Great stuff! On your next tutorial can you show the proper way to load uncle Jesse in? He always needed a little help.
I really liked the General Lee and I would like to own one someday.
@@billymclane7588 I hope you can, it’s more fun than you could ever imagine!
So now now that I am a enter and exit professional, all I need is a General Lee
@@StephanieMaynard-q2n yep, thats all you need💪😂💪
He does it better now in his 40s to when we were in our 20s
@@thelukeanddaddychannel5159 thanks! I’ve also had a lot more time to practice😂😂😂
Bo and Luke should’ve did one of these in the 80’s as a promo for the show.
@@GCREYNOLDS5150 definitely!
When I was a kid we used to tell our mom to roll down the windows so we could get in and out like this.
@@seanskelton866 that’s awesome 💪💪💪
Hilarious “shame shame, everybody knows your name!”
@@GCREYNOLDS5150 😂😂😂😂
Thanks for watching!
Now, you forgot to say, thanks to Keto and low carb for Golden Corral that you can demonstrate these cool things for us. Lol. Staying slim, and trim. Lol.
@@GinaYoung-c5e 😂😂😂
Jii😊
Nice video. Can you show us how to properly to the hood slide?
@@thechestnutking736 thanks for watching! Stay tuned!💪💪💪
good one :)
If I try this at 55 I will be in the hospital for a month 🤣
@@tomd.2982 😂😂😂. Hopefully not! As long as you take your time I think you would be fine 💪
one advantage here, no rollbar, I always get my feet caught on the rollbar if i misjump
@@Thomas.Tommy.Weerman good point! I’ll probably do an updated video once I get mine installed 💪 Definitely requires an adjustment 🤙
And two years after Bo and Luke slid into their car, Thomas Magnum would STEP into his. (Admittedly being 6'4" with a car whose open roof didn't come up to his belt buckle helped).
@@ahhamartin yeah, that definitely helped for sure😂
Yeah I tore my pants leg open on the door lock first time I did it in a Charger and mildly cut my leg. The big two door Chargers are a lot easier to do it than the 4 door Fury I 1st learned on though :)
@@digitalmagicAR I hear ya! I had a piece of trim that was broken and really sharp on the passenger side. My buddy Brent lost three pairs of jeans to it😂. I cut my leg and back first time I did it😂
Yeah I miss duke boys just good tv
You’ve clearly put a lot of thought into the subject. 😂
@@philsturgill3435 thanks, I’ve also had a ton of practice since 1996 as well😂
do your doors work?
@@evanscott3164 I can use a key and open them, but that’s no fun at all😂😂😂
@ true
Definitely remove the locks! If you don't it hurts and has been known to destroy blue jeans!
@@Aaron-ok6vt yep, for sure! Mine actually had a piece of the passenger’s side trim (on top of the rear door panel) that was broken off and my buddy lost 3 pairs of jeans to it back in high school😂😂😂
FIRST remove the door locks....😬 I woulda made the same mistake. Thanks for that tip!!!
@@christophertackett2673 your welcome, it wasn’t fun😂😂😂
BAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM :)
That was great! Definitely the only way to get in a general. I’m building the ultimate general using a REAL 69 HEMI 4 speed car.. yup, the purists are gonna have a cow, but guess what ? I DONT CARE !! It’s my car ,don’t like it? Give me 250k and u can have the car.. LOL
@@cuttersgoose thanks for watching!! Wow, I bet that will be incredible when you’re done! Keep us updated on the build!
I swear I thought I remember the sound of the door closing once. Bo and Luke were getting into the General Lee from behind a bush, hiding the view. I would have to watch all the seasons (except "Coy and Vance" episodes) to be sure. But it doesn't seem like a mistake they would make -- If Bo or Luke accidentally did open the door to get in, the door closing sound would have been erased from the soundtrack before the episode aired, right?
@@williamjones7821 actually, there is an episode where that happens, the camera is mounted on the hood and you can see both the driver and passenger seats and you see Luke come into frame, then you hear a door close. It’s Season 2, episode 1, “Days of Shine and Roses.” I believe around the 38:48 mark. Feel free to double check me.
Now I understand this is your build and it doesn't do good things for the hood but maybe do a tutorial on what to do after the hood slide 🤔
@@ottodierksheide755 stay tuned! I actually plan on showing two versions of how to do quick getaways in the General Lee😂. May be once warm weather hits again, but I’m definitely working on them😂
@GLRESTOMOD be careful, the general is your car but just be careful not to hurt the car or more importantly yourself. Me and my friends have messed around doing hood slides on our sh*t box cars and it usually dings up hood on our cars we don't care and pop it back out but for a care you care about might be a different story.
@ absolutely! Mine is more of a driver so once I get him restored I’ll still climb in and out the windows but will forego the hood slides, etc. In the meantime, I’ll still be as careful as I can! I appreciate the heads up!
You forgot to mention that you’re 4 feet tall!
@@nigelbobinski5798 😂😂😂. True! But it’s also a little easier if you’re taller, at least on the casual/not in a hurry entry into the General Lee😂. If you are taller, also make sure the seat is moved all the way back as well💪
Bdute
Who came up with the idea that doors don’t open? and what are you going to do when you’re over 50?
@@MarkSmets-y6b great questions💪. As for the doors being welded shut, that’s part of the story line in the television series, so they were always entering and exiting through the windows.
As far as your second question, I’m hoping I’ll get in and out through the windows! I’m also working in a fitness and nutrition channel for people who were made in the 80’s just like myself. Hopefully I can help other people in their 50’s or even older be able to enter exit General Lee just like this💪💪💪I’m currently 44, so 50 isn’t that far away🤙
John Schneider can still get in the windows and he's about 64 so once you learn how to do it, stay in practice and maintain your health good Lord willing a person can do it for a while.
@ amen! I also have a health and fitness UA-cam channel as well. I’m getting heavier on purpose and then I’ll document it all on my other channel: that way I can help people lose weight and also enter and exit General Lee properly hopefully into my golden years😎
