The concert was realized at 2018-"Malvinas Argentinas Micro-Stadium"-10.000 people (sold out arena); The DVD edition was in 2019. Greetings from Argentina😉🤘
One of my absolute favourites! I can get lost in the melody with Floor's angelic voice. I also love the profound economy of the lyrics which (for me) in four simple stanzas whimsically honours the ocean across time from the ancient poets to modern scientists. They have completely different perspectives but the same awe and respect for the mighty ocean. Whenever I hit the ocean and can only see the blue around me I think of this song.
There r quite a few Nightwish ballads besides 'Sleeping Sun' ... They did - 'Eva' ... 'Slow love slow' ... 'Turn loose the mermaids' ... 'While your lips are still red' ... 'The islander' ... 🔥🤘
Young Tuomas wanted to be a marine biologist. He refers to himself as Ocean Soul also Dead Boy. The next song is "Dead Boy's Poem", sad but beautiful, one of my favorites. The lyrics in that one are easier to interpret, I think, not that there were no room for understanding it more then one way. But the basic idea is quite clear. I'm sure someone will tell you what Tuomas himself has revealed what the song is about.
Floor (and Marko)'s voice is/are the extra instruments in this piece. You'll enjoy "Dead boy's poem" so beautiful and personal to Tuomas (like Poet and the Pendulum). Marco is playing his Warwick Infinity / Panthera Double neck Bass and Framus Guitar
@nikkireviews, Dead boys poem was written by young Tuomas and is essentially his own obituary. It explores how he might be remembered when gone as well as being a letter to those left behind. You'll note that the normally impish Emmpu is unsmiling for this one. He and Tuomas have been friends since before NW and I think he feels the gravity of this song. Very beautiful, though, one of the best.
You were right about the year of the concert. Nightwish's "Decades" world tour was exceptionally short, lasting less than a year. The whole tour fit into 2018. Then 2019 they were busy. First, this Buenos Aires concert 2018 dvd came out in the spring of 2019, and in the summer of 2019, the making of the new album started (rehearsing, recording in Finland and London, mixing, etc.) and it came out in the spring of 2020. And then came the pandemic, which stopped everything...
Hi Nikki! The next song is "Dead Boy's Poem"; For me one of those included in the "Big-5" of Nightwish performances with Floor as vocalist. The other 4 would be "Ghost Love Score"; "The Poet And The Pendulum"; "The Greatest Show On Earth" and "Shoemaker" (unique not yet seen by you, included at the last album). I look forward to your "reaction/analysis/interpretation of the lyrics" and I'm sure you will enjoy it very much. Thanks and greetings from Argentina!!!
The outfit is custom made, as with most of her outfits due to her height of 183cm (6'0" for you in the US). Designed by Royal Black Couture in Austria and they promised never to recreate it. Marco frequently uses The Beast as his double neck is known. Marco is a Warwick artist and the upoer part (bass) is Warwick, while the liwer 6-string is by Framus - Framus and Warwick are the same group of companies. DSC is about the oceans and seas. It repurposes Shakespeare - the first two lines, "In your creation heaven did decree/That in your arms sweet death should dwell" is lifted from Sonnet 93: "But heaven in thy creation did decree that in thy face sweet love shall ever dwell". It reached No 3 in the Finnish charts.
Speaking of slow songs, a real slow song, first one that comes to mind is "Slow Love Slow". There is a bootleg recording with Floor on vocals (I think it's an Anette-era song), which isn't bad, actually, but Floor also did it in her solo show in Amsterdam last year, and that's recorded professionally.
Is the ocean the main or just the frame story for another song of yearning? Like "that in your arms sweet death should dwell" ... "saved my soul thinking: this song's a lie" ..."the age will say: this poet lies, Heaven never touched earthly face, the age will say: this night was ours, blessed with THE deep, THE silent, THE complete!" P.S. And yes next song gave me goosebumps, too. Dead Boy might also refer on Tuomas' inner child, e.g. why he otherwise wrote "I wish to see the lost in me".
Highly recommend the Tarja version of 'Deep silent complete'... the difficulty in singing the song in the operatic octave that Tarja recorded it is impressive 🔥🤘🤘
@@nikkireviews the version of Tarja's to listen to is the Wishes to Eternity concert. I'm a Floor Jansen nut, but in my opinion Tarja's version is better. Best wishes for 2024
While I agree that the original version with Tarja on vocals is better, as is the case with a number of Nightwish classics, to say it SUCKS is a bit overdramatic. Its a decent rendition.
Yes. Pharaoh sails to Orion, Sleeping sun, Walking in the air, Deep silent, Devil & The Deep Dark Ocean and next songs built only on Tarjas voice... But at metal concerts I like Floor.

