I don’t know anything about camera equipment but I’m grateful for this video! Best therapy for anxiety is Disney therapy! Don’t despair, the weather will get better soon. It’s been raining almost every single day in Miami too, but you’ll soon experience sunny skies, shorts and flip flop weather. And don’t forget to wear sunscreen - never leave home without applying it!
Michael, David, and Dad ~ thanks for shairng your ice cream adventure with us... Definitely a must when in DISNEY... And that Smokehouse Burger is an outstanding pick. The Comtemporary is definitely a nice place to hide out in the rain ~ lots to see. So glad to see that David has got into the "Shorts" ~ we were not sure that is was ever going to happen... Good practice day for your new camera. Thanks for another awesome video.
I really enjoy both you and your brothers’s UA-cam channels. Of course you are the first brother I started to watch on all your adventures with your family. I honestly believe you are one of the best vloggers for Disney content. Your emotions, being genuine, magical smile shines through. But I feel you and your brother are doing a disservice to each other. How? By posting your vlogs at the same time. I’m glad that you both are posting different content, but.. you are cutting your fans in half when posting at the same time during the day. You guys are amazing and just want you to succeed. And Michael you have that true Disney feel. Keep doing what you’re doing and maybe consider live streaming at the parks. Have a day set aside every week. I know I would be watching and so so so many others. Wishing you the best.
Surprised with how poor the audio is without an external. We use the Mark II which doesn’t have an external mic output and the audio has been much better than the Mark III. Also, the focus and clarity definitely looks like it’s a step down from the II. Thanks for testing this out, really appreciate you showing it all!
Other vloggers haven't liked this new Canon so you're not alone. I'm staying with Panasonic when it's time to upgrade. Please tell your Dad "Hello" for us.
Surprised at how much the weather has been dictating your plans lately! Usually you’re in the parks rain or shine. I know that you don’t have to brave the rain anymore since you’re a Florida resident so that must be nice!
I think that there is different uses for both cameras. The G7x might be better for a day in the parks when you are riding the rides because it is smaller and easier to hold onto during a ride. Whereas the bigger Vlogging Setup might be better for videos where you are going to the resorts or Disney springs and relaxing or trying to film a video in the studio because it is bigger and heavier. Both of the cameras are great.
I was really disappointed when I was told that the G7X Mark III didn't have a cold shoe mount for the mic. It's great that there is a a mic input, but it limits your options not having a shoe mount. You either have to have a separate mount on a grip, or go with a lapel mic I would guess. Picture looked good though.
I’m thinking you might have had wind reduction turned on in the settings? On my Sony camera it I had wind reduction on the Audio sounded terrible but when I turned it on, it was a lot better! You might be able to give that a try :)
So what's your final thoughts on the G7x MIII? I've read a TON on it and the consensus between most people are the extreme lack of auto-focus in a timely manner and the overheating problem when filming in 4k. I'm very curious as to your in depth thoughts as I was considering this camera until I read those things. Now I'm thinking about just getting the Mark II.
As others have mentioned, the mic is very lacking. The brightness was all over the place. From white to dark depending on location. The zoom was impressive and the stabilization was outstanding. You must’ve edited the out of focus parts because I didn’t see any bad issues except for the up close shots of you.
The picture is good, when it finally focuses. I know these cameras are pretty expensive. if it were a less expensive camera, may be a good option for a backup etc., but for what it costs the focus issue is a show stopper. Great vlog and good tip about the purple wall and (covered) fireworks viewing!
I love watching these vlogs on my commute in the morning. I have to say I wasn't a fan of the audio of the new camera. Thank you for sharing the magic as always.
Mike, Congrats on your magical move! I found you when looking up Disney Cruise videos and now, my fiance and I have a cruise booked!! Thank you for sharing all your magical experiences with us! If you are looking for a lightweight and water resistant camera case for the parks, check out Chicken Tramper Ultralight Gear! They make each bag custom so it will fit your camera and be the colors you like! I have a fanny pack from them and I use it all the time! Keeps everything dry in the rain!
