I can honestly say this is the best interview of Neil that I have ever seen. A true treasure enabling us to peer into the heart and life of an incredible human being. A big part of why Rush is so beloved--the incredible talents, sophisticated and thought provoking lyrics, and wonderful down to earth guys trying to perfect their craft and love of music together. Bravo
Good interview. Wallin is the rare interviewer who is there just enough. She doesn't try to impress a personality upon the viewership but rather focuses on the conversation at hand. Well done.
What an amazing, objective, intelligent and articulate human being. One would never suspect that this man is the greatest rock drummer who ever lived - He sounds more like a professor.
An amazing professor at that though I know a lot of people also forget that in my opinion he was one of the greatest Poets of the last half of the last century... being the bands one and only lyricist.... is anyone aware of any other band in the world who's Lyricist is their drummer ?
Thank you for uploading - what a great interview! 2:57 - ‘Envy is the motor of destruction’ - an insight of the human condition that can help explain so many wrongs in the world.
I really relate to his comments about Religion and about not being a cynic, but being a sceptic. Although I am Christian, I am sceptical about much that organized religion offers us. However, I work for a charity which was set up when a whole load of different churches put aside their differences and and decided to work together - which is what its meant to be about in my mind.
The most self-depracating individual I have even witnessed, coupled with phenomenal transparency. How life moulded this man one will never fully comprehend, but I consider (we) can all take a leaf out of Neil's book to be better human beings (& drummers).
Yeah, she did a great job. I've seen some people list another interview she did with Geddy in 1999 on their bootleg lists but I've never actually seen any of that one. If it really exists I'd love to see it. She's been in politics in Canada for the last 10 years or so.
I just found this series of videos and I watched the whole thing twice. I don't get tired of Neil talking. He's so smart and interesting. I may not agree with all the things he says but I can't help it if I'm right. ;-)
BTW God can't die. It's not like He created everything and then rested. He is creating us millions of times per second so we die n come back to life millions of tines per sec. but since it's so fast we don't feel it coz existence takes a lots of energy nonexistence takes none so it takes over... the universe n us disappear into oblivion then God brings us back...sort of like light bulb n electricity... That is about this material world which is called the world of images . That means we are only images (nothing is real but the pains n joys seem so real to us cuz we've forgotten the other world) n our reality is in the other (Real) world where our spirit is n our limbic body goes to when we die (actually released from this fake world) and everyone cries while the dead is full of joy!! . Sorry it takes more to explain but J wrote tok much. I cant help it cuz evetyones been lied to.... keep that in mind The ppl who don't believe in God are either liars of fools. It's like I know the treasure is on the right but tell you it's on the left so you get lost. Don't fall for lies...most of us are fooled. I was too until I saw the light n truth.....found out how it works...
I know with surety that many people in these comments must feel that it's such a shame to lose him from this earth. You think about some of the mindless people in the public eye and how they're still here, but God must have wanted him more. I'm not a religious nut, but it's impossible to make sense of it without thinking there must be a reason we can't comprehend. I love him like so many other people.
Ugh, thanks for ruining an otherwise spectacular interview by leaving in the trailer for that horrific Romeo & Juliet remake with Leonardo DiCraprio...

What a fantastic interview, thankyou so much for this.
Good interview. Wallin is the rare interviewer who is there just enough. She doesn't try to impress a personality upon the viewership but rather focuses on the conversation at hand. Well done.
She also does a marvelous interview with Phil Collins (circa 1996).
Thanks for sharing this interview. Now I know why I love Neil, and the band Rush. Wonderful human beings.
What an amazing, objective, intelligent and articulate human being. One would never suspect that this man is the greatest rock drummer who ever lived - He sounds more like a professor.
amsterdope he's called "The Professor"
fuckin' eh
Hence his nickname Professor Peart
He was a professor highly intelligent.
An amazing professor at that though I know a lot of people also forget that in my opinion he was one of the greatest Poets of the last half of the last century... being the bands one and only lyricist.... is anyone aware of any other band in the world who's Lyricist is their drummer ?
Thank you so much for sharing this, It's always amazing to hear Neil speak. He was truly an amazing human being. And the best drummer ever!!
What a great human being and drummer extraordinaire! Many thanks for the upload!
You've always been an inspiration to me Neil

He was such an awesome man. The world is a lonelier place without him.
Quite so, Bernadette...
It is amazing that I've heard people criticizing him for taking drum lessons at his age as though somehow learning more is a negative thing.
04:10 "insultant" Best word ever. (except maybe for meteorblitzkrieg)
Thank you so much for posting! Wonderful natural chemistry between them. Best Neil Interview I've seen.
Thank you very much for posting
Listening to this interview should be part of the worlds syllabus. Attenborough, Dawkins bless him .
what a great interview!
great interview

Heartbreaking that his family of three, and his life as he knew it, only had a few months left
Thanks for the nice comment!
thanks so much for posting these.
Criticism with dignity and respect.... Just think, if only a lot of people all over the world could take heed, it could be a very different place!
Well done, sir. I always pray for you and the boys.
Incredible interview. A big thanks to the interviewer and another one to the person who uploaded this video for all of us. Thank you! :))
Soooo good!!!!!
Too much ego? That person needs an 'insultent'. Perfect!
Thank you for uploading these.
Thanks very much for uploading this interview. Hold onto the bars over rough terrain!

Wow never saw this before ❤️😎
Great interview, but she interrupts (talks over) Neil too much, but being the gentleman that he is, he doesn't (seem to) mind it.
Ugh, thanks for ruining an otherwise spectacular interview by leaving in the trailer for that horrific Romeo & Juliet remake with Leonardo DiCraprio...
Is it just me, or does his eyes look tired?
Doesn't sleep much
