I love gargoyles, in Glasgow (Scotland) we have a massive gothic cathedral, its right next to an old house a museum and a necropolis, and it has amazing looking gargoyles on it. I don't want to go against the expert opinion or anything I mean the cake looks fabulous the way it is but instead of gold you could have used red and maybe green as moss a lot of gargoyles especially the ones on older buildings would have moss on them. It would look super creepy with that effect on it. Imagine the red eyes that follow you around the room with the aged concrete gargoyle looking like it wants to slowly eat you whole mistaking you for an evil spirit.
A gargoyle is only a gargoyle if it is used on a building to direct water away...attached to a drain pipe type of thing. If not, it is called a grotesque

A gargoyle traditionally was used as an offshoot for water on top of buildings, essentially a rain gutter spout . A monster (regardless of what it looked like) that was just decoration was known as a "grotesque."
Little did they know....... That the skull had a little crab in it, and the crab just wanted to have an adventure in the kitchen. :3