Great vlog as always! The camera did pretty good, but there seems to be some sort of noise reduction setting that needs to be changed for the audio. The AF is not terrible, as the depth of field isn't really shallow enough to be too distracting. Like you said, this is a great compact B cam for when the big rig just doesn't fit the situation.
I guess the best benefit of this camera is the ability to use the canon gateway account to live-stream directly to UA-cam.. 20 megapixels isn't bad though. The auto-focus is a bit sub-par.
Hi Michael, first of all we love your videos and congrats on moving to Orlando! About the G7X mklll; It is disappointing. We had hopes that the mkIII would not suffer of such slowness in focusing as the mkII that we currently use. And as for the sound quality! The mkII is even better! Do you still have other contenders in mind as a potential second camera? Thanks for your great content on UA-cam and maybe next time we'll see you in Mainstreet! (Paris or Disney World 😜)
Hi Michael, Sven here again. Just had the chance to hold the G7X mkIII in my own hands. Just like you still not impressed. As far as I can tell the only features that could make it interesting for us as a new camera are the mic jack and that we can use the same batteries we have for our current MkIII. But the auto focus is still terrible.
You can find audio/video comparison between the 2 generations on youtube and audio seems about the same, so maybe audio wind filter settings could be changed to improve (unless it simply depends on ambient noise). The biggest changes of III is 4K video and mic output but that was not utilized here. So you don't gain much in 1080p with internal mic over the previous model. The new RX100 VII should do much better with focusing if you're willing to spend $1200. You'll find several tests and comparisons now (e.g. from Gordon Laing). From what I've seen so far internal mic is not any better with the Sony. The 4K though seems to have bit more resolution and you'll have bit more zoom and viewfinder. W/B is little bit different so something to check out.
ooo yeah that sunset did look really nice in the camera. too bad about the slow focus because I think that will come up a LOT more often that zooms or pretty sunsets
I have the g7x II. The pace of the focus is poor on that as well. You have to be more deliberate and conscious of the focus before you start vlogging. It’s a pain but you get used to it. I actually think the audio quality is better on the mkII. Of course, no audio input though. Bottom line is that the g7x is a great camera, but of course not as good as your 70d. If you want to bring a smaller/lighter camera, the g7x is the way to go. It would be a phenomenal ‘B’ camera if that’s what you use it for! The canons just have tremendous color and depth to their imagery. You still get that on the g7x, despite its weaknesses! ❤️
I'd look at maybe renting the Sony A6500 with Sony 18-105 F4. I love my A6400 which I would recommend, but it has no IBIS which I believe you would totally want for your vlogs. The 18-105 does however have OSS, so maybe that could still sway towards the A6400? The 18-105 also has Power Zoom for smooth zooming throughout. (You don't have to use the zoom ring).
Dave at 1:30 😂😂😂 the picture looks great on this camera but yes the audio and white balance and auto focus need some help!! Also I watched HEA from near the purple wall just last night and it was a great spot!
Hey Michael, The visuals are great, but the audio is a big step back compared to the previous model. The audio sounds almost pixelated and distorted. I appreciate the new hardware, but I feel a new microphone is a much needed addition!
Michale even thought your audio is not the best but I still love your Disney magic with in your heart. I heard that there will be a big Disneyland in Moscow.
The brightness, clarity and picture quality are awsome! Smaller camera must be alot better for you! Looking forward to the mic- it will make it perfect! Congrats to David on GALACTIC HERO!!!
There are moments where the camera really does well, but it may need more testing. Also try dluxe burger! I think it will change your opinion on best burger on property.
I probably have missed the answer but, do you have a long drive? The car trip and parking would tire me on the parks first. So love your vlogs. Longtime viewer and Disney nut.
It does great in low light better then your old camera . Maybe you can use both . One for short visits and one for longer days . Maybe get a small mic for this. Either way your vlogs will be great!!
Hammy David and his Ghradelli pronounciations. Look at dad go behind you ! Always good to see dad! The focusing is not bad on this end, but definitely a sound issue when outdoors.
