On Mar 16th I was just getting out of the 16 days in the ICU/TCU for pneumonia, I'm a 70y/o obese diabetic with diastolic heart failure and secondary pulmonary hypertension and renal stage4 failure. What worked for me was a CPAP set at 15cm H2O, like I use at home to sleep, and high-flow oxygen into the inlet of my CPAP machine. Along with IVs of Xosin and Azythro-something of course. So blaming NIV or CPAP for worse outcomes when you haven't used O2 with it is unfair. With me it worked fine.
