5. House of Collalto and the Brick Jestav

This video is about Okříšky and its brickworks, which produced the brick Jestav between the 1930s and the 1970s. The Jestav brick was invented by Josef Prášil and its fist commercial success was paid by the House of Collalto. In the late-1930s and the early-1940s Count Eduard Mensdorff-Pouilly, the husband of Giselda Collalto was the director of the brickwors in Okříšky and had to solve the competition of the Jestav brick. The history of the brickworks is explained and the connection of the Jestav brick with the Collaltos is shown.