Picture is miles better. Not sure it's fair to rate the camera on its audio - it for sure needs an external mic IMO. Clearly some focus issues, but it does look like you're on a wider aperture than on your previous camera, or failing that perhaps the sensor is larger than your last camera so the depth of field appears more shallow? Either way, worth sticking with I think once you've got your mic! Edit: also feels like a more stable picture to me too
Good choice of camera Great video as always But Man Oh man You DEFINATELY need an external mike The stabilization was incredible!!! What’s the zoom ratio? I’m still laughing over the ending
First you need a mic like you probably use on your 70d - secondly the focus is not the same as it is contrast based so it is less good but it wasn't that bad - I definitely prefer the 70 D though -
Don't be hard on yourself. The visuals were pretty solid, even if it does take that extra second. The sound wasn't crystal clear, but I was never struggling to hear you. Once you have the mic you will be all set.
I think this camera would be fantastic for some night time shots of parts of Disney World all lit up at night. Like main street at night or fireworks pictures from the hub. World Showcase perhaps. But I think your other camera was perhaps a bit better for day time vlogs. Congratulations Galactic Hero David. There's those gamer skills haha.
Picture is better, audio not so much. That’s how my dslr is too unfortunately, I bought it as a photography camera only later wanting to vlog with it and ran into the problem of a terrible microphone. I’ll have to buy a external mic for it.
Video is a 6/10, Audio is pretty unusable at most points if we're evaluating the camera itself. Content was great as always. Coming from another creator, would you consider the RX100 series? I love mine.
audio not good need an external mic, exposure is erratic, and I noticed a few spots where I didn't know where it was focusing. I like the idea of trying out the smaller camera to vlog with though, maybe find another brand camera and try it out, the smaller will be easier for you on a day to day basis.
Had a hard time keeping your face in focus... it seems to focus on the background a lot. For a similar size you could try the new Sony Rx100 VII (it also has a microphone jack). I would recommend the Sony A6400 with the 10-18mm F4; it would still be a much smaller rig than your Canon 70D.
Dear Michael, if I may, I’d like to say something here. My husband is now suffering from kidney failure due to several things, to be honest, but one of them, a big one, is the fact that he ate too much red meat all his life. Please, please, eat more chicken and fish and veggies. That will help you keep healthy. Not just water, but more veggies, please. You and Dave are very young and can still make a change of diet to live healthy for a long, long time. Your new camera is awesome, very stable, and clear image, congratulations!
Wow, I'm shocked at the audio quality of the Mark III! I record on a G7X Mark II and have no issues with the microphone. Maybe they cut back since the new model can take an external mic? In any case, thanks for curing my FOMO on the Mark III and great video as always!!!
Not kidding, new to the channel. Dont know the family yet. Just found out they were brothers, 5 video in. Definitely appears hes struggling to catch up figured it was a cast member or something.
Original camera is better - somehow it seemed to be a nicer video and definitely better audio with a mic - waiting for the focus with the new camera was not so good - But we love your videos so no matter what camera you use, we always enjoy :) Have a magical day!!
I think the picture is better, but sadly the audio needs an external mic clearly
Kris Broholm totally agree. I like the 60 frames per second but the audio is not quite there
What a fun day! Definitely agree, your original camera is the way to go!
Dave Kay OMG! Your pronunciations of Ghirardelli was like a Monty Python skit. 😂😂
coffeeCHATchick 😂 so glad you liked it!
Yes he needs his old camera David
Give d-luxe burger a try. That’s the best burger on property for sure

Just got my fast passes booked for my family for our October trip. Got Flight of Passage and Slinky dog as well as the other busy attractions!
Conner Chaney so awesome!!
Surprised with how poor the audio is without an external. We use the Mark II which doesn’t have an external mic output and the audio has been much better than the Mark III. Also, the focus and clarity definitely looks like it’s a step down from the II. Thanks for testing this out, really appreciate you showing it all!
MattAndAlex so glad I could test it for you! Fully agree this is not the best camera
You 2 really need to try D-Luxe Burger at Disney Springs! Those are amazing!
I’m sure you will get things sorted out soon! Another great vlog making me miss Disney. 😀👍
Love your videos! Like watching the brothers having so much fun!!
