I totally respect where this band is headed to right now, using art as a weapon to defy authority, making a better place for everyone to live in. I always knew bert was fit to be a role model, The Used is the doctrine of my life. Kinda fucked up but hella worth it. loved them ever since i knew what ink taste like...
It took me a few years to discover them but yes after listening to taste of ink blue and yellow I got hooked
I can't help but listen to this song and revel (and lament) at how the establishment has convinced all of these "free thinking" bands and artists to now be their mouthpiece or disappear into social exile and obscurity. Our current social and political climate has never been more polarized and conducted by special interest and the elites.

That's simple, you will be called a bigot, a fascist and a far right extremist and your relevance as an artist will no longer exist so get your 3rd booster, give your money to Ukraine, and tell anyone who doesn't get in line and kneel that they are a "threat to democracy". 🐑🐑🐑🐑
Great song though and great sentiment; my comment isn't an attack on Bert or The Used but more of a generalization on the industry and how entertainment and art is now an arm of the establishment.
Their slow songs, I'm not a fan of. I like their punk and hardcore roots

RichyxxRuthless right! can you imagine if each day you were constantly compared to who you were a decade ago?! strange that people expect these humans to be the exact same a decade later. I would actually be disappointed if they hadn't grown and evolved as a band and as humans. and from my perspective they kept their same unique sound. I love the used, then, now and forever!
Revisiting this song after almost 8 years of not hearing it. Crazy how time flies but I wanna say that one thing hasn't changed and that's my appreciation for this band. One love

One of the most beautifully artistic songs I've heard. Not only that, when the chorus came, I knew i found the one song that I've been waiting for that I could relate to.
Excellent! This is a terrific album, with "Revolution" being my favorite song. I love how The Used's sound can change even over the course of an album. It's hard to rank their albums in order of preference. I think that Artwork is the best album as a cohesive whole, but Lies for the Liars has my favorite of their songs on it. I can't choose, they're all excellent.

Ummmm really? They were famous back in 2002ish when they were really good and made some raw ass music. Now they're washed up and not what they used to be at all is why there is such a huge drop off in popularity

I'm so astonished and in awe at the Truthful lyricism of this whole album.
The Used is displaying a beautiful example of the global people's revolution taking place right now.
People everywhere are revolting against corrupt oppressive corporate governments who are only focused on undermining rights and serving the upper class.
We're starting wars in Syria and Iraq against "terrorist" groups that the US trained and funded and it's beyond time for Americans to Wake up to the lies the media has shaped our minds with to make us complacent with endless wars where we murder innocent people in other countries so the rich can get richer and dominate oil laden areas. The military industrial complex is a murdering machine. We're dropping bombs in other countries (destroying innocent lives) yet Americans are suffering from home foreclosures, Police brutality, famine, lack of healthcare, lack of sustainable wages, school debts. We can find money for war but we can't end poverty and make sure every American has a healthy life?
We have the ability to create harmony for every human, So let's take back our freedom and make that a reality.
Also it made my heart really warm to see Chelsea Manning (Bradley Manning) On the cover of this album. Manning's story needs to be understood by every American so we can all see the deceit our war criminal government has always been feeding us. wow...Its hard to believe some of the comments Ive seen on the hatred towards their newer albums...do any of you even know and understand the back story behind why he wrote the music the way he did at first, because for someone who's listened to them since i was little and knows the story you'd know that this change in style is a good thing, whether you like it or not because of the things overcome to get here

My emo phase ended officially in 2010. It's hard for me to imagine what emo was like in 2014. But yeah I was between 18-23 when I was into the emo scene.
Shanti Roy Well, The Used aren't exactly an emo band anymore. They're more of an experimental post-hardcore band now, with highly politicized lyrics.

Yeah, I know they have political lyrics. I wrote another post on one of their videos how it was a dream come true to me. In short my whole town discriminated against me because of my views. It was a pretty lonely time for me. I could never have imagined The Used would one day share the same views.
Just saw them play Self-Titled in full tonight. Fuck, it was amazing, full of feels and just amazing. Bert said a lot of things about sticking it to the man, and wore a sickle and hammer t-shirt. Back during the In Love and Death days I was communist but kept it hidden from my emo friends so I couldn't stop staring at the shirt all night. He brought his daughter out too and sang Poetic Tragedy to her, and she swayed back and forth. So cute.
