      Not just the one, but both ladies rendered a poor service. They handled the call as if they were working for Telkom(the worst call centre in the universe).
      Do they not use pen and paper to write down the address if they are having trouble finding it on whatever broken program they are working on? They spent so much time on just the street name. What were they drunk or something? And the casual chatter in the background! Wth? Have they any respect and sensitivity about the calls they receive? Ugh!

One just has to count the number of times she asks about the street name, it's ludicrous,Never mind offer any reassurance to him. There might still have been a chance for these poor victims, who knows? I agree with everyone WHAT ANOTHER ENORMOUS EMBARRASSMENT FOR SOUTH AFRICA (YET AGAIN!!!) What's staggering is the ignorance of the commenters who have no idea how 911 works. They seem to think she's chatting, she actually gathered all the evidence against Henri.
      Y'all seem to think ambulances and doctors are an unlimited resource and we can just send them to every drunken call before eve knowing what the emergency is. When that actually may doom correct and fast response to real emergencies

  • @the_key_x
    @the_key_x 6 років тому +26

    Most telling - at the VERY start, at 0:02 after "what is your emergency" he says "hi, ah-um, yeah" like he's trying to sound panicked. At 0:05 the dog barks. Surely one would stop talking, petrified the "attacker" was back?!! But he's un-phased. Because there was no "intruder". Then he realizes how incompetent she is and this confuses him, and he inadvertently slips into "ordering pizza mode" oh-so-casual. At 05:54 she says "with an axe" as if she thinks it's a hoax call. Because he's so goddam CALM. After watching sentencing, he's a cold blooded psychopath if ever I saw one, no remorse, no emotion.

    Unfortunately this is what our emergency services are like here in South Africa. If you are in a car accident the first responder to usually be on the scene is the tow truck. Ambulances have been privatized so they dangerously race each other through the streets (if they even make an appearance) and police often only arrive 30min later.
    When you do report a crime there is no follow up and when you do eventually follow up on your own there is no record of your case. Speaking from personal experience.
    Our prisoners sit in jail rewarded with KFC meals and strippers while people of all colours are suffering at the hands of violent criminals. It's a sad state indeed.

    A phone call that took 10 minutes... By then anybody still breathing should be expected dead. Henri was found guilty by court, but giving the sheer incompetence of a phone call he had to deal with, with the emergency services, I cannot see how the emergency services or police can pride themselves on a "job well done". I cannot imagine anyone staying sane with such a poor management of an emergency call. Whether Henri was in distress or not, anyone in a real distress situation (meaning not the murderer) would have collapsed under such an appalling situation, if treated like that in a phone call. Kudos to the courts for doing a good job, but no credit to the police or emergency services, thank you. (Technically I think van Breda cannot be found guilty, due to a lack of proper investigation, and public services conduct.)
