The whole Hawkeye branding conversation feels a lot like some of the conversations we have been having lately about content creators being people, not just some public entity. Barton was always a SHIELD agent first and foremost in the MCU, but he went along and fought those big fights because A) he has a family (which includes Romanov) to protect, and B) he seems to have felt it was the right thing to do. He calls it out multiple times in the films that he is just some guy with a bow and arrow taking on gods, homicidal AI armies, aliens, etc. People seem to either forget, not understand, or willfully ignore that fact because during those events he was standing side by side with a literal god, a billionaire industrialist, arguably the physically strongest being on the planet, and a legendary super soldier who mastered heroics BEFORE getting his powers. At the end of the day, Barton is a person. He wants the basic shit we all want, like spending a normal Christmas with his kids. Mind you, all of this also glosses over the whole "my family was dead for YEARS, came back to life, and I'm still working through both that trauma and the death of my best friend" aspect of him. She wouldn't be able to forgive herself and 'get a life of her own' like Agustin said if she had let him die. But she knew Clint could, because he had a family to survive for.

You guys keep missing that Hawkeye had been traveling through the U.S. to Mexico to Japan as Ronin. Rhodey said in Endgame that they found evidence of him killing a bunch of cartel guys.

I was yelling at my screen when Hawkeye said it's was sold "TO WHO!!!!! TELL US!!!!" I was soooooo hoping for a name drop or tease for like the fantastic 4. But I'm absolutely loving that MY favorite avenger is getting a solo project, and I'm hyped beyond belief for my number 2 fav MCU character Moonknight's series to come out!!
That buzzer scene was one of the most New York things I've seen a series do in a while and as a NYer myself, I highly appreciated it while I was laughing my ass off over the accuracy.
Kate Bishop has such a high ceiling to become a major MCU favorite going forward. It makes all the sense in the world if they fully commit to bringing the Young Avengers together on the big screen
Even after seeing 2 episodes of this show Augustine still thinks it was a “cop out” with what happens in endgame... I’m gonna assume he’s still going to be saying that even after the show is over lol. Also, as much as it is a bummer to see Nat die in endgame, is still think it made complete sense for the character so it still worked for me.
I see it this way. Even disregarding any other motive Nat has, how could Auntie Nat live with herself to have those kids be without their dad. She was confident they would succeed in snapping everyone back and she was determined the kids and Laura would come back to their father/husband. Also, just hit me, what kind of survivor's guilt is Laura carrying? Nat was her friend too and she knows without Nat's death, she wouldn't be back. 🤔
I really really hope Clint don’t die in the end of this… 🙏🏽 And I am in love with this series!! ❤️ And can’t wait for Yelena to make this series even better!!
First off, I know cops who's spouses are not that understanding about their jobs, so I REALLY wanna know how Clint and his wife met. She HAD to have a hand in the SHIELD life before becoming a mom. Second, Jack knew it was Kate in the Ronin costume in episode 1. I'm not sure if Swordsman was a bad guy in the comics or not, but I think he and Kate are BOTH being played by Kate's mom. I think she killed Kate's father, and I firmly believe she killed Armand. THAT being said, I DON'T believe Elenore knows that Kate was in the Ronin costume.
The swordsman has played both sides in the comics- from villain to being part of the avengers. Ends up with Mantis at some point in the comic run, lol 😂 I doubt they’ll do that part of the story in the MCU anytime soon if ever but you never know.

