Another thumbs up for this vlog. That really is a very big market and lots nice typical local clothes. Enjoyed seeing you trying to get a good bargain. My wife is very good at it. Yesterday we needed something for our IPad. Starting price 88, she got it down to 30. Airpod from 116 to 60. Local currency, not original but still good quality. So that is why I let her take care of the finances haha. Next time you know how to bargain, as long as you keep smiling and stay friendly. Always start with 70% less. I hope next time a longer video. Take care and have fun.
Wow!! She really can bargain it down. I absolutely struggle with bargaining, never really had to do that before! And I will try to edit the videos a bit longer, the next one should be at least :)
Guatita is tripe stew. The sauce is peanut based, and you can add chunks of potatoes and carrots to the medley. We eat it with white rice and lettuce. One of my favorite dishes growing up. So glad you visited Otavalo, my ancestral home!
Another good video.. But too short!!.. I was hoping to see more of the places in and near Otavalo that I remember.. 😄😄...But if you only had 24 hours there you did visit some of the highlights of the city. Very nice.
Thank you!! We definitely need to try to make the videos a bit longer! There is so much to do in and around Otavalo, but we're glad we got to see the market on Saturday!
Another amazing video! Thank you for sharing this experience with us. I will be traveling to Italy ( and the first for international travel) for the first time from the US next month. Do you take any special precautions with clothing, baggage, purses, etc ?
lowballing too much would cause sellers to give up, they probably didn’t make a penny, handmade organic material for $13 way too cheap, you would pay a minimum of $200 if not more here in the states. We got to help other countries too if we can.
Ecuador is beautiful but I don’t think is nice for American people to take advantage of hand made merchandise and bargain It’s takes a very long time to make those beautiful cultural clothes.
By bargaining with that lady who is an artisan, showed you such an intricate design you want to pay her 12 dollars , you became rich ?? Shame on you give her her due man , common etiquettes
im told ppl that dont negotiate are considered idiots by Ecuadorians. There is a video of then President of Ecuador a few years back going to this market negotiating for the best price. I was a documentary on Ecuador hosted by the President. Its the nature of the beast in this market
it's called Guatita. it's not a stew. is just another different dish found in South of America, here in Ecuador. It's problably a mixture a highland and cost.
Good job you two are adorable!! Thanks for the tour
Loved your video! Heading to Cotacachi and Otavalo in April, 2024…soon!

Thank you! For Italy… not necessarily. We would just pack accordingly to the weather at that moment. That’s it! Have fun on your trip! 😁
What a shame your bargaining the scarf on the market. I'm sure U$5 isn't much to you, but would be important for the lady.

No! We are still traveling :)

What a shame 😮 I bet u won’t do this in the us 😢 this is the way they earn their $$$
Balkans are in Europe by the way. Just sayin. You didn’t had to add it to Europe.
Vergüenza de pedir rebaja a la gente que no gana mucho con eso
You shouldn't have to obtain the price discounts, she is a poor craftswoman.

Rich westerners bargaining on a few dollars with the poor market vendor, well done. 🤦🏻♂️
Cow Stomach Stew…🧐