Congrats to David on making Galactic Hero on Buzz Lightyear !
We were just at DS last Friday night and Ghirrideli too. We already miss Disney!
Other vloggers haven't liked this new Canon so you're not alone. I'm staying with Panasonic when it's time to upgrade. Please tell your Dad "Hello" for us.

Steven James I agree the mic was on a very low volume and sounded very muffled
I’m so jealous! My family is planning to move in about 3 years. You two seem so happy!
Mike have you tried the sliders at brown derby bar area.
The picture is good, when it finally focuses. I know these cameras are pretty expensive. if it were a less expensive camera, may be a good option for a backup etc., but for what it costs the focus issue is a show stopper. SevrenLuna thank you! Agree with you! Not that good at all.
I actually really liked the new camera quality a lot 👍🏻 (minus the sound quality since it was not miked properly). Visually it was really nice ✨.
Mike,
Congrats on your magical move! I found you when looking up Disney Cruise videos and now, my fiance and I have a cruise booked!! Thank you for sharing all your magical experiences with us!

The mark 2 has a pretty good audio built in. Did you try an external mic with it?
I like the other camera too. This one seemed spotty in places.
💜💜💜
Great vlog as always! The camera did pretty good, but there seems to be some sort of noise reduction setting that needs to be changed for the audio. Loved the ending! LOL. I like your old camera better but just love watching your videos despite what camera you use.
Congrats David! I have had the same battery dying issue when vlogging. Glad you are enjoying the new research.
I guess the best benefit of this camera is the ability to use the canon gateway account to live-stream directly to UA-cam.. 20 megapixels isn't bad though. The auto-focus is a bit sub-par.

David seems to be becoming more animated and relaxed every day!
david is so cute saying ghiradelli in all the different ways LOL!
With all the rain happening, can you show us what your rain gear for your camera looks like all dressed up? How do you VLOG in the rain?
Good idea for the future. Thanks
ooo yeah that sunset did look really nice in the camera. too bad about the slow focus because I think that will come up a LOT more often that zooms or pretty sunsets

Also a great one!! Thank you!!
Your poor father is running to keep up with you two slow down so he can keep up with you. Oh has your dad moved down with you too?
It was so good to see your dad!
I think the picture quality is much better than the other camera. The focus time isn't bothersome as a viewer.
The picture and stablization are great. The sound was terrible at first, but then got a little better. Weird.
Dave at 1:30 😂😂😂 the picture looks great on this camera but yes the audio and white balance and auto focus need some help!! Also I watched HEA from near the purple wall just last night and it was a great spot!
Hey Michael,
The visuals are great, but the audio is a big step back compared to the previous model. The audio sounds almost pixelated and distorted. I appreciate the new hardware, but I feel a new microphone is a much needed addition!
I’m surprised the audio is so bad. Tim tracker just got the mark iii and their audio was fine. Can you attach a mic to it?
Tim uses an external mic, this cameras visual is great, but it definitely needs that external mic!
Yes you can attach an external microphone but I wanted to test it without. I was also waiting for it to be shipped
Galactic hero!!! congratulations!!
Michale even thought your audio is not the best but I still love your Disney magic with in your heart. I heard that there will be a big Disneyland in Moscow.
KC THELITTLECHEF just wanted to test it. Thank you!
Love the Contemporary!!!!! Hi Dad!!!🥰🤩😆😃
Love the picture, but the sound is off. How long is your dad staying with you in Florida??
I love the quality of that camera! I'm sure with a mic it will make everything A1.
I use the g7x mark 2 and my audio is fine, not sure what’s going on here with yours. Do you think you had it on the wrong setting?
The brightness, clarity and picture quality are awsome! Smaller camera must be alot better for you! Looking forward to the mic- it will make it perfect!
Congrats to David on GALACTIC HERO!!!
There are moments where the camera really does well, but it may need more testing.
Also try dluxe burger! I think it will change your opinion on best burger on property.
I probably have missed the answer but, do you have a long drive? The car trip and parking would tire me on the parks first. So love your vlogs. Longtime viewer and Disney nut.