Ah okay, I thought it was something like that! 😊
Yes 30 Sept 2018 was the concert. The DVD/BluRay was released 6 December 2019

Wow, that is a very beautiful description of the song! Thank you so much for sharing that. 💛

I think all I know so far of those is While Your Lips Are Still Red. I really liked that one!
Fantastic Nightwish , gorgeous Nikki
Hehe thank you 😊🎵
I love this song. Such a beautiful melody. This is another single for Nightwish.

Where's Valtte when you need him?

Ocean soul is often used by Tuomas. I to do think it is about himself!❤❤❤❤

Ah okay, I thought that made sense!
What is a siren If not Floor Jansen? Great reaction!❤
That is true. 🤔 And thank you!
That’s Marko’s double neck bass/ 6 string guitar. It’s called the Beast because it weighs 45 lbs. Excellent Reaction! 🎸🤘
8,4 kg is the weight
Hi Nikki; Congratulations for the first 8K of suscribers... and counting!!!. Happy new year!!! Nightwish/Floor fans!!!😎😉🤗🤘👍👏
Thank you so much! 💛🎵

🤗🍒🤘🏻😘 well done Nik
Thank you 😁

Like "that in your arms sweet death should dwell" ... "saved my soul thinking: this song's a lie"
..."the age will say: this poet lies, Heaven never touched earthly face, the age will say: this night was ours, blessed with THE deep, THE silent, THE complete!"
P.S. And yes next song gave me goosebumps, too. Dead Boy might also refer on Tuomas' inner child, e.g. why he otherwise wrote "I wish to see the lost in me".
Definitely year 2018. Basically It's a tribute to the majesty of the Ocean (one of Tuomas' favorite source of inspiration and symbol of birth/rebirth)
Very cool. 🌊
Yes Nikki, that is called a Double neck Bass, Marko calls it the Beast because it weighs 14 pounds!!!
Oh wow! 👀
Thanks
Thank you 😁
2:53 Yes, Floor is tall. There is some debate as to how tall, which she has addressed:- ua-cam.com/video/iZwu7VosIgU/v-deo.html
👏👏
🤩👍💥💯🎼
🤘😎 🇫🇮 💙
😁🤘🎵
Beautiful song...the voice Floor is out the world...amen for the creation of God❤

I bet! I will check it out!

Yep double neck Warwick Bass and Fernandez guitar.
Warwick bought them out..
The guitar part is a Framus
🤘🤘🤘👍👍👍😘
🤘😁
check out the original lineup of this song from 2002 when they were young, raw, hungry and metal 🤘🏼This is so over produced.
This version SUCKS. You have to hear the ORIGINAL SINGER of NIGHTWISH named TARJA, do this sing way better!!!🙂👍👍
😂
I'll definitely check out the Tarja version 😊
While I agree that the original version with Tarja on vocals is better, as is the case with a number of Nightwish classics, to say it SUCKS is a bit overdramatic. Its a decent rendition.
Seriously?. Go watch Tarja then. STOP creating DIVISIONS in the NW community. Neither Tarja nor Floor approve of this nonsense
Yes. Pharaoh sails to Orion, Sleeping sun, Walking in the air, Deep silent, Devil & The Deep Dark Ocean and next songs built only on Tarjas voice... But at metal concerts I like Floor.
🇬🇧 Norfolk along for the ride 😊love this one ☝️
Marco guitar is called the beast
Woo hoo, thanks for watching! 🎵 The beast, I like that!