@@anthony007 no, I’m not joking. I will sit it out. Because my reaction is not a “product”, it’s just me. So there’s nothing to “adjust”, you understand?
Natasha chose to sacrifice herself because that's what heroes do. It's always the man who is the “hero” for sacrificing himself. I would like to see her death held up as much as Tony’s. Women make sacrifices for those they love in the real world. It's nice to see that depicted in action films instead of the damsel being left behind mourning her Savior. That was NOT a cop-out script. Moreover, it was a woman who suggested that Natasha be the hero.
I've always loved Hawkeye -- I dunno, I have a thing for archers that I can't explain 😅 -- but for this show to get Agustin of all people to say "I love it and can't wait to see more"? That's how you know it's more MCU magic 😀 But yes, Pizza Dog is best boi and deserves his own pizza shop.
The apartment Kate and Clint moved after the previous one was torched belongs to Moira Brandon, a really obscure character from the West Coast Avengers comics.
Clint NOT getting a happy ending with his family...negates Nat's sacrifice. Maybe Clint has a hand in starting the Young Avengers (or West Coast), to help with "the red in his ledger." The Ant-Family and Shang Chi are West Coast based, maybe Kate moves. It also makes me wonder, in what cities are She-Hulk and Moon-Knight going to be based?
Tony Dalton is a Mexican actor (I think he was born in the US of Mexican parents, but made most of his career in Mexico), that's the accent you hear in Jack. He rose to fame with the 2004 movie he both wrote and starred in, "Matando Cabos", which is actually a very good comedy of the "Nuevo Cine Mexicano". I was very surprised to see him in Hawkeye, and made me remember your podcasts where you talk about representation. Well there's another Latino/Hispanic in the MCU!
Yeah, I think Agustin is wrong. Nat had a family, after her fake one and before the Avengers, she was Auntie Nat. Her best friends family was here family. I would willingly die to keep my best friends family safe and together, wouldn't you?
I think that risotto line was a comment on how he is treating Kate... agitating her just enough to be blind to her to what is really going on. Like sure shes onto him... but what if there is a kingpin above him and him blinding kate with anger blinds her to see he is just working for a bigger fish.
@@elbruces Winter Soldier got a freaking super arm. A regular prosthetic arm would’ve worked also. Hawkeye gets not respect but it he does have an AARP hearing aide. 😒
As someone who bought GIANT-SIZE AVENGERS (1974) #2 (the one were Swordsman dies) off the shelf when it was first published... I am LOVING Tony Dalton's portrayal of Jacques (Jack) Duquesne/Swordsman.
Had this thought tonight while watching the reaction video. I think you can see the cracks forming in Clint's faith in the law in Civil War. When he's talking with Tony from his cell, Clint is struggling with being labeled a criminal. When Tony notes he chose to break the law, Clint's reaction (the law, the law, the law) sounds like someone trying to reconcile doing what he thought was the right thing and that being illegal.
Jeremy Renner is great at comedy so I'm glad he gets to play that out. Thought of Loki show and LARPERs. When the guy was doing CHING sounds haha. Thinks the Mother is going to end up being villan.
Just yesterday I watched this series and I am very satisfied. But what a surprise for me when they used an immortal and time-forgotten song by the musical genius Alan Wilder and the legendary Depeche Mode - Christmas Island as the theme song for Echo. Totally the best. I'm totally excited :D
There's a Home Alone 2 reference. Although it's cut out from this edit of the reaction but after Kate Bishop shoots the arrow at the fire extinguisher and it almost hits the thugs one of the tracksuit mafia members says "is that all you got? throw another one!" (Paraphrasing). just like the Home Alone 2 scene where Kevin is throwing bricks at the sticky bandits from the rooftop
Guys Tony Dalton is Mexican that's way the accent sounds like Antonio Banderas he mostly does Mexican TV and Movies. By the way that is a real mustache. hahahahaaha.
Can you imagine that the end or towards the end of the show Clint goes to trial for his actions as Ronin then Matt Murdock comes in to defend him as he did Punisher 🤯
I gotta say - I think it's unfair of Augustin to say that it's poor writing for Widow to sacrifice herself rather than Clint. And before I continue, please know all three of you are some of my favorite content creators. Period. You guys do phenomenal work and I generally find myself agreeing with all of you on a ton of different aspects around all sorts of media you've discussed and reacted to. If you don't like that Widow doesn't get to live on and keep her family in the Avengers, I get it. It's a really tragic ending and I get emotional about her arc every time. But to say it isn't good writing isn't true or fair at all. The tragedy of her story and her arc is so well represented within that moment. Yes, she has sacrificed a lot. Yes, she's been through a shitload of trauma. Yes, she made up for so much of that doing good throughout the second half of her life. However, Widow firmly believes that this is the way she wiped the red out of her ledger and redeems herself fully. This is the way Widow protects her family and helps them live on. This is the way Widow loves Clint and what he did for her in believing in her and allowing her to live when he was sent on his mission to kill her. He has a wife and kids. She loves him. She wants him to have his family back, and to bring everyone back, and restore some justice in the world. You're taking that decision away from her by saying this is bad writing and she should have been the one to live. Saying you don't like it or wish she could have been the one to live is perfectly fine, and I'm sure others feel that way. But it's not at all a failure of the writing that they went this way with it. Natasha made that decision. She wanted that. She wanted to protect her family at all costs, and her sacrifice allowed that to come true. That's as heroic an ending as you could ask for, as hard as it is knowing she had to die to do it.
Just gotta say all police are not white supremacists. There are bad eggs in the police force just like in every other aspect of life. Most are good ppl who want to serve their community. Don't know why there is a need for that comment. I'm sure the feedback for this comment will be fun but it has to be said

