Considering he used zero shines, didn’t know other characters and that he really played like he was in ultimate that was a good show of the pro player difference
no yeah it's really interesting seeing a purely ultimate player side of rivals especially with no prior knowledge of the game (I don't even think he hit stopped or parried once either)
There def won’t be as much good stuff as Rivals 1’s modding scene (custom sprites are easier for most people to do than custom 3D models), but I bet there’s gonna be some wild stuff anyways with enough time lol
Both Rivals games are sick. I feel like you would have been good with Olympia since she's the closest thing to an FGC character in Rivals 1, supposedly every non-guest is coming back so I think that includes the workshop characters.
Considering you can get icons for the workshop characters in the store (besides the pixelated ones, like for the Dungeons enemies), I think they have a good chance
Yeah they've already stated that the workshop characters, or the workshop five as they're calling them (five cause of La Reina), are gonna return eventually just like the rest of the characters.
probably the craziest thing about Rivals of Aether is that everyone feels like they're balanced like Minecraft Steve in Ultimate but with the tech and aggressiveness of Melee: every character has a gimmick that they play around and enhances their fighting style, and the game encourages the crazy shit of Melee.
apparently the experience for players without lots of smash experience was a torture, everyone who were chaining games were either top 200 melee or ultimate players or crazy good Brawlhalla streamers.. anyone who wasn't a pro going into this could barely even touch anyone..
Yeah as questionable as the actual ranking *system* is, playing Ranked is a pretty good introduction to the game for experienced platfighter players. Helps you get used to the controls first by playing absolute newbies, you might run into one cracked unranked player to show you just what's possible but some players won't, and as you progress you see more and more of what's possible in the game. i.e. cancelling Jab 3 with any tilt being completely possible for like every single character in the game. Or the most optimal way to recover. Lots of basic, little things, the sort that add up over time.
I love the gameplay I just need to understand neutral in this game and how to move even faster. Hopping, short and long feels really good, the momentum and overall inputs are super clean, I wanna play something fast like sheik/fox or something ez comboey like sora
a cool fun fact for this game, the purple screen always appears when the player is guaranteed to die, no DI could save them (and it's actually accurate unlike smash ultimate)
From a spectators perspective this game feels weird to watch coming from coming from ultimate; like it’s almost missing something but I can’t quite tell
In some ways Rivals 1 is better, but Rivals 2 gets other aspects done better. Both have their strengths and I love both, but Rivals 2 will have better long-term longevity because it is more accessible.
the artstyle is incredible but im ngl why does every platform fighter aside from Smash have floaty ass physics. The ground movement is slidey seemingly melee-esque which isn't a bad thing if you like that, but the aerial physics in every platform fighter aside from Smash always has that floaty ass vibe. I don't get it

Holy the art style from 1 and 2 changed a lot, I wonder how custom characters are gonna hold up now…
kazuya will be added somehow and that scares me
they said they're working on it!
There def won’t be as much good stuff as Rivals 1’s modding scene (custom sprites are easier for most people to do than custom 3D models), but I bet there’s gonna be some wild stuff anyways with enough time lol
they said workshop is coming but not until 2 years from release

they said all workshop characters are coming back ! (I'm so excited for mollo and Olympia specifically)
OLYMPIA IS THE BEST, I LOVE HER
If we ever get workshop content, someone better make Terry so Riddles can be the worlds best Bogard in Rivals 2
Imagine 3D Cosmic Ronald
Workshop is confirmed as of their last update!
@@joshford256 RRRRAAAAAAAA
the movement makes me miss your melee streams bro, pressure more with shine and this Zetter is gonna COOK

This game is godlike. The first good platform fighter since ultimate
Try first good since melee >:3
Nasb2 was actually so good, no one plays tho :(
ultimates not good
Facts lol

Riddles still cooking in other games 💀
Absolutely relishing the few moments where I know more about the game than a pro
Someone tell this poor man he can finally use airdodge to recover
Small tip for Zetterburn: you can press shield on the startup of down special to gain some sideways momentum, helping with horizontal recovery.

Just wait till Cosmic Ronald gets added to the game☠
No jablocks, but you can cancel jab 1 and 2 into tilts
Riddles makes the silliest faces lmao
First time watching one of your videos, and the face you make while you are mid set is priceless. The concentration going HARD haha
From Aether Studios And Wayforward
In Rivals of Aether 2 (2024)
Bro’s gonna cry when mollo gets in 😭
Ayyyy I was that first Lox you fought! GGS!!
13:50 bro, no clones, no smoke, this guy is NOT playing Forsburn
Nice vid I’m will call you the street smash bro god
Yes! New Riddles video just dropped :)
jus wait til he finds out abt shine wave dashing and shine combos and shine shield pressure😭
What I wouldn’t give to see a classic win streak video with Terry (or roy), haven’t seen one of those in forever
Need this guy to rematch Mkok in this game frfr
Woah Riddles and Rivals?

Ranno would probably be up your alley
I wanna see pro ultimate player vs pro rivals 2 player
Cooking bro gs 🧑🍳🔥
Lol what if they added an fgc rep, like maybe from that my little pony looking fighting game
Please more
yessss play more!!!!
your facial expressions are hilarious haha
u would go crazy with Olimpia in one, or when they release her in Rivals 2

I need to learn fundamentals. My placement matches put me in silver… where are some resources for fundamentals?

I know they're annoying for players but the false finish is super hype when watching a match
@@hazels7967 that's honestly fair, on a hype aspect it is pretty sick
I just wanna play the battle royale mode
Es chino que esperan XD
Hi riddles I'm the absolute idiot who embarrassed themselves in your stream today, glad to see the good content keep it up.
What devices is this game on
just pc for now, they wanna start porting to different platforms in 1-2 years
Nice
This game is too hard for me ig. I’m better than average at most platform fighters but im like the worlds worst rivals player.
You can do it man just keep playing ranked or I actually suggest finding someone around your skill level and grind for a session
yeaaaaa keep playing. its the only way. i was decent at rivals 1 but most importantly the movement feels REALLY GOOD.
W
Not the furry smash 😭
Noice
my shit wont start up sum1 hep me
nvm
From a spectators perspective this game feels weird to watch coming from coming from ultimate; like it’s almost missing something but I can’t quite tell
It's the slower physics and knock back, coming from ultimate. Much faster in that game compared to rivals.
69th like
Rivals of aether is definitely a game of all time
true rivals 2 takes a dump on it
Gameplay looks great but presentation still seems rough
I think Rivals 1 is definitely better in my opinion
Let me guess, because it has workshop and dlc?
In some ways Rivals 1 is better, but Rivals 2 gets other aspects done better. Both have their strengths and I love both, but Rivals 2 will have better long-term longevity because it is more accessible.
@@shadewful. Because of artstyle, gameplay differences and my favorite character isnt in there.
Workshop and dlcs too i suppose
Hard disagree here, rivals 1s gameplay very linear compared to 2.
1 is trash compared to 2

Its more fun that way imo
You fell off on kazuya at least there is still tea to watch
Damn this game looks like got garbage design-wise.
At least the gameplay seems solid.
Most people don't agree with you lol
Just a worse smash
