- This video shows how to play all the notes on German Soprano Recorder.

Here is the Conversion:
Letter notes & Sofa syllables
(notes that has "or" are enharmonic which mean they have the same pitch and same fingerings)
C - Do
C# or Db - Do Sharp or Re Flat
D - Re
D# or Eb - Re Sharp or Mi Flat
E - Mi
F - Fa
F# or Gb - Fa Sharp or Sol Flat
G - Sol
G# or Ab - Sol Sharp or La Flat
A - La
A# or Bb - La Sharp or Ti Flat
B - Ti
Notes that has "2" means notes in Second Octave:
C2 - Do (2nd octave, same as below)
C2# or D2b - Do Sharp or Re Flat
D2 - Re
D2# or Eb - Re Sharp or Mi Flat
E2 - Mi
F2 - Fa
F2# or G2b - Fa Sharp or Sol Flat
G2 - Sol
G2# or A2b - Sol Sharp or La Flat
A2 - La
A2# or 2Bb - La Sharp or Ti Flat
B2 - Ti
C3 - Do (3rd octave)
We can still play notes higher than C3 but that will be very "matinis". That's why for beginners, let's consider it as the highest.
The lowest note that we can play on a soprano recorder is "C" note or "do". We can play B(low) by covering the hole below the buttom part (the bell shape) of the instrument using our legs, but that's not easy specially if you're playing a song.
We can't play notes with (low) like G(low) and A(low).

learning this back after 4 years.... i really love to play recorder since i was 10 because it was my first time playing that n learning it bcs of my music subject sllybus, and then after that ny school didnt take that subject as our learning activities so we stop learning that...n then i started to learn it by myself at home but it is so hard because i have no one to guide me even i learn it from youtube but it's so hard. i stopped playing n learning it when i was 12, my knowledge is not that much, i only know the basic notes like A B C D E F n ya i gave up because i know i have no talent :(:( one day when i was 14, i mean this year, my school held a audition to join a band, so i tried to join because i really want to play it n learn it back so bad but when my teacher said cannot because there are not many people playing this instrument or how i can say its like unpopular instrument...idk... i really love to play recorder but just because i feel like no one want to appreciate my effort n then when i play this to my friend, they said tht "this instrument is so outdated u shouldnt play this kind of instrument in this era" i was like...oooh...:(:( i want to find my talent on thus but my surrounding doesnt let me....

Please don't listen to them. You can search on the internet on how amazing the recorder is 😊 Keep on blowing and don't mind them. I have a community of recorder players, the kaihip family. Hi, if i may, i would like to have some inquiries, why is my flute reccorder out of tune, like i followed the instructions you have but the sound that my flute recorder produce is not the same as yours, i can't even properly tune and playthe doreme which is basically the most basic

Is there something wrong with my recorder. So as playing C at the beginning of the video my recorder totally doesn’t play C note 😅 . I have very very old school recorder

I came here because I found my recorder cover in dust that I had from elementary school. I want to start by learning to play the theme song from the classic game Ninja Gaiden "Unbrekable Determination" . I will be very grateful to see a tutorial for that!
He has a German recorder, if you had it in elementary you probably have the baroque recorder which is what most of the world uses. What I mean is that some notes are played differently so be careful :)