God I love Tony Dalton, I feel in love with him since Better call Saul. Also last episode Hector said he's super villian .... yeah but he always changing it, once he's villain, once he's hero, and I think this is gonna be expectation subversion and he's gonna be good guy here
The way I took Kate’s understanding (and everyone else’s understanding) of the situation is that the Ronin suit/sword is stolen Avengers property and Clint’s trying to get it back. Grills probably sees Ronin as a hero despite the violence since he went after criminals only.
I want to see a wager between you guys. Each of you puts out a hypothesis about who is actually behind the murder of Armand Duquesne. Not necessarily who did the deed, but who ordered/decided that he had to die. At the end of the season, whomever gets it wrong has to shave. And you can tell us with each reaction how much your significant others are rooting for you to win or lose. You know all of your fans will be totally into this.
Great reaction as always guys. I really hope D'Onofrio's King Pin is in the show. The Echo show is rumored to have a lot of the Netflix Daredevil gang back. I respectfully disagree with Agustin's take on End Game though. I think what happened makes a lot sense. Nat had just reconciled with her adopted family, yes. But there's no way she was gonna allow Clint to sacrifice himself in her place. She had spent the 5 years after the blip trying to run the remnants of the Avengers with Cap, while also searching for her best friend. Clint had just lost his whole family and was hopeless and vengefully killing murderous gangs across the world. Then this opportunity to give him hope and bring his family back presents itself. I feel with the dynamics in that friendship that it makes sense that she would stubbornly sacrifice herself to give Clint a chance to be with his family again and possibly atone for his time as Ronin. Nat was basically the godmother to his kids. She knew how important his family was to him. He even left action for a while to spend time with them. For me it works but I understand that it doesn't for everyone.
Also, I don’t think Clint wants the recognition. He just wants to be left alone with his family. Which included Natasha. And somewhat Wanda, since he was the one to treat the twins like little kids first and foremost. And most likely will include Kate by the end of this.
Another creator wondered if the red room that Echo was in at the end of the episode indicates that she may have been Widow. They believe that because if her MCU skills are comicbook accurate, then she's like Task Master. What do y'all think of that?
In case anyone wondered about what the tracksuit blond dude syas: "Rozumiesz?" means "Understand?", "Rozumiesz to?" means "Understand this?" - it's in Polish :)
The whole LARP sequence is the kinda thing you can only get in these shows as opposed to the movies, and I just love it.

Hector: Hawkeye is nobody's favorite Avenger..
Me: Nope. I've always liked him!!
That buzzer scene was one of the most New York things I've seen a series do in a while and as a NYer myself, I highly appreciated it while I was laughing my ass off over the accuracy.
Pretending to belong there? I dont get it 😂
I'm enjoying the show so far. I think I laughed more watching this episode than any other MCU Disney+ episode.
“I’m going to real punch u and your going to real fall down” might b my new fav quote.
I really really hope Clint don’t die in the end of this… 🙏🏽
And I am in love with this series!! ❤️ And can’t wait for Yelena to make this series even better!!
Yelena
@@JettKuroi Sorry… Yelena.
🤔- Hmmmm, interesting..
I just can't unthink it that Eleanor is playing a version of Madame Masque
@@rehanrizwan6227 - Ooooo, now you say it..! 🤔
The swordsman has played both sides in the comics- from villain to being part of the avengers. Ends up with Mantis at some point in the comic run, lol 😂 I doubt they’ll do that part of the story in the MCU anytime soon if ever but you never know.
@@allison4516 THANK you for that. I'm getting that sort of "anti-hero" vibe from him.
Hector constantly explaining what we are seeing while watching it..its amazing how ppl can talk so much while a dialog at the same time still knowing what they are saying in the show.. bravo to yall. I cant talk and hear at the same time 👏🏾👏🏾

@@hectorminator NOOOOO!!! You must not sit the next one out!!! Don't let this guy speak for the rest of us, regardless of how much he says he loves and respects you. I, for one and I'm sure I'm not the only one, enjoy the insight into the source material that supports these shows and have genuinely learned quite a bit due to your knowledge and input in these videos!
@@hectorminator Please don't listen to this shit. Please. Do not let commenters like this influence you. Anyone who is here should have watched the episode already, meaning they know what happens, meaning you talking over certain moments shouldn't matter at all. In addition, it's a REACTION video. You always bring great stuff to the table in terms of your knowledge of the comics, your insights on the productions themselves, and marrying those things together. There are very rare channels on YT that boast a combination of passion, knowledge, entertainment, and great personality. You all three bring it all to the table, and this isn't the same without you as a part of it. Period.
As a creator and someone in the public eye, you need to have a thick skin. I'm sure you already know this and I'm preaching to the choir, but keep that in mind when you see nonsense like this. You watch in CC, you have already seen the first two episodes, you know the MCU and comics better than 99% of the people who would ever comment here, and for the MANY of us who feel the same energy and passion for these characters and stories, we love to see that reflected in you and to hear what you have to offer that enhances our knowledge around the stories/characters/production etc.
My suggestion for comments like these - have a canned response. You had a response earlier with two numbered points talking about why you discuss things in the middle of a vid. Do something like that where you can just copy and paste it for any of the naysayers who want to bitch and moan about your commentary and leave it at that. Less effort and energy for you to expend, you get to stick up for yourself and the homies, and you can leave it at that.
Much love to all three of you. You all would be among my top tier choices of "Who I would want to have dinner with and talk to for hours." I know I'm not the only one who feels that way.
I'm just loving this so far. The buddy cop dynamic is much better here than it was on fatws. I like these reactions better when hector hasn't seen the episode. I like seeing his first time reaction.
he mentioned in the previous reaction he had already seen both episodes due to having to do those interviews with showrunners etc.
@@theamazingwebb Hector always gets an advance screening. The problem is that when he's already seen the episodes, he tends to talk a little too much and will sometimes spoil things for the other 2 right before it happens.