Thank you so much. About 35 minutes. Worth it for Disney
@@JourneyTogetherToday I agree. Def. worth it.
Yes the focus is also the main problem with Tim using the g7x
Micheal - Huge fan - Any chance you'd give the Sony RX100 VII a shot? I know you're a Canon guy but I think you'll really like it.
Whatever Camera works to keep the Magic coming
😊😊😊👍
Congrats on becoming a Galactic Hero! Would've been nice to see dad a bit too. As always, great vlog!
My first thought is the audio isn't great. I understand no mic, so perhaps it could be better. The picture though looks great.
Curious as to why not choose the Sony a6400
Your picture is clear, nice. Need your mic. Pooh on the rain. Ty for video. 😊😊
How do you get to park at the resort without a reservation??!!!! 🤔
I am curious as well. I’ve attempted to park at the resort so many times just to get quick service and have been told to park at the park parking lot.
Christinne Roach-Lugo it is hit or miss without a reservation.
I really miss your informational videos rather than watching you and David wander through WDW. When will you start them again?
There will be a mix in the future.
If the audio was better with an external mic, this camera has very superior visuals, color depth is incredible and stabalization is great!
Edit: also feels like a more stable picture to me too
Good choice of camera
Great video as always
But
Man
Oh man
You DEFINATELY need an external mike
The stabilization was incredible!!!
What’s the zoom ratio?
I’m still laughing over the ending
Yay! Go David! He should do a video on how to get the best scores (if he hasn’t already)
How was that French Fry Dave? 😂😂😂
Michael and David Kay, best burger is at Disney Springs. DLUX Burgers OMG dont miss it
I think this camera would be fantastic for some night time shots of parts of Disney World all lit up at night.
Hey Michael! If you want a good burger I would HIGHLY recommend the Edison Burger at the Edison in Disney Springs! Have a magical day!
Grapefruit has the longest walk to DS.
I couldn't help notice how many people are staring at you with a puzzled look while you were vlogging
I truly appreciate you looking out for us. I will definitely try to eat more chicken
Michael Kay I really enjoy your videos. I’ve only been to WDW once, so watching you makes me both remember and long for Disney. Thank you
Definitely needs an external mic of some sort. Can’t comment on picture quality as I am blind, so the audio is everything from my perspective.
Wow, I'm shocked at the audio quality of the Mark III! I record on a G7X Mark II and have no issues with the microphone. Maybe they cut back since the new model can take an external mic? In any case, thanks for curing my FOMO on the Mark III and great video as always!!!
Young At The Parks glad I can help! Yes I can’t recommend that camera
I think the audio is better on the mk II as well!
What was with the guy with the walker chasing you in the shop!?!?
Weslemania Games hard to tell on UA-cam if you’re kidding or not but that was his Dad. 😉
Not kidding, new to the channel. Dont know the family yet. Just found out they were brothers, 5 video in. Definitely appears hes struggling to catch up figured it was a cast member or something.
Ok, I couldn’t tell, that’s why I answered anyway 😉
Original camera is better - somehow it seemed to be a nicer video and definitely better audio with a mic - waiting for the focus with the new camera was not so good - But we love your videos so no matter what camera you use, we always enjoy :) Have a magical day!!
Hey Michael see ya reel soon did a video on how to get galactic hero. It shows you which spot to hit to get the most points. Check it out.
I think I took for granted the audio quality of an external mic.
Mark Sanders haha you and me both
Definitely need a microphone for this new camera. Picture quality seemed fine even when zoomed.
Maybe an external mic will help. But the built in mic was not great. Well...as my dad used to say...you don’t know if you don’t try! 😉
Definitely get an external mic with wind cover. Audio is low and tinny, but video is great.
The camera gets the same review a lot of food items have gotten from you... "It's not bad, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get it again."
Epcot today and going to biergarden
The sound is off but the pic is great
Hi Michael & Dave the audio at the begging is not to good but in some parts it gets better on and off
Hi to your dad too
Personally I liked your old camera. Sound was always great and picture was excellent.
Don’t worry it was just a test
pic looks awesome!
