This was me in college giving my speech in public speaking 101... Sweating bullets!!!
Doing a vid is such a challenge in itself.. Wanted to point out some things I noticed. 1.) The camera crew all wether technical and film crew. Not just the guy who holds the expensive camera. The crew behind the lenses did great.. Very clear and amazing editing skills.. No heavy breathing from mic feed back, that one is key, true professional video. 2.) Doing a presentation infront of a camera crew is one thing, but infront of an audience as well as you tube, takes control.. Didnt panic after he began to panic.. Just kept on truckin, that in itself is a feet.. Great vid guys.
I bought MOOG inner and outer tie rods and will be greasing with synthetic grease. The intro to this video had me thinking the narrator was up to something suspicious.
Synthetic grease is good. I got OEM sway bar links on my car now. I just ordered some Moogs and wanted to know what kind of grease. Thanks
Bro best bet is just say from the heart and knowledge, you’ve experience over the years, that will give more educated and more experienced tips to the non-educator experience forget about the UA-camrs video just give as much information and as accurate as you can
Full synthetic meaning, lithium based, silicone based, petroleum based, chicken grease synthetic??? Can u look to the side and answer the question please?
lithium complex grease fortified with moly. This evening I’ve been looking into this. It’s a dry grease that is kind of powdery. From what I’ve learned, using regular grease is one of the biggest fail reasons for overlanding.
@@joehardy7984 Your statement is false, but if you still believe it to be true then please share your sources. High-quality EP synthetic greases will perform as well or better in some use cases than a moly-fortified grease. Moly isn't a magic substance. You need to understand what the moly does to know why it is in there, and you need to check grease ratings for wear and washout test results to know how they will perform.
Just installed Moog inner and outer. The inner had some thick yellow grease in them. Should I add my black grease to it?
Do you grease the tie rods with the weight applied on the part or without the weight applied.
Great video. I learned a lot.
If adding grease ever oil change, would that over stretch the boot, as you previously cautioned. I prefer to purge my grease until only red and tacky is coming up. The only problem is the quality of some boots
I just bought lower control arm from moog. Do I have to install grease when installing part? I squeezed it it didn’t feel like any grease in it
Do you have to grease the new Sway Bar links? How do you know when to stop?
@dthorne4602 Yeah I lubricated the inside of the boots and also the grease fitting on the Moog sway bar links. But I haven't done the rear ones yet because I don't have a grease gun fitting that is angled and can fit.
@@doors1708 front sway bar links for this truck in the demo don't have grease fittings or boots, they use solid bushings and require no grease. Maybe you are thinking about something else, or a totally different kind of car.
My original Hyundai tide rod and ball joints never grease for 17 years just replace it , why do I have to grease it now on every oil change ?
I bought moog ball joint that doesn't have the grease fitting. Now it's making noise after a year. Get something that has a grease fitting.
All moog ball joints have fittings, but the zerk must be screwed into them during install. If yours have a hole on them instead, somebody forgot to install the zerk fitting.
Do I need to put Grease before installing the parts.or ready to install.
I would grease them even if they are already greased. I think he states that in the video.
Nice. But you missed the part that people who already know how to grease a chassis part. What is the small plug where one would expect a grease fitting to be on the lower ball joint and how do you get grease in there?
The plug is usually red rubber/plastic and should be discarded when you install the zerk fitting
What size Zirk fittings are on the ds800981a? The both broke off after one greasing. The threads are super short.
Idk ... Something about another person not being able to look me in the eye/camera makes me not trustem
Oh and also. Yeah no I didn't have any grease in my ball joints from the factory (rock auto)
which is better- non vs greaseable parts?
In my opinion, grease able but you have to actually grease it regularly. If you don't actually grease them they are probably worse since they are not completely sealed.
Do you have to grease the new Sway Bar links? How do you know when to stop?
7,500-10,000 mile oil changes are just fine....if you're driving 400 miles a day.
Who are moog distributors here in Saudi Arabia? None of the names on website are exciting!
I thought the guy was blind the way he didn’t look at the camera.
Yes, if he is gonna do that every time, maybe he could wear fade gradient sunglasses
The inner tire rod really don't have a way to grease it..I unscrew the inner tie then have a bolt that will screw into inner rod..fill up the screw hole with grease turn the bolt until the grease comes out the joint then clean the threads
Moog's chinese made parts are crap..doesn't matter how much grease you pump in..last Moog parts I bought lasted 90 days. Replaced with Spicer..$4 more and one year later they're still good.
Do you know if the parts made in Mexico are better? I just installed Moog sway bar end links, and they say made in Mexico.
I installed MOOG ball joints in my brother-in-law's van and about a year later, they're still fine. They were greasable ofc....👍😁
Uhhhh 🙄 how about a couple links to help one purchase applicable grease as well as the recommended hand grease gun? I think I speak for most if not all DIYerrs.
If you guys are looking for new customers you have to provide more information than what is stated in your promotional marketing video.
Currently greasing your PROBLEM SOLVER ball joints to try and squeeze some extra life out of them because the boots have all split after less than two years and 20,000 miles! Huge disappointment.
I paid a premium for your parts that *might* last me 1/4 of the life of my OEM ball joints (if I'm lucky). Never buying Moog again.
@@dthorne4602 I did, that still wouldn't explain why the boots themselves are splitting in a perfect circle around the ball joints. These are unacceptably cheap parts, no excuses.
*MOOG* screwes you over when it comes to their sealed units... my new control arms with ball joints are painfully obvious that theres NO grease in the boots... at all. And my lovely sway bar links have no grease from factory at all in them.. good job saving 3 cents worth of grease by not putting any in. Im cob jobing a syringe full of grease to slip past the boot and get SOMETHING in there. You can pinch the boot and feel rubber on metal it dosent slip or slide like anythins in there and mushing the boot around produced no visible or tangible grease... not impressed for the cost moog. Getting cheaper in quality
Companies step 1. Hire a big gun that has no idea what their products do or how they work.
DONE
So you so-far the most important item and totally skip it...GREASE
So, are there 4 giant cue cards all spread out 10 ft from each other, positioned at the opposite end of the warehouse?
lol. rofl even
he is trying to catch glances of them so his eyes aren't reading to the camera but he's actually making it 100 times worse lol
😂😂🤣😂
😂
I came here for this exact comment.