Tony dalton is Mexican(he born in USA, but live his entire live in Mexico)🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I love that soundtrack for echo gives me the chills
I hope he doesn't turn himself in. I hope he finds his peace and retires. But I love Jermey Renner. I don't want them to kill off the character.
The 'cling!' guy reminded me of Happy saying 'Blam!' in "What If..?"😆
Tony Dalton can actually speak fluent Spanish. I know him from better call Saul
Yeah, because he is Mexican.
I agree completely. I love Augstin, but he missed the mark on that one bigtime. Not a cop out in the slightest.
I can't unhear "hot guy"
"Where's that? Avengers Tower?" - Kate Bishop, 2024
Clint Barton's thoughts: *That was sold literally 8 years ago don't you live in New York?*
Guys i love these videos. I was waiting for this series ! Hawkeye looks rly good :) Much love from Slovakia
Maybe Clint has a hand in starting the Young Avengers (or West Coast), to help with "the red in his ledger."
The Ant-Family and Shang Chi are West Coast based, maybe Kate moves.
It also makes me wonder, in what cities are She-Hulk and Moon-Knight going to be based?
Hawkeye: the only good dad in the entire MCU.
The rollercoaster of emotions on Adam's face at the end spoke volumes. Can't wait to see how this show pans out.
One thing no one has mentioned is that the photograph Valentina shows Yelena at the end of Black Widow is Clint in the Ronin suit, so somebody knows.
"You can tell it's part of Marvel fantasy because all these cops are LARPers instead of white supremacists."
I'm DEAD
Adam acting a little suspicious there at the end……ADAM IS PLAYING KINGPIN IN THE SHOW CONFIRMED!
Little did you realize, the Salamanca Cartel is one of the organizations after Ronin
Hawkeye should have access to better hearing aide technology. I mean Stark Technologies or Wakanda needs to hook him up.
Seems to work fine.
BROOO, HERO CLIX?!?!?! I literally have like 6 boxes of f-ing hero clix that I stopped playing with as a kid 🤣🤣 man what a great throwback
Dude I swear Jack Duquesne SCREAMS Bond villain.
10:05 LMFAO LET EM KNOW HECTOR 😂
Hawkeye has been my favorites Avenger for decades. As a kid I bought The West Coast Avengers because of him.
Hector dropping the TMNT references I am here for it
Lalo Salamanca! ...2024 and i am still re-watching these reactions again and again ...
I love how everybody read all this complicated stuff into Jack's every word and it turns out that he's just dumb as a brick. Very 'Being There' vibe.

My gosh, I love that you guys do the TMNT pizza joke/voices, because I too do that all the time. Drives my wife crazy. Love you crazy nerds!
Just gotta say all police are not white supremacists. There are bad eggs in the police force just like in every other aspect of life. Most are good ppl who want to serve their community. Don't know why there is a need for that comment. I'm sure the feedback for this comment will be fun but it has to be said

It only took one episode and we have reached the breakthrough with the Hawkeye redemption arc😭🎉
God I love Tony Dalton, I feel in love with him since Better call Saul.
Also last episode Hector said he's super villian .... yeah but he always changing it, once he's villain, once he's hero, and I think this is gonna be expectation subversion and he's gonna be good guy here
If Clint dies I don't know what I would to do. Like... Our heroes can't always die dude.
I hear a Paul F Tompkins reference, I click the like.
I missed the part where Clint interacts with Wanda's kids.
@@elbruces By 'the twins' they mean Wanda and Pietro, not Wanda's twins, lol.
You missed my favorite part of the episode the banter between him at the end of the episode with the tracksuit mafia was so funny.
