fear of making art. Thank you for sharing! 🤩
thanks so much! it's so worth moving past the fear, becomes so much fun :) x

thank's so much! it's a constant work in progress, that ol' mindset, but it's worth it :)

Glad it was useful! I think it’s always a wee bit tricky that step, keeping the looseness at a larger scale 😊
I’ve loved watching this project’s metamorphosis ❤ thank you for sharing!!

Beautiful words, thank you!
Love ur videos & art practice! Just wondering, do u use mediums to slow down the drying time of ur acrylics? I love how ur able to blend & scrape etc.
Thank you! I don’t, just the acrylics as is :) although can scrape and pull the medium more by playing with building layers when the paint is nearly dry, but not quite! Or by spraying water on top of recently dried / nearly dry layers to pull things back :)
Oh ok, interesting. Thx for ur helpful reply. Will try both of those techniques.
Where did you get your sketchbook? What is the weight of the paper? Do you prep the pages before sketching?
hello 👋 this one is a 120gsm 29 x 29cm book I picked up on my travels in boesner. When I can, yes, I find it makes it way more fun!
Sorry to ask an off topic question, what camera do you use, the picture quality is really nice on your videos. Thanks for reading.

@@OrlaStevens Thanks Orla, That makes sense.
