So if you buy a phone that is locked to a network like AT&T then you'd like to use a T-Mobile sim card in the phone it wont allow it as the phone was locked to AT&T. You can unlock the phone as explained in the video so then the phone can be used with any sim card, not just AT&T's. Hope that makes sense.

unfortunately tracfone cannot be unlocked with an unlock code. When you enter the new sim card usually phone will prompt with a Sim Lock -1 or something of that variety. But there is not place to enter the code. IMEI's for those phones can be retrieved however by either trying *#06# (which probably did not work) and also by going into the settings and the about device tab (on the bottom). In there usually shows IMEI, software, etc.

Question: Since my phone only had my sim card in there I just use my same sim card ? My phone is a plan Samsung. I do not know how the Ebay guy unlocked the phone.
